Art Process: Tempo Part 1
Added 2022-02-03 16:31:12 +0000 UTCOne of our patron requests was for some behind-the-scenes stuff to show the process behind making OSAS, so here's part of the beginning of Tempo, allowing you to see the main stages I go through with the art!
The first is what I call layouts, but you could also call them thumbnails - not quite detailed enough to be called a sketch, it's mainly just so I can organize the panels' compositional elements, poses, and the basic gists of the characters' expressions.
The second is inks - I skip sketching and go straight to this stage to save on time and because it's what I'm used to. Now I'm unable to do rough sketches because I usually draw either layouts or inks OTL
And finally the finished product. Before it gets to this stage, Laurel helps me out by putting in the standardized flat colours for our characters, then I go in and add the specific palette, shading, lighting, any special effects like glows/textures/blurs, and of course the final version of the text.

2022-02-03 22:40:28 +0000 UTCYour thumbnails are very clean! I take a look at some artists' thumbnails and I literally have no idea what I'm looking at. 😅 But as long as you artists can decipher your own lines and scribbles then that is all that matters. Thanks for sharing the process!
