Man that's the best way I've heard MWO described: Breakfast as disappointment. *Sigh* it could have been SO GOOD. -_- This is why when I wanna get my MechWarrior pvp combat on, I go back to MW4 - there's a group on FB that still plays this version and they're pretty awesome.

2021-12-30 12:09:20 +0000 UTCOoooh. Rise and Fall...man I love that book. I keep it flipped around to avoid creeping people out. I have an entire shelf dedicated to books on social theory, economics, anthropology and history, but your average person doesn't understand my degree or why I study why I study. Once I feel they can grasp it, then I pull out the "scary" books.

2021-12-30 11:57:18 +0000 UTCPoint you make at 34-35 minutes in Tex - that's pretty punk rock of you man. i dig it.

2021-12-30 11:37:52 +0000 UTCThis has probably been asked before, so I apologize if so, but my question is open to anyone who feels like answering. If any of you had a chance to bring one mech to life and pilot it, what would it be? Myself, I've fallen in love with the Marauder II thanks to the last Battletech video, so that's the machine I would go with personally.

2021-12-19 15:47:11 +0000 UTCGood evening, Tex. Had a thought for a future commercial. The 20th anniversary release of the Battletech cartoon. Done in universe with short clips of interviews with the writers and producers. It would be a fun nod to one of the weirdest things in the setting.

2021-12-19 02:48:01 +0000 UTCIn a world where the Law goes off the rails, one Train Marshall must put things back on track. Coming this summer, Knife Train.

2021-12-18 03:52:51 +0000 UTCThanks for the explanation on the Van Zandt info. I believe it is the mundane details that really make a setting shine when you're experiencing it, because that's where you see some artists passions in full. Those little weird details that make a setting or project feel like it is a living and breathing entity. I'm glad Van Zandt is becoming one of those little "Oh, hey, that's funny" moments in a setting. A detail doesn't need to be important to be incredible.

2021-12-17 15:11:20 +0000 UTCGiven that as far as we know you are not in a romantic relationship and also based off of your statement that the new location redacted is a Fixer-Upper. Would it be correct to refer to you as Single and ready to Shingle?
2021-12-16 23:04:53 +0000 UTCQuestion: Is there still a BPL spelling bee happening? I’m SO down to watch/listen to that ! Congrats on the homestead Nothing like working on your own home or land

2021-12-16 23:02:28 +0000 UTCADVICE: So of you are going to pick a room and soundproof it in any way, there are a couple of things to consider. The sound insulating property of fiberglass I insulation is less that 0.1. It's just not what it does. If you can replace it with stone wool, or cellulose, or foam, you will see a LARGE improvement. (We use stone wool batting in the studios) Sheet rock: very important, there is a company in Texas that used to make a product called "Quiet Rock" and it works wonders. It's not going to do the job by itself, but it is certainly a very large contributor. (We had double thick layer in a display room and it could be 110Db inside the room and 85Db outside the room) Windows: single pane windows are not good for thermal OR acoustic insulation. You dont necessarily need some super duper triple pane vacuum sealed ultra window, but at the very least get double paned windows and hang some thick curtains. At my house we don't know it's raining until someone opens a door and looks outside. Just food for thought, I know that is going to be a ling way down a laundry list of things to do, but I hope it helps when the time comes.

2021-12-15 02:58:32 +0000 UTCQuestion, what are the audio books you narrated? I want to keep my eye out for thier release, however, if there's and NDA, then I understand if you have to keep your mouth shut. Also, I'm sending Fiesta Pails to Albania for Xmas. And I won't stop until the sell you those MIGs.
2021-12-14 17:38:39 +0000 UTCHey Tex, got any fun opinions on "weird guns", ie. FS2000, Mateba Unica 6, anything made by Kel-tec? Also, is there such a thing as a BPL "range day", or should there be?

