Tex save your voice! when and where will the Magistratum Mundanus RPG coming out! I love the mayhem you helped cause. i want to unleash this on some friends who never listened to it! (should be great) Thank You for your effort and honesty.

DealerOfDeth

Howdy tex, save your voice. As far as a con, I'd love to go, meet everybody, and given last update you'll never believe I have no experience running one, I have organized several BBQ and chili contests though Regarding poetry, most my favorites have wither been mentioned or done, however I do enjoy silverstein, frost, and chambers. YouTube de idea to do a funny thing g with twycross and just...not tell ne it even dropped at all, I'd only found out because hired steel dropped their diorama, Helene has devastated a good bit of where I am but we got lucky, cheers and take care, today is the longest you've ever lived.

Urchin

Hey there Tex. Save your voice. So I looked at my last comment and saw I misspelled Resist. It was supposed to Resist and Bite. Just ran my first official game as a Demo Team member. Always a learning experience, especially since now I have to deal with the foreign concept of 'self promotion.' As ever I am here for the memes, the history, the hobby, and for the promise of an evergreen Wide Tom's Haus of Beans. May Tom's Lima Bean Soufflé never collapse. Joy of the day to you and the team, and Northwind Forever.

Bolo Unit BRL of the Line

As a Spaniard, I feel betrayed Tex hasn't started the UAD Spanish campaign he promised to much. As a space nerd, I miss Traveller. As a BPL enthusiast, I am weird. As PERUN watcher, his segment was hilarious. As a Tex enjoyer, I am satisfied.

Raya

A panel where Tex smokes cigars and drinks whiskey. Tex is the Ron White of BattleTech.

Hope this finds you well and/or functional. For a serious poem, my go to the Litany against Fear from Dune, over the years I've taught myself that the word Fear can be replaced with other emotions, like rage, sorrow, anxiety. It's helped center myself in rough times. It reminds me to never panic, its my Rule number 1...don't panic, also nod to Douglas Adam's. And that a cooler head will prevail, the suffering still happens but to acknowledge it and deal with it accordingly and hopefully come out the other side mostly intact.. For merch coins would be cool, Van Zandt coins, Cargonia coins, general BPL coins. Would this be something you'd be comfortable sourcing out to the aux? Not trying to volunteer anyone but I know there are a lot of printers in the aux. Just submit the specifics for the coins so manufacture can be relatively standardized. Also thanks for the shout out on behalf of a member of the Van Zandt Free State Postal Party

The Mailman

I will help run the power plant at Van Zadt. As Van Zandt is a big place, it will be more like grid distribution Czar! With a personal Battlemech that is used to shine a light on things that need to be fixed. Thus, I choose the Guillotine! Maximum headlamp! Pure 5000k LED. "You there! Why is that pole lying on it's side?" "Uhm.. I dunno sir.. I mean Czar. I can't see anything.. I'm being blinded." *Ahem* Tex, if you replace your broken foot with a shoe horn you get a double win! No feetsies problems, and you can put-on-a-shoe like a pro. Think about it. :)

Walt_Man

No need to read aloud. Forgot to comment on last update sooo you get it now. On merch, for me it depends on the merch A shirt? Nope. patches? Perhaps. That cookbook idea you were throwing around a while back? Yeah probably. 20 pound mug? If I could afford it hell yes. On the con I have no useful opinion. On poetry I havent read much little bit of poe, some Kipling and so far I like the stuff you have narrated so I figger you are the "expert" on that subject. Anyway that's all for now. GL HF DD

OtherBrother

Hi Tex, first time poster, couple quick questions. I love the idea of BPL merch, may I suggest BPL dice or objective markers? Will you be continuing your BTA 3062 playthrough anytime soon? HAIL CARGONIA!

