Glad you are recharging your batteries Tex. Working on something special to celebrate the Traveller BPL podcast and hoping we get another crazy game in the future. And here is the link for anyone interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXmckwMQobE

Lessons Learned

I'm late to offer my congratulations, but thank you for an excellent episode. I watched the premier and watched it again later that night with my wide-awake infant son. I smiled, bleary eyed, as "Uncle Tex" kept us company. Be well, and keep your powder dry!

The Raid Shadow Legumes ads for discount Dan sounds like a fantastic idea! +1 YES! No questions this time, just enjoying carnivore diet and being reminded that I NEED to do the same exercises [treadmill] each morning, no bs excuses. No half-ass, just whole ass. ROW-Row- row-your boat! If we can't get that MIG, maybe an old Cargo Ship or Cruiser Ship saved from the scrapyard? :) Compressed Spahgeht and all sorts of shenanigans!

Tex, there's a big difference between "taking pride" and being "prideful"

Hey Tex, so you don't know me, I don't know you beyond your work. With that set, unless you have overwhelming bills, or restrictions, or other legitimate external forces, you need to also count yourself as part of the crew. You are part of the machine that you have helped build, and just like the rest of the mechanism, it is time you took a rest. You're not a soviet aircraft carrier, you do not need to be kept running 24/7/365. You know what that does to machinery. Go, rest, recuperate, have a maintenance cycle. You are integral to the machine you have constructed.

Greetings Sir! Congratulations on the very Fine film. In all honesty, it is better than much of Hollyweird’s recent productions. Gun query, as my budget only affords one: Ruger AAR-556 or Springfield Saint AR-15? Also, with good news: the Lords of the Battlefield fan website has been recovered from the dead. Fans continue digging deep to keep our hobby history alive.

There is an entire college education tract about logistics. Alternatively get into a logistics company, be it LTL truck or international freight companies. There's options out there.

Thank you Tex, the film looked great on the projector in the garage. For my question, they say that "amateurs study tactics while professionals study logistics" how does one study logistics? I don't think I could afford nor desire to work for Amazon.

Save your voice and just giggle if you feel compelled....first off my condolences to Shanks' family...if there is anything we can do we will. Secondly I've never felt you an egotist...its actually why I backed you before backing any other creator, I knew my money wasn't going to buy access to a friend group or chachkies...it was going to good people with a madman at the helm. Lastly my youngest daughter solidified her title of Squig....I was was hanging out with her on my day off and she was absolutely into everything. She found a tube of gumballs one of her older sisters had "hidden" she grabbed it and he eyes lit up when she heard that it made a bunch of noise...its a three foot tube...then she realized "I could eat those...maybe...yes, fuck it we ball" and tried to get it open. She wasn't having much luck until she grabbed the end without the cap and then clubbed the couch...I'm in the bathroom when I hear this loud pop and gumballs pour on the floor. I run in and she is just cackling holding gumballs in her hands up at the sky like a fucking fremen during the rain. I start grabbing them off the floor while telling her "no you can't have those you'll choke and die and no baby coffins on my watch!" She laughs and tries to beat me to gumballs...for the next two and a half hours she keeps finding more that fell under the couch to the extent that she almost got her head stuck trying to get at one....she thought it was the best game ever

Good morning/afternoon/evening Mr. Tex feel free to read quietly. Going to fight at an SCA this weekend, Oct 10th-14, and have been creating a Playlist of hype music to listen to before going into a tourney or a melee, and while I've been having trouble finding the specific piece, I have playing in my head the Blackwatch theme from the Amaris Civil War 2 parter. While my persona is nordic, I carry that song in my head in hopes that I can fight like mad bastards wearing kilts and win a few melees because of it. The Twycross video was amazing. I know you do not like being praised, but you, your team, the artists, and voice talent have done an impeccable job that shames the movie industry that exists today. I have had more fun and excitement waiting to see when the next video drops then learning what movies will be coming out. Anyhow, keep on keeping on. And while you may not want to, just take some breathers to rest. You deserve it, despite how you wish to keep doing.

Fireonfriendly

Not for Tex, for the Patreon regulars; can we standardize a header to messages for the whole "saving your voice" thing?

Kasperl Stormcrow

*save voice as necessary* Well that fucking sucks. If Shanks surviving family reaches out for any help you know we're good for trying to help out any way we can. That said, the Twycross episode was fucking magnificent and some people have been snipping up some of the bits and now they are doing the rounds on tumblr of all places.

Kasperl Stormcrow

Hey Tex, please feel free to save your voice. I was rewatching Twycross and I noticed that while it had plenty of humorous bits, the main script lacked a good Tex style quote or hyperbole. Is that on purpose ? Happy Battletech noises for printing the original Cataphract from the Liao Handbook. I have an Original Marauder II from the Wolf's Dragoons book and I'm still on the lookout for the Battleax based on the old Battledroids mini and the illustration in Battletechnology. Any BT models you would like to see ?

