Hunchback and History Updates, Yes I saw the Kickstarter

Yes, I saw the kickstarter.

Yes, I did.

Worry not.

Joshua Green. A man from Canopus, which explains why he left. Nonetheless, thinks Canopus and the Taurians are better than any IS house or Clan. Most likely a pilot, whether that is of Aerotech or DropShip.

Maximilian "Rex Regis" Koenig and his modified AXM-3S, Kingmaker. He's exactly as full of himself as he sounds while being desperate to keep people from finding out he failed to make it in the Solaris Games. Twice.

They Call Me Soup Can

Seeing if I can squeak one by before the buzzer, got some thoughts to throw up after being absent a couple weeks! 1) Gosh golly heck and darn it Tex, how could you let me down like this. I pay good money to have you tell me to stop giving you money at the end of each month and I feel so betrayed! And I cant type this with a straight face lol. Im glad you're still so conscientious, never change. 2) Eldonius is indeed a sweetheart, but I swear your whole team are all at least on the public face a gaggle of wholesome cinnamon buns. I still stand by the assessment that you're something approaching the Mr Rogers of War Crimes, and again it breeds respect for you, your team, and the work you guys all do. As always, my best wishes and appreciation to the whole crew for all you do. 3) Would it be possible to get something similar to the foley sound from the 1911 except with the thompson? I've never heard one outside of video games and movies, and like you pointed out that's never gonna be entirely accurate. You have me curious. 4) Hunchback is like the Charger, its just a dirt simple brick of a mech that was perfect in its design to survivor the SuccWars. How would you compare it to the Thunderbolt? I feel that one also has a lot of the same benefits going for it that the hunchback does in the form of ease of maintenance, procurement, and overall simplicity and durability in very harsh times. 5) Why HEAT for train hunting? Wouldn't an HE round be better given how trains arent exactly armored? 6) Spiced Hams is gonna be great. You got me thinking, would the Navy Seal copypasta survive potentially as the grand speech immortalized, something like the old lines like "Tell them to send us more Japs" or one of the many Chesty Puller quotes from Chosin? Turn it into some grandiose thing thrown into the climax of an old historical "documentary" 7) I swear that sound of your neck sounds like so many of the painful impact canned noises used in MXC when people wipe out and fold themselves into strange shapes by means of hilarious impact. I winced. Just....oof my dude. Pretty sure thats it, hope I squeaked it in in time, but if not, oh well, try again next week!

Less of a question more of a prompt - been asking random people to make up a name/nickname and one sentence description of a Mechwarrior/Mercenary/Etc for the RPG I play in - we play as a merc company in 3151, so whatever silly or cool thing you (or anyone reading this) wants to come up with reply below! I roll randomly whenever we hire non-player characters on.

Just watched your Friday 7th BTA stream. What a delightfully cursed rendition of An der schönen, blauen Donau. I gotta know, what all did you do to this track? There's some weird shit going on, it can't be just changing tempo, there are some very interesting distortions in the higher ends, when it picks up.. it's fucking haunting. Love it. Cheers!

I've gotten a few things straightened out and I'm back...identity theft sucks dick, the damage was not bad just a while to get things out back together...I love combined arms in battletech more than just mechs...I played a game with a buddy with tanks and mechs while we were learning tanks in Alpha Strike. I managed to win primarily using my tanks, two Rommels and a demolisher on each team and two medium mechs. I made my tanks just scoot around blapping the mechs and then just rammed stuff until it died. I barely won, but a W is a W

Quick question regarding the upcoming (and highly anticipated) Tex Talks History: TTB is being presented by the character of Prof. Tex, will TTH be presented by yourself as per your Essay on Mods, Whaleguns, and Friendship?

I don't give this weird voice on the internet money because he says he deserves it. Actually, he has frequently said he doesn't deserve it. Nah, I'm on this patreon because it goes to people who make stuff that I enjoy and do work that I appreciate. It's not that you deserve it, it's that you've earned it and I want to contribute in my small way to that work. But your monthly warnings are valid and show integrity. Integrity, of course, is acting in a moral/ethical way even when there is nothing to gain from doing so.

Afternoon/Morning Tex, here is hoping that your feelings are a bit better everyday as someone who has been having his own bout of medical ‘fun’ in the recent weeks. On a positive note, I got a chance to introduce a few friends of mine in a 8k Battle Value game to the wonders of Herr Manticore and Fraulin Heavy LRM Carrier plus their extended friends…. They had a great time, punch was served… it was delightful. Secondary good news, a while back I spoke about a dwarven NPC roughly based off of you. I have an update… he is now a WereRam and has successfully proven that if you headbutt a troll hard enough it won’t get back up(Three Nats 20s in a row man). Though that would bring you a chuckle. Now I was pondering the viability of remote drone mines in Battletech i.e the Spider Mines of Starcraft or the Terror Drones of RA2 and on. I am aware of the Wobbies having drone ‘Mech i.e the Revenant, but the overall idea of a smaller more nimble combat asset weirdly appealed to me. Personally I have several ideas on them ranging from area denial if left static, if they were capable of being mobile(which would be ideal) having them as a sort of first wave rushing against ‘Mechs and Battle Armor, or as hunter-killers against infantry and AFVs. I was hoping to hear your thoughts on the matter. Lastly a question of meat; Given your choice of beef, without an issue of cost, which would you prefer amongst the various beefs?

Rimward Herald

Hey Tex, hope you're feeling well. Wanted to update you on your youngest listener. My niece now recognizes your voice and gets excited for me babysitting because i always put the podcast on when she visits. I actually use the TTB playlist to calm her down for naps. Question for you, say we finally get power armor and then the aliens suddenly invade. What weapons system would you want installed on your unit when they start doling them out to all citizens to repell the invasion? I personally want a pack howitzer, or maybe a quad mount mg34. Anywho, praise z0rg, may he curse..no...bless? Blurse? Blurse your enemise with Chlorine trifluoride farts whilst in a power outage and they only have candles.

The 45 - 70 BAR makes me wonder to what wild shit John Moses Browning had ideas for but could never make in his lifetime. Wasnt the last thing he patented an over under double barrel shotgun? I watched a documentary on him recently that said that was his last work

Bee_Tea

Tex, Bull barrel or bushing?