TheSnadd

Item 1: For poems may I suggest High Flight by John Gillespie Magee Item 2: I have helped out at enough cons and events to know that trying to go 0 to 60 in one go is kind of insane. Not that something being crazy seems to pose much of a deterrent to you and your crew but maybe start small and tightly focused? I’m thinking maybe a 2 day BattleTech tournament with some cool places to hang out when you get eliminated or set it at a museum so when to are out you can go look at tanks or planes or something. The Battleship Texas would be cool but ones are it will be in drydock for a couple of years.

Jellicoe Cats

Tex please save voice. For goodness sake, please claim charity on taxes, it's an option for a reason. It doesn't mean you're doing it for bad motives, it's just one way you can look after yourself and your team. And merch and BPL meetup sounds fun. Bbq would be great. People can sign up for what to bring? Keep up your good work, you and your amazing team. Seyla.

Nerd_Power

As far as merch goes, I'm down for stuff like that but u don't need to go crazy with making stuff like coffee mugs. Coffee mugs are nice and all, but they usually fall into the category of tourist chotchkies. Pins and patches tho, that I'm here for. And as long as I can figure out a way to wherever the convention is, I'm down to attend. Oh, and about the old collector lego sets, depending on what ur trying to find, yes they absolutely can be worth more than their weight in gold. And that's assuming u can find it in the original unopened box, which good luck. Anyway, i hope u have as good as day as u can and I'm praying for u and ur team. HAIL CARGONIA!

Howdy Tex, Been a minute, save your voice. Life goes on, Grad School is going well and I feel I'm doing well [thus far]. Rest is important, especially when you are troubleshooting issues that others couldn't tackle. Also Good Gravy, the crunch does not sound good, good on you for paying your team, and the Merch sounds like a good idea, you know us, and I am excited for the Aux Challenge Coins, and I still have my Double Horse Patches. Also Hell Yeah and good luck unto your upcoming projects and operations, it sounds like a grand ol time! I've begun yet another project, Delta Green+Team Yankee+Twilight 2000, it's bonkers but It's mostly just a Unit Concept Generator at the moment, like a Polish Coastal Infantry Unit that's dedicated to Shub Niggurath or a Romanian Border Guard Unit dedicated to Hastur, or the most recent, a Norwegian Coast Guard Squadron dedicated to some kid of Cthulhu. In regards to older projects, Battletech Mercs Battalion is almost done, I have 3 Short Companies of Vehicles to Paint still, but the rest is done! Hurrah! Writing Projects are going strong, will probably post a few into the Writing Section of the Aux at some point. Thank you Tex, for making this world we interact with easier to connect with. Be Well, Rest Well, Keep on Keeping on And Praise Z0RG. [Oh Sweet Styx I wrote an essay again aaaaa]

Grimos

My grandpa who's fingers brushed 100 before he died would commonly quote "The Last Leaf" by Oliver Wendell Holmes. I worry that writing comments here for the sake of familiarity simply extends a long day. Have a good one Tex.

Captain1nsaneo

Hi Tex, please save voice. It only took about 4 years, but covid finally got to me too over the weekend, and oh man, that bug really is a right pain. It's a bit late, but congrats again on the Twycross video. I only half managed to make it to the premiere, as YT notifications predictably failed and then when I tried to catch up, my mom called... But I was going to have to watch it several times anyway. Glad to have caught the last 45 minutes of it though, Jerry's appearance was a really cool surprise. You and the rest of the team did fantastic work. As for the Con: Probably not - wrong continent anyway, but people tend to need to use a cattle prod to get me to leave the house for anything but work, groceries or exercise, so that's just me. Merch would be cool though. Both my Knife Fight City and 'Madcat's' shirts are still in as good as new condition; you're right, Eldonius definitely knows where to get his stuff. Maybe not 4140 cups, but what about stamped like a short AK top cover, with matching folding safety as a handle, instead?

Erdanya

BPL challenge coin - heads is checkers in profile and tails is the van zandt militia logo.

Kinoons

Another thing; WRITE THE CHARITY OFF on your Taxes, pay your team more if you won't pay yourself man.

cgdeth

Competence is its own punishment. OR performance punished. Sadly, I've learned to self sabotage from time to time, otherwise the sabotage will come due to fatigue or when the expectations finally surpass the possible.

