POST WARHAMMER UPDATE

Comments

Mr. Tex, would you consider DLC a mod? This is very much a "Is cereal soup?" question.

You seem to be feeling better. I'm pleased. Keep up the good work.

After this update talking about Magistratum Mundanus, it got the gears turning wondering what heist team whiskey would be like in Shadowrun. Or, god help us, if you mad lads praised z0rg and ran kill team whiskey in the 41st millennium. You're definitely sounding less exhausted and ground down post-Warhammer, which I hella glad to note. Not gonna repeat all the well wishes for you to take it easy...you do you, Tex. You got this. And above all else as my old man used to say, "Illegitimi non Carborundum"

Tex describing the Van Zant militia units makes me want stickers of all of them for my tablet tablet so I can play alpha strike and CBT in style.

Hey Tex, I emailed you and my friend Pobby about challenge coins. He sent you some pictures of a metal/graphite casting process that makes crystal clear reproductions at scale. They are AMAZING. I know you get flooded, seems like this is the best conduit to ping you. Pobby is self taught, home shop, knows-how-to-make-everything-but-money badass and I'd love to see you guys working together. If you need help with the art, you can trust his design skills, too. He's a legend in the Maker/Burner art community as one of the bastards who you go to to get shit done. I hope this works out!

Hey Tex, quick question for you. Have you ever seen The Kentucky Fried Movie? Your comments about Detroit recently reminded me of the scene with the evil warlord sending people to Detroit as punishment.

Van Zandt militia idea, taking a note from the comment before me. Sorry lol. A bunch of logging mechs hiding in trenches/fox holes, who pop out and cut the mech equivalent of Achilles Tendons on attacking mechs, or you know, vehicles, infantry, what have you. Call them some kind of timber pun.

Van Zandt militia idea: weaponize a bunch of the megafauna the likes of which the Cattlemaster was made to deal with, then sic them on your target with an 80mm mortar full of angry juice pheromones and a TAG laser pointer. Also, most ridiculous looking mech? My vote goes to the Huron Warrior.

The only effect a biased take on the Capellans could have is to actually *improve* the facts about Capellans.

An unbiased analysis can still conclude that the Capellan government sucks.

TIL that "american vacation" is what my vacations are called; and I think that's probably horrifying Cheers on the episode it's very good; I'll probably spend some of my time off this week re-watching it again

Malina

This is impossible. The Capellan government sucks. Then, there's Kurita.

BPL, I believe an unbiased look at all the various factions in Battletech would be an excellent series for “ Tex Talks Battletech”.

I appreciate the nod to folks who used this stuff as a springboard to look into the other aspects of the Battletech setting. It's fun to find the gems. I ended up gravitating towards the Hanseatic League as this weird place in the deep periphery building itself up through ruthless mercantile capitalism. They didn't end up making it in the end, but there's a story to tell and I do.

A) Thank you for bringing up that the Magistracy of Canopus is more than catgirls and cocaine. They’re very much a backwater territory with good medical technology and high illiteracy rates. They’re my second favorite faction after mercs/freelancers. B) I love your explanation of Van Zandt, reminds me somewhat of my time in Abilene. An odd mixture of cultures that you wouldn’t expect in west Texas if you weren’t aware of Dyess. The militia challenge coin sounds amazing. C) I think that the past few Tex Talks could’ve been broken into two videos. The Warhammer and Marauder in particular and that could’ve been 4 excellent videos between the two of them. The Mad Cat and Catapult were about right to me. But I’m just another asshole from the internet with another opinion. I’ll still be here supporting what y’all do, because it’s been awesome and watching a small, passionate production team swinging for the fences it great to see. D) *insert firearms sex joke here*