2021-12-14 17:03:56 +0000 UTCMr. Crowind, Thanks for all you do when working with the Black Pants Legion. I would love to learn how to edit like you do.
2021-12-14 10:10:30 +0000 UTCI bet the "Location Redacted Crew" moved to Lake Wobegon. Congrats to all on the move and the purchase. Tex, if it's not too much of an imposition, could you give as many of the people on the TTBT crew a good 'ol POB(Pat On the Back) and a "Good job." for me? Maybe even throw in one of those nods of approval as well? You could just do it randomly and confuse them if you want. Anyway, Take care and Good Day!

2021-12-14 07:32:02 +0000 UTCHell, not only would I be happy if you blew the Patreon money on Hookers and coke, I'd be proud if you did.
2021-12-14 05:42:53 +0000 UTCMr. Tex I do appreciate all the things you do. I am always happy when you stream and I try to be there when you are streaming, but if I am not, I do watch them when I can
2021-12-14 02:58:59 +0000 UTCCongrats on the new home man! Grew up fixing up old victorian houses and it is a process but worth it.
2021-12-14 02:35:47 +0000 UTCAlbania might be giving you the cold shoulder because the BPL is technically a charity, so you wanting even one MIG is just fucking weird to them.

2021-12-14 01:08:02 +0000 UTCThanks for the answer Tex. I love history, and know just enough to get myself into trouble. And as for the book I mentioned, the reason I like it is it doesn't cover any of the important people. It is the story of a regular German soldier (specifically machine gunner) who started his service as a replacement sent to Stalingrad.

2021-12-14 00:55:23 +0000 UTCQuestion/comment. Couldn’t you use the train as a sound effect for the TTB videos? After all Van Zandt is pretty rural by the looks of it. Welcome to the fun of homeownership and fixing things up. My house doesn’t have flooring at the moment I’m in the process of demo work for new vinyl/ fake wood floors.
Michael Kimberling
2021-12-14 00:42:40 +0000 UTCAlso I can't hear the train at all.
2021-12-14 00:03:20 +0000 UTCPerfect length for starting up a big pot of chili to cook
2021-12-14 00:02:51 +0000 UTCCongrats on now OWNING a Location Redacted! Does it have Burt Gummer's basement yet, and if not, when will it be finished? ;)

2021-12-13 22:05:30 +0000 UTCUnfortunately the answer is no. A few novels give the line that anyone touches comstar personal will face a interdiction. Comstar is for the most part untouchable up until the clans invaded.
2021-12-13 21:56:56 +0000 UTC"I ain't in it for the power / And I ain't in it for my health! / I ain't in it for the glory of anything at all / And I sure ain't in it for the wealth! / But I'm in it 'til it's over and I just can't stop / If you wanna' get it done - you gotta' do it yourself! / And I like my music like I like my life... / EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYTHING ELSE"

2021-12-13 21:32:38 +0000 UTCHey BPL, with the flooding of new players from GW and the renewed interest for tabletop. Do you think it would be a good idea to do a video or serie on tabletop 101? Not a complicated live stream or campaign or anything, just a this is the basic, those are the classic, ect.
2021-12-13 21:25:11 +0000 UTCCongrats on the house! It's daunting as hell at first, but it's great to have your own place, got mine last year. Hope it checked off all the boxes and stays in good repair.

2021-12-13 20:16:22 +0000 UTCCan Santa bring me a Rollins leaver action 45-70? Standard issue for BPL?

2021-12-13 20:16:14 +0000 UTCQuestion: Howdy Tex, I'm designing a pirate crew for my battletech rpg and have a question about mech construction. The idea is that the pirates were once a salvage company so I like the idea that a lot of their equipment was once used for salvage and have been weaponized. How much of their original functionality would you leave in the mech versus the weapons and armor you'ld add? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

2021-12-13 20:10:26 +0000 UTCI just realized I forgot to eat on my god damn lunch.

2021-12-13 20:08:04 +0000 UTCQUESTION, since I can't find it on Sarna or any of the documents I have - ComStar doesn't interfere (cough) with messages, but do they deliver the messages too or do local mail services pass them on to locals? Because ComStar personnel and the HPG compounds are protected, but I'm surprised jumping the courier between the compound and the recipient isn't a more common thing.
