You just did, mr. Klink, thank you.

Very good advice. Something I need to remember as well! You nailed it!

I think a cat is totally undervalued. A good cat makes for a great companion. Best wishes bud, I wish there was something I could say to make it easier.

Tex, I’ve said it before, but we all love your work, and look forward to the quality and not quantity. I may have to hit you up on the producer nod on the resume!! Two questions: 1-I think you have a desk job similar to mine (different industry), and I’ve found myself losing focus as of late. You seem like a guy who can power through shit, what do you do to get yourself in the right headspace? Maybe I’ll get a good suggestion. 2-Light one- have you played and beaten the Mech 3/Pirate’s Moon/Pirate Campaign. I never could beat that campaign as a kid. Take care bud, I’m glad you have the help you need.

Tex, this update made me feel melancholy in a good way, but for some reason I find myself often appreciating such a spirit, kind of like fall. It's hard to explain I guess, and I'm a bit of an odd duck I suppose. Everything I've seen from the BPL had either made me feel jovial, compassion/commiseration, or some other positive sentiment. I'm certain I'm not the only one. Thanks for hanging in there good sir.

I know, I was practically co-raised by a cat from 2-18yo, it took years until I was able to mention or think of her without crying. I know the sharp edges of the loss of a loved companion get blunted with time while the void around the memories will always remain as big as the connection shared. Since August, we've taken care of a friends cat that she couldn't care for properly anymore, that cat, along with other chosen family has been essential for keeping it together the first few weeks. It's getting easier to manage the loss, thank you for your kind words.

Depression sucks, and it's a struggle sometimes to do things as much as you like, but hey, you're saying yourself with the Warhammer: "Sometimes, Good Enough is perfect". Advice for miniatures painting, advice for life.

Been there, did that, watched my best friend of 15 years waste away and take a piece of my soul with him. It...it gets easier with time, and it helped that my sister's cat immediately adopted me (until he passed from diabetic complications)...but there's still a hole in me that I'm not really able to fill. If you can, give it some time, let yourself heal (much as you can), and don't be afraid to let a new cat in. I wish I could.

It'll take a whole lot of litteral miracles to make 2022 even remotely close to breaking even after a chest tumour the size of a chicken egg robbed me of my ten and a half years old cat companion on jan 3rd...

Your not alone brother, depression is a mental fucker 1000's of peeps deal with. We got your back!

In 3060 he got a surprise visit from his childhood friend, Sigrid Bloch, whom he'd nick-named Turbo for her love of Urbanmechs (she named him Aedalbrandr after he set four mechs on fire by accident within the span of a week). She showed up with a frankenmech she called the Urbanlord, which wasn't much taller, but was MUCH more stout. She joined his crew after helping him deal with pirates who were after his ship, assumedly because of something his uncle did. They fought for whichever side was most beneficial to the FRR during the Fed-Com Civil War, and in 3066 discovered a Blakist kidnapping and organ-harvesting scheme and spent the rest of the year trying to find enough evidence to bring them to light, failing, and narrowly escaping the attack on Outreach. Sorry for this being long, but the initial draft was twice as long.

Two years later, the outpost he was assigned to, at the corner of FRR, Ghost Bear, and Draconis space, was attacked by a "rogue" platoon of Kuretans. When he learned that the RFL-5CS Rifleman he was in charge of was now short one pilot due to artillery. He "borrowed" a NeuroHelmet, which he'd already used to attune to the Rifleman to be able to move it for repairs and testing, and jumped into the mech, only to accidentally ND through the door, pilot sniping a Raven which was trying to hack his mech. He proceeded to catch a Locust in the knee, putting it onto the ground, but got fucked up by a Kentaro and a UM-R68, losing his right arm, left Med-Laser, and having both legs lock-up from the Kentaro's lasers. As he destroyed the Kentaro the Urbie readied another volley, only to be taken out by a PPC from a Ghost Bear dropship which had headed their distress call. The clanners proceeded to mop up the remaining Draconis forces, gifting Specialist Haevardthsson a Clan Laser AMS, as they believed that he was operating on skill, and not luck, while being the last of the 4 mechs at the outpost. He didn't correct them. He was switched to being a mechwarrior after command learned what had happened. Upon exiting the KungsArme in 3058 he once again returned to his families garage, this time with a Marauder (sans weaponry) gifted to him for his service since the battle of Tukayyd. He proceeded to leave again a year later when his uncle was murdered, leaving his Union-Class dropship and a million C-Bills to Svanthor. He proceeded to turn the Gambler's Bay into a mobile mech-repair facility, charging more than usual in exchange for complementary repair work to get your mech into (semi) working order. Anything more would cost extra. He used much of his part of the gains to upgrade the Marauder to a Marauder II 4S, with the PPCs replaced by LB-10X 80mm Mydron Excel Autocannons and forgetting about the dorsal mount in favor of more armor and ammo.

Okay, here goes, since you said you wanted to hear, but didn't specify a method: Svanthor Haevardthsson is a 32-year-old (as of 3067) Tukayydr who commands the merc company "Garage Jobs .Inc" The companies rating is C, but more than a third of their actual work is transporting mechwarriors who don't have their own dropship or mechanic crew, charging a high rate for stay on their Union, the "Gambler's Bay" (the luck of being named so similarly to the Gambier Bay is not lost on him or his crew.) His journey to mercdom started in 3052 when his class was mistakenly allowed to go on a field trip to the Royal Museum of War in Port Racice, right as Clan Smoke Jaguar was initiating planetary entry. A lone Elemental which had accidentally infiltrated behind ComGuard's lines attacked the Museum, only to be put down by the Captain, then 17, with a Kuretan Bomb-Lance which had mistakenly not been deactivated. After running to the nearest ComGuard post away from the front, he and the rest of his able-bodied classmates were drafted into the militia and tasked with escorting the civilians remaining in the city *out*. After the battle, he returned to working at his families mech garage (utility mechs) with honors for bravery, despite protests that he'd just panicked and forgot that the bomb-lance should have been deactivated. The next year he joined the 1st Tyr as a Mechtech.

Jokes on you Tex, I'm already on ALL the lists! But some good news for you. I got some financial things settled and was able to increase my contribution to this production of insanity...or you can spend it in some sketchy Canopus house of ill repute. Either way a good use of it.

Whit17

I look forward to these updates Tex, and I know you hear it a lot, but your voice is just very nice to listen to. Even when you are talking about heavy stuff. Hope things improve, look to the future!

Never apologize for starting off like you did this time. We all have shit in our lives, my great aunt has been in the hospital for a week. We can get by if we are there for and support each other. You've got it made here Tex, a bunch of "therapists" you can open up to. And the best part for you is WE ARE PAYING YOU! Now for some good news, my uncle is giving me a M1917 rifle.
