A More Thorough History Update

Pardon the last update - I was so f'ing tired after taking a 4 day driving excursion / long week end drive thing. This is more thorough in every way and contains far more thought.

Remember Tukayyid coming up fast on May 20th. Get bent, weirdos.

MrToBeNamedLater

Definitely appreciate a different perspective on the events surrounding what was basically a high-speed summary of the situation that surrounded WWI and the almost insane drive towards the new frontier. My US History class was unfortunately brief regarding this, perhaps by necessity. Looking forward to the next TTH - as well as the Hunchback. Hope everyone in the BPL is doing well.

I just finishd listening to the podcast 129, and your Hotels.com issue is quite common. If you do stay at hotel chains it is better and usually cheaper to stay at places using their own internal site. As the son of a hotel manager, Trivago, Hotels.com, and hotwire are some of the worst businesses, up there with hockey tournaments with drunk parents and rowdy kids. The way these companies make money is they buy the ability to book rooms in bulk, and then shove them through the system willy nilly, pocket the money and run. Even in Canada they are the same. If you can, try to sign up with a membership (free) with one of the chains, they will be slightly more expensive than the advertised rate on Hotels.com or similar, but will be cheaper as they won't have hidden fees or stupidity. Also, most hotels treat members to bonus stuff as well. If you also know someone in the hotel business (not me, I dont have enough pull) you may also be able to get cheap rates from them.

As a tiny content creator myself, the burger shop analogy makes me feel better and a bit more confident. Much love big daddy.

Like many others i too adore TTH. When my extended family of teachers watched it on my recommendation, they all immediately asked if more was on the way. To which I replied "yes, eventually. Probably sooner than Tex's health and sanity should allow him to" On a side note after looking at the Locust Labs rendering of the Hunchback i now have a cursed idea to make it into a cosplay.

I loved TTH. I've shared it will friends, family, and anyone else I think might be interested. Is there anything you can do with the credits on the next video? The credit scrolling has a slightly choppy feel to it which makes it hard to read.

Hey Tex, finally got to watch the history and standing ovation to you and your team. I did try to screw over YT as I pulled up the premiere but muted it so I could count for the views. As everyone talks about Hunchback (which I am looking forward to) I personally can't wait for the Black Knight (I LOVE the clan buster version). I do have a question (shocking ibknow) why in battletech does it only seem like 1 planet is inhabited in every solar system (except Terra during the Amaris Civil War)? Am I missing something or is it usually just one? It sounds like you are doing better so keep it up. One step at a time.

Czarvak

Its criminal what YT has done to tex talks history. I really do think it was some of your best work, it was so clean and well done, and on a subject that I had never heard of before. I've caught onto a few other documentary channels over the years, and you guys are a mile ahead in terms of production value. Like, old stock images from google or simple graphs are fine when the content is sound, but when you guys break out with immaculate backdrops through the entire thing, it makes a huge difference.

Hey Tex and crew, with you Tubes of You are hot garbage I have a great verbal story to share that will hopefully pick up your day. So I had ordered some takeout after work bc I wanted Greek food. My wife was about to feed the newborn. I saw the delivery driver pull up and I exclaim "MY TASTIES HAVE ARRIVED!" My wife then responded with "WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU HAVE FOOD DELIVERED AS IM WHIPPING MY BOOB OUT FOR THE BABY!" As I turned to respond I see my newish to being a biological teen, teenager, look at my wife just mouth agape realizing the front door is still open and completely unable to respond due to sheer embarrassment at the situation and then slowly walks out of the room. I look t my wife and say "I both love you and also admire how quickly you caused our teenager to rethink any choice she is about to make for the next thirty minutes" We had a great laugh and I enjoyed my Greek salad. You can read this aloud or not, please enjoy

Dude, y'alls did sweet work with it. That said sadly not surprising though you are being de-prioritized in ranking, given the length. The platform loves ad revenue and long stuff means fewer ads. Amazing how many issues could be solved by introducing ad execs to the power of Z0rg. But aye, OMG, it is amazing how many how many execs Dr Christmas reminds me of in the IT industry.

VVelox

Hah! That should be a hoot, especially if the bad idea fairy trikes and you ask about loading info.

Lex Fridman did an interview with Mr.Beast and one of the things they talked about was youtube. Jimmy doesn't target the algorithm so much as he targets human phycology which makes sense as humans have a much slower patch cycle. In other Dr. Christmas like oddities, The Lady And The Dale involved a similar individual who I believe eventually went to jail. Also, according to America's Untold Stories, the original investigation was done by Tucker Carlson's father. A really strange story. "He's the king of the rumba beat." That is fantastic admining. Thank you for the full story; I knew of the name, the song, and the explosions but not the whole thing. Looking forward to the Hunchback. The P9 was the first 'reasonable' mech I bought in MWO. Simple enough that even a child can laser vomit, and they do. Have you tested ChatGPT's gun or gun repair knowledge?

Captain1nsaneo

A random thought popped into my head. Take ground meat, use an egg, press into buggies, coat with G Hughes sauce and charbroil in the shapes that suit you! I will try this. QUESTION: Ever make oven jerky? 80 degree C money saver!

Walt_Man

I love all the work you guys do, but PLEASE don't overwork yourselves. I for one can wait on a quality product. I do hope you do some more commentary on old instrucional films with Dep, those are great

Panzerfan

Now that I've finally had the chance to watch Tex Talks History in full, I'd like to thank you for the entertaining education. Strangely, Youtube even deigned to inform me of the video having its release in the near future. Once. On actual showtime? Less so.

Rawinteli

I'm right there with you on the forgetting to eat. Were you to look at my phone you would find a number of alarms labeled things such as EAT SOMETHING FUCKO and GO THE FUCK TO WORK. Helps snap me out of it when I'm fixated or moping. Might be worth a try. I can't tell you to save my life what my favorite mech is, but the Hunchback and (almost) any of its variants would certainly be in the conversation. As a result I am UNREASONABLY excited for this episode. Honest to God, I didn't even know there WAS a community page. I have brought shame upon my house. Entirely unrelated, Dawson's Christian is one of my favorite songs/stories out there, and there need to be more versions of this. Stay safe out there.

Korehammer

I wouldn't presume to tell you how to edit your videos. I'll suggest *subject material* all day. For the record, I watch you guys on a desktop with headphones. I didn't get a smart phone until 2020 when my job made me. Your notifications almost always work. My work schedule doesn't always allow me to watch live or completely later. The timing of this reply is indicative, especially since I got my current job. The thing about gaming the algorithm, we are already reaching the point where the algorithm is gaming us. And I'm not merely speaking of being influenced by it.

Jay McIntyre

Have love your guys work in battletech and history, stay safe and healthy and keep on keeping on.

Thanks you for your hard work, I enjoyed TTH very much, it puts a lot of * professional * documentaries to shame. Regarding Youtube, I struggle too with my small channel and understand your pain. Most likely it is the first non-fiction outing from a channel with gaming / fiction background, so the viewing pattern are not there yet. Got to spread the word old fashion way to reach history viewer and establish patterns