Maehock

BRUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Please save your damn voice you mupett I love you but take a break.

cgdeth

Ouch, wishing you all the best. Hope they fix you up well and things take a turn for the better.

Erdanya

Pour some coffee down your neck to read this; save your voice. Or hell, honeyed tea if that helps/is your thing. (Side note, I tried honey in coffee at one point. Fucking weird taste profile, but not averse to redoing that) Belatedly echoing the Yus Merch. I actually have a no shit challenge coin from a *warcraft RP guild* of all things; we were military themed, and one one of the guild officers commissioned a number for us when it went into an 'inactive' state a while ago. Would probably stuff someone down a gator's gullet (I live in FL, this is not a tall order) for a VZFSM/VZFSPS coin. Down a boa's for both (Again, FL. We have an anaconda problem because people are fucking idiots when it comes to exotic pets). I've also been enjoying UA:D, the blame for which I lay squarely at your feet, and at the keel of EXPORTO. I had a bit of fun cooking up the lightest battleship I could (still in the 80k ton range) with 20" guns. They were chopped down as far as I could, and there were a number of compromises to get the game to allow it, but it was amusingly effective in custom-battle, at least. Turns out that geographically flexible bunkers like the UMR, ANH and that monstrosity I built do have their place. And that place, as we all know, is telling people to get the fuck off their lawn.

Eztli Angelos

New Tex deep lore dropped: He has permanent dark vision.

Sgt Potshot

sasve voice. If you are still searching for a poem, as we near november, try In Flander's Fields. Very popular here in Canada around Remembrance day, but seems like it is unheard of in USA

Collin Barker

Luminaire if you wanna read the story from the actual canon source it’s in the novel “Battletech: Lethal Heritage” which is the novel that depicts the events of Twycross.

MrToBeNamedLater

It might be easier logistically, too, or just a cookout day in a park, & then a casual meet up at a restaurant or bar.

Sgt Potshot

"If you do someone else's job for them once, its a favor. Do it twice, its now your job too."

Sgt CRAB

Hi Tex. Read as you find best for you're voice. Could you recommend an American poet to start reading? thank you, for keeping the spirit of the old internet alive. Together with those around you.

Nearly Visible

it sounds like a great idea, to hold a battletech meetup for BPL members in Europe. I will participate if it becomes reality

Nearly Visible

[save voice as necessary] I would be in favor of BPL merch as well as a potential Beeple-Con. As far as poetry goes, I would like you to do the Lady of Shalott it was a favorite of my sisters. Although not necessarily the whole thing.

Kasperl Stormcrow

Hey Tex, please consider your voice. I'm with the team who set up Crisis in Belgium. Brexit knocked us down from being the largest wargaming show on the continent so we are now back in a reduced form. But we could have a BPL/Battletech meetup area and game opportunities Nov 1st 2025 for all the BPL members in Europe or anyone who happens to be there are the time. I also wish you plenty of rest and plenty of good days to come.

Nonkel Bob

I had a similar thought- lots of campgrounds have cabins, RVs, and tent space, and cost a lot less than convention centers.

Ginger_Bitters

A few things I’ve learned working for the man in a group setting 1) being dependable only gets you more work 2) two people will be hired for the same job and do differing levels of work for the same pay. Keeping track of how much work you do vs your co-workers will drive you crazy. As to the twycross video, it was awesome. The graphics by hired steel were the high point for me and were god dammed majestic.

Kinoons

I loved Twycross and found it very timely. Shared it with several friends when they had questions about the new Mechwarrior 5 game. Keep up the amazing work, but please take time for yourself as well. This world needs more people like you in it.

7Blessd

In regards to the paint scheme: my merc company’s colors are primer gray and primer black, because paint costs money and we’re in a budget. Also, you’re just going to get it shot off in the next fight anyways.