Nonkel Bob

Mr Tex, please feel free to save your voice, this is a long ‘un. You sir, are an auteur. It is completely understandable that YouTube throttles your work. Like many auteurs, your work will rarely, if ever, be recognised or embraced by the “mainstream” public. The corollary of this is that the audience you do find will not only greatly appreciate your creative vision, but also remain incredibly loyal to it. On a completely unrelated note: Have you ever considered adding a script editor to your production team? There’s a reason production companies and publishers employ editors. It saves time (and thus money) during the writing of a script or novel by reducing the number of drafts needed. Also, ongoing discussion and feedback during the writing process can greatly assist the writer in clarifying and refining their work. Please note that this observation in no way meant to disparage your writing, which is excellent. I am neither an editor or a writer, simply a former teacher with a lifelong love of language and the written word. So, if this suggestion in any way annoys you, please feel free to tell me to go fuck myself.

Condolences to Steel Shanks's family, may their memory be a blessing. Community is rebellion; our culture pushes us to isolate, to only engage in those monetized para-social relationships YouTube and TikTok love best but are ultimately empty. There are more of us than there are of them and we shouldn't forget that.

Ginger_Bitters

Thank you Tex for being you. The AUX and the BPL love you man. Look forward to all posts and streams. Save Your Voice!!! 😉

Gun2Mage

G'Day Tex. Thanks for all the work you and "The Boys" have put in, TTB is my go to "Put on while sorting/building LEGO" playlists. I wanted to say that I will be heading to PAX Aus tomorrow (Australian Friday) and for the first time Catalyst will be there and of course Jerry will also be there, so there will be a bit of Battletech love. I'll make sure to ask them "Where's Tex?"

Lord Travis Lance the 3rd Matheson esq

Tex. Brother. You and the team mean a lot to me. I'll reach out. Thank you guys so much.

Koehler4Hire

RIP Steel Shanks....my condolences.

Thanks Tex. Hail Cargonia!

Tex, again I say to you this film was wonderful. I continue to rope people into watching both kinds of Tex Talks, BattleTech AND History. I really look forward to the Magistratum Mundanus, or Magistratum Mandummus, or Maggistrata Mundumbass, depending on what powder is coursing through Ricky's veins. I am grieved to hear of Steel Shank's passing, but happy that we were able to enjoy his works. I continue to preach Battletech at the store, and am running Necromo Nightmare this month as a standalone. Keep on Keeping on, not that you need me to tell you that. Joy of the day to you and yours. Northwind Forever.

BPL to Tex: you need to take a rest and recover. Tex: No. BPL: We are serious, you need to rest up. Its ok. Really. Tex: *Emphatically* NO BPL: Tex, the more you say no the more we- Tex: NO! MrToBeNamedLater: Do I seriously have to dad-talk your Texan ass if you don’t take some time to recover? So be it. You’re no good to anyone, especially the charities you so meaningfully support, if you work yourself to an extended hospital stay or an early grave, brother. In BT parlance: have the wisdom of Aleksandr Kerensky when he was fighting the Periphery in the opening stages of the Civil War to know when to pull back, recover and reinforce. I’d give a real-world historical analogy but you’re orders of magnitude the historian I am. I’m sure you know of some pertinent examples to cite.

MrToBeNamedLater

It isn't just BPL, Youtube's recommendations are so useless any more that almost none of the channels I actually subscribe to show up there. I just have to remember to check my subscriptions for anything new on a regular basis.

Berthold

Thanks to you and the team for the great work, stayed up to watch the premier didn't get to sleep until 4:30 in the morning no sleep until Twycross

Geoffrey Heathcote

RIP Steel Shanks

The Twycross film was fantastic. Was glad my work day was as dead as it was or else I might not have caught most of the film. Had the film on my work PC and on a display PC on the show floor so I could watch it no matter which side of the store I was on. Pateron supporters in Xenonauts? If I do die there I hope it is hilarious and violent. Have a good one. Or several. You are deserving. It cannot be stopped.

Mnemonicman

Tex of the No Sleep Legion, once again Tex runs the Battletech Speakeasy RIP Steel Shanks Every time you say team effort, we say you are the leader of the team. If you bankrupt yourself, then you won't be able to help the others anymore.

Jay McIntyre

Well done Tex! You and the team should be VERY proud 👏 now get some rest Sir. Seyla 😴 💤 🛏

Nerd_Power

Kick ass and taking names with whiskey soaked awesome sauce! Now relax that sweet sweet voice of yours… don’t worry Tex! We got your back… get bent Google, show Tex the love. May Steel rest in peace, and find the forever nerdom a familiar place

Belariean of Canada

God speed sir! May you find a moment of relaxation to play some games or read a book for no other reason than personal enjoyment.

ManUnmade

Excellent job Tex! On the video on everything you guys do. You guys help a lot of people out more than you know. I just wanna say from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
