The thing with Battlemechs is that they're not really built for one primary role anymore. It's kinda more like... you've got wheeled vehicles, you've got treaded vehicles, you've got hover vehicles and you've got walking vehicles. There are 'tank' Battlemechs and 'tank destroyer' battlemechs, for instance.

Question: In Battletech military doctrine, what is the primary roll of a Battlemech? Is it to fight other battlemechs and everything/one else’s job is to support the mech? I’m trying to compare it to the primary role of the tank and how it has evolved. It’s primary function, per the US in WW2, was to support infantry. This made the Sherman a better tank, while the Tiger was certainly a better tank killer.

Please tell Mike that the car audio podcast was excellent. No issue listening/enjoying it. Also, whoever played Slar on the StarTrack episodes, please inform him he was a great character! Suggestion: Could you give us a date reference when you take questions on the podcast? I’ve got a few that I hope to make it, but with the backlog, I’m not sure if they’ve come up in the queue. I promise I didn’t shittily sing in them.

Welcome back from the state that is south of Michigan. We are about to continue the Coventry campaign (I have a lance from Eridani Light Horse) and we are looking to smash an ambush of Green Chickens (Jade Falcon lunatics). Question is what is your favorite mercenary unit, but not Snords Irregulars?

Note: That stream was a lot of fun :-D

It's not Detroit!

I really enjoy the Battletech videos. I would definitely be down for a series of profiles on the various leaders/warriors of the setting. Maybe a sampling of people surrounding a particular event or battle and how their personalities, interactions, or blind spots led to tragedy or triumph. If that fits in with your plans or poll results, that is. It's hard for me to offer critiques or suggestions because I don't want to come off as an entitled asshole. What you're doing works, you're team is VERY talented, and the quality keeps going up. Sometimes you go on a bit of a tangent or use 10 words when 3 would do but, honestly, that's kind of what historians DO, lol...

I don’t know squish that cat sounds a bit dirty lol

Michael Kimberling

is that a new BPL logo?

But my wife is worried about that "squish that cat" comment. Be careful with Unsinkable Sam

Grats on 10 years, here's to the next 10,000

Tex, I volunteer for the stream-of-consciousness cursed painting show on the Cleveland podcast episode. With the idea that the original artist is painting a miniature, and sometimes the miniature changes colour scheme, model type, and at one point it is an Urbanmech, and also somewhere the model turns into one of those miniature canvases with the painting of the original model.

I'm one of those members of the audience who's genuinely content with anything you produce, Tex, but I do want to highlight a specific thing in the method you've put your documentaries forth -- you've taken to a very compelling method of recapping the history of the setting by couching it in build-up to the situation that led to a specific 'Mech being created, and it's absolutely a fantastic method. I don't see a particular reason for you to deviate from that pattern, because for the purposes of your lore lectures, it absolutely works. Not to tell you how to do your stuff - but doing your 'Mech videos in the same manner going forward would not damage the quality of the project in any fashion in my opinion. Just a hot take from a monkey in the audience.

Happy 10 year anniversary!

It is Friday, my favorite creator is doing well, there is a rack of ribs bathing in mesquite smoke out front and I have strong drink in hand. This is a good day. Looking forward to the stream tonight, that sounds like it'll be great fun! I have no question this week, but rather a statement. I had a thought while listening to the nuclear podcast from a few weeks back and would like to posit the notion of using a nuclear salt water rocket as some form of directed fission weapon.

Congrats on a decade! Between the podcast, your regular content, painting copious amounts of miniatures, and the Courtesy Flush you guys have gotten me through 6+ months of sobriety and getting my shit together after one hell of a year. For that, my family (even though they don't know who you are) and I are eternally grateful! As a full-time single parent; there's nothing better or more therapeutic than settling down to some comfy content from the BPL and enjoying my hobby after the kids are asleep. Again, thank you for my sanity and for getting me through some tough times.

Mister Tex, belated congratulations on a decade on the Tube and great to hear you had fun in Cleveland. Q: Do you happen to know if ELDONIOUSREX will be releasing an art pack for the Marauder?

John Benson

Hail the returning heroes! Glad y’all made it back from the wilds of Cleveland. The folks you had on the podcast had a great energy, hope y’all have them back on in the future.

Yawg

Glad to hear my city has treated you well enough. Can't wait to see how the stream goes.

Congrats on the 10 years! Here's to many more years of Tom(badil)foolery.

Erdanya

Yay!

The charger, huh? That's one I haven't heard about, makes me rather curious.

Gardefan

Hilarious podcast episode. I. Glad you got to get some R and R.
