Honestly, at the risk of sound like a craft-brew loving Millennial, I recently gave up morning coffee and switched to brewing ground cacao. It's easy enough to make - you can just infuse it directly in the water, and then filter out the bits with a french-press mesh....or you could just french press is straight, but the cleanup is a pain for no real advantage. It tastes pretty damn good, IMO. Also, Theobromine > Caffeine from my perspective.

I hope things are semi returning to normal. I would have reacted similar given what happened. Either way with what happened, I continue to support you. QUESTION - We have seen wonderful series such as Arcanum and Homeworld (Two of my favorite series as we could tell it was done with a love of the game) Are there any other personal favorites that you haven't done a series on?

It is not about acceptance, intellectual honesty, consistency or truthfulness. It's meta-ethical nihilism at it's finest, where nothing is wrong or right and all is just a powerplay. Therefore it's not wrong to go after a person in the most vile way if it helps achieve the goal - being, kicking down the "person of interest" in this case by "any means necessary". As awful as it sounds, really. Though to be fair, I have no idea who are the Space Game Junkies, so... I may be uncharitable here? If so, I apologize.

The funny thing is the Imperial Knight is, at least for ranged weapons, about the equivalent of the Urbanmech with a standard Imperial Knight having roughly the same armament at an Urbie with an AC20 and a machinegun though it has a faster movement speed and better CQC weapons. So lets say a standard Imperial Knight vs an Atlas the Atlas has a decided firepower advantage and in most circumstances the Atlas would just destroy the Knight. Hell a good portion of the Battletech heavy mechs and even a few medium mechs could deal with the Knight. On a side note an assult lance(4 mechs) could probably easily take on a Warhound class Titan from 40k as a lance of Imperial Knights(3 mechs) can do the same

Sorry to bring the subject up especially with the moving on and all. But, just wanted to warn off other community members of going to the "Space Game Junkies" discord. Not to get too deep into the details, but the associated person got brought up there. I mentioned what had happened to you and the community, and they considered that worthy of negative treatment and then threats, which were then backed by their top moderator. Was just a hell of a negative experience and didn't want others to stumble into that. Especially ironic given that I'm also of the alphabet and from Africa. Made some of this recording feel especially poignant. And just to add to that, thanks for being you and what you do Tex, I mean that. Most days I feel like I don't belong anywhere at all anymore. Especially with experiences like I had today. Feels like to be around the communities that are apparently about acceptance of those like me, I am required to be okay with any tactic and any collateral damage done in "our" name - which I definitely can't be. And then when I don't get in line, or don't do it fast or enthusiastically enough for their liking, well... With your integrity, and your crew, I can at least escape and just enjoy the mechs for a while. There's little enough oasis out there now, so I'm glad for your strength during this too, I worried we were going to have another down. Not even sure how you do it, honestly, but I'm glad you do. Thanks for everything.

I just told my partner about the audiobook narration and she went "Sweet!!!" She played tabletop way back in the day and we both love the cheesy 80's aesthetic of the old stuff. I have yet to see a battletech grog anywhere near as bad as a 40k one. 99.9% of arguing among battletech fans is good natured factional chest beating or the ever present era elitism which really only has the same 3 or 4 arguments floating around a small section of the fans. Played in two different communities, and am part of a couple discord and Facebook groups and I think I could count on one hand the number of people I have seen be THAT bad.

I was really happy to hear about the audiobook stuff. I've been trying to live a healthier lifestyle and part of that is listening to audio content while I do a daily walk. I had to scroll back to understand the topic. I'm one who is staying. The "Anonymous-Net" is pure Evil. You so correctly stated that they don't have context or understanding of the words they throw out. My GF was in WW2. My Uncle was in the 101st Airborne in Nam. I got med'd out of MCRD SD. So, I tried. I'm fine with people saying things on or in their platform or realm of influence. The problem is social media has turned the 1st Amendment into a weapon for those who have never read the Constitution enough to understand it. They seem to have an ideal that they can say what they want & the propper response is to shame & blame those who disagree. Nobody wants or is capable of entering a dialog that might actually curry favor to their views. Tex, you are a pinnacle of the Battletech lore. You renewed my interest in the worldbuilding of it. I'm an RPG, not a minis guy. I agree the best & responsible way is to go quietly if you don't like it. That is true of everything. I reiterate I'm staying. Thank you for all you do.

I will buy every one of these Stackpole audio books as soon as they come out. I have been waiting for more unabridged Battletech audio for years. Are you doing the Warrior Trilogy first? Also if you had to customize an Awesome in 3075 what would it look like and how would it be outfitted?

Wait a month or two until the stock is replaced. Then buy " Game of Armored Combat. It will have everything you need to get started (including 8 mechs). I recommend playing with just that for a while to make sure you love (not like) the game. It can get expensive if you let it. There are several decent Facebook BT groups.

I am very happy to hear MR Welch has done so well. He's earned it.