Slappy McSpankBottom

Hey Tex hope your doing well. I had a question about your Twycross video. When Kai Liao arrived at the medical base he convinced the doctor to allow critically wounded patients to be evacuated by offering for her to join him on what can only be described as a suicide mission. Why? Am I missing some context? How does that convince her to move patients who are going to die without first being stabilized and why wouldn't she stay behind to oversee the evacuation. Did she not believe him that the clanners were coming and needed to see for herself or something?

Luminaire

Save voice! As a guy living ok, but without margins once bills are paid, I'd still love me some kind of BPL/Aux merch. The most useful kind of merch would probably be a foldable camping mug, either with a dishwasher proof print or a stylised insignia as part of the press mould. Another alternative would be two decks of playing cards, one with cartoon character avatars (if needed two on each dressed card) of BPL mayors and one with Aux mayors as the dressed cards, with the respective challenge coin front and the VSFSM badge as the back facing of the respective decks, and finally, cartoon versions of Tex and R.P.Checkers as the Jokers (Thinking split portrait along the up/down diagonal common in playing cards)

Sons of Lorgar

BLP and AUX Con. Rent out a whole campsite with a gun range. A weekend spent grilling and shooting. Tex telling stories around the campfire.

dogsoneup

Tex: "If I sound tired....it's because I'm in the No Sleep Legion" Definitely know how much it sucks to be competent. Tex admits he NEEDS to rest? My God. It's not the wrong reason if it ensures your financial survival. Moonshine Diplomacy that swifdraw mentioned sounds like a novel about Van Zandt another poem: Because I could not stop for death by Emily Dickinson

Jay McIntyre

I would love merch. And a con? Yes please! I have a suggestion for Magestratum Mundanus merch. It's just the characters faces in the style of classic rock band shirts. You could do Guns N Roses, Queen, and the Vanhalen concert shirt from 95. I would LOVE the Eldonius MM group photo on a tee, but I get that you'd get sued.

Joshua Zagelbaum

Save voice. Con would be cool. For poem The Charge of the Light Brigade and the Cremation of Sam Mcgee. Thank you for all you do with Battletech. Please take care of yourself. We need you. I know you are not irreplaceable but it would be nice for you to stick around a while longer. Hail Cargonia! And Screw the Clanners!

Eric The Viking

Save Voice Re 4140 Coffee Cups: I'll take two. Having just returned from a two week trip I shall remember as "That time I found out my childhood was even worse than I knew." your words about how hard times shape us could not ring more true. Spent a lot of time thanking my sisters for stepping up where our father chose not to and how much that must have cost them of their childhoods. Follow-up on BPLcon: Ya know, if you do any presentations wearing a Luchador mask and otherwise remain incognito it could work. There would certainly need to be lots of reminders for people that it's BPLcon, not Texcon and that if you think you see Tex, just give him a nod. My wife would be thrilled to make a Luchador mask for you.

They Call Me Soup Can

Save your voice. Doing the work of 2-3 people and getting paid for one is always fun. Hope your week gets better Mr Tex thank you and your team for all the things.

Jolope100

(You do not have to read this out loud.). My long week ends badly as I have a heart catheterization on Friday. My left side of my heart has some blockage. I cherish all the work that Tex and the BPL do for us all. Hope Tex has a better week than mine.

Mike Carpenter

Recently as of last Thursday I had the last of my teeth pulled and a denture plate put in. The drugs have been splendid and was listening to the fourth disceworld books, have read any of them? What is your favorite fantasy series ? Mine is Wheel of Time.

WinglessRayven

Sounds like the ‘merc’ ( just using your words ) is busy. Although you won’t, rest assured little bit knowing your fans respect your teams work and that you are hella committed to being a quality producer of a quality product. Your ‘real’ brings ‘real’ fans. We get it

Charles A. Inserra

You are not wrong that it's already a long week.

Mark Skarr

Good evening Mr. Tex. I'd completely unironically love a 4140 steel coffee cup just for the shit post it would represent. Stay safe out there and have a good week.

Santo

The reward for competency is increased work, increased pay optional. (From my unwritten memoirs about the military)
