Man.. @16:00 that's been me since 2012... just so many users and one particularly bad employer that absolutely took advantage of my desire to help and work hard. Union job, got one vacation in 6 years, very high speed at times... *sigh* Then you realize the job chewed you up and stolen from you what it can never give back.

I tip my hat sir!! I’m glad that you have found some more balance!! Sounds like an amazing path that has been struck, and I shall follow! Be well man! That’s a damn good πŸ₯©! Laird

Tex, I wish I was born to substrate. I grew up with powdered milk, govt cheese, pinto beans or rice, and half a pancake for dinner. Once a week there was fried chicken and mashed potatoes or hamburger helper and a can of something green. That was my life until I was 9 or 10. Half a pancake, some beans, and whatever they shoveled up as a school lunch. Every day. Like I said last week, make a higher level in Patreon if you can, and need the money. I'll kick in the max because as of a few years ago, for the first time in my life I can afford to truly invest in my hobbies. Hell, these days I burn $2k a month just on ammo to have fun at the range. It's not particularly a big drain. Battletech is a hobby of mine, and I'll put into it (through you) what I can as it makes the hobby more accessible and just fun. You personally make the hobby a better one, and the community a better place.

Two things, Tex; First, I'm very happy for you that you're coming back on balance. Sometimes simply recognizing that something has to change and making a decision is enough to relieve some of that pressure off of you. At least, that's how it is for me a lot of the time. Second, I have been inspired by the Black Pants Legion to finally submit a story to Shrapnel. You've said earlier that you wouldn't mind getting emailed stuff like that so I'll send you guys a copy for your thoughts and feedback (I just ask that you don't publish it anywhere since that would disqualify me). I didn't send it earlier because I thought that would be inappropriate with everything you were going through.

Question - Is the Taurian Concordat designed to be space Texas? Because that is what it seems like pre-helm memory core. After that, it seems like it's the afterthought that is now allowed to produce All the 3025 mechs.

"If someone else comes on here, updates you and says I'm fine, I'm not fine. Shoot them." Tex, do you get that 4chan found a flag in the middle of nowhere based on contrails shown on a live stream? Do you want the editor shot? Goat? Think of all the 50 gallon drums of hot dogs that would go to waste, all the songs that would not be sung.

That's the worst advice I've ever heard. The last reliable person in any job gets the work of the others that aren't. I've seen it, I've felt it in several jobs. Including the Army.

"Be the last reliable person in any situation." Damn, that hits home in ways I was never able to articulate.

Going for the muzzle loading cannon or will the [Location Redacted] ordinance board be adopting the Armstrong Gun?

I salute you Tex. Its very VERY hard to figure out you have a problem...and even harder to actually do something about it. In 6 months when you're sorta settled into your new gig, I hope you can look back and say "god damn, why I did not do this 2 years ago." I had a similar thing happen to me couple years ago. Things would be so much better for...things if I had, but I try not to focus on the negative hiding in the positive.

Making UHF a reality, love it.

Oh, and you and Boatbomber sounds like one hell of a party…

Tex, The minute you said you quit the old job I was smiling. When you started to talk about the new job and the changes ahead, I was nodding along and grinning like a maniac. All hail the new stupidity. I cannot wait for what comes next. (Are you going for a Napoleon pattern for the cannon?) I feel like the best is yet to come, and I’m excited to see it happen. (If Tex Talks History is happening, I’m just saying I did my thesis on Meiji Japan…)

Hell yeah man! Progress is good! What're your thoughts on trains as a viable alternative to air travel? Would you ride a train cross-country?
