Please start a gofundme for your plumbing, I will contribute. You mean more to this community than you know.

At least it's only looking at about 30k for the entire piping system. I need to get a new sewer mainline installed which, alone, is looking like 20k. On an aside, BPL Podcast Traveler next episode please? :)

Vendrette, The Postalmech

I hope in the coming year the road rises to meet your feet rather than your face. Take care and you be blessed with a good honest plumper.

As far as home inspectors, they basically aren't liable for anything and you can only try to go after them for what you paid them (in my state). Reference: My house that had massive termite damage and ended up being a ship-in-a-bottle fustercluck (let's gut it and replace half the framing...) and a $120k+ experience with me doing all the demo, framing, electrical, and exterior work. Also, banks aren't liable for prior termite damage, they aren't expected to know what they own (foreclosure)... Houses: The most expensive thing people have no problem patching together with janky fixes...

Greetings Tex! Please save your voice. Happy you are feeling better and your point on time slipping away and leading to regrets is sadly too true. Being in my 50’s they add up. I wanted to just ask some fun questions for the new year I hope you don’t mind being asked. You talked about games you can always just go back to when you need to relieve stress or just for fun. What would your top two go to games be? In either Pathfinder or D and D what is your favorite go to class? My father before he passed got me to appreciate good scotch which for me is Glenfiddich. My question is have you found once you try older versions, I started with 12 year old, then 15 and 18 and my last bottle 30 year old, do you find it harder to go back to the younger ones as the older have such more complex taste pallets? Finally being a historical ship lover, what would be your favorite ship or class of ships ex Iowa class from both WW1 and WW2? Thank you again to you and all your team of such a successful Christmas dump and charity drive! Hope you catch a break on the plumbing issue and that you meet all your goals this year with little to no regrets!

Greetings, Save voice if desired. If not already decided... My sugestion for the Van Zandt PPC cocktail 2 parts Goldschläger (Cinnamon flavoured schnapps notable for containing gold leaf flakes ABV 40%) 2 parts AfterShock Blue ("Cool" Citrus and Mint blue coloured liqueur sold with the ominous tagline "Awaken your senses" ABV 30%) Add moonshine or other clear strong alcohol like vodka "as desired", taking care not to excessively dilute the blue colour End result a blue drink, with shiny metallic flecks, intended to resemble a PPC blast. Drink is intended to be stirred vigorously immediately prior to consumption to agitate the metal flakes, and then "downed" rapidly via the longest available large diameter clear straw to give the appearance of being hit with a PPC blast to the face. This is not meant to be a "pleasant" drink, because getting hit in the face with a PPC is not meant to be pleasant, equally it is not meant to be a drink you would choose to inflict upon yourself but rather as with any received PPC blast something someone else has inflicted upon you. Unconfirmed lore to go with the drink, amongst some mech companies it is a tradition that anyone surviving a PPC blast directly to the mech cockpit, is expected to drink this cocktail in "celebration" once being checked out of hospital. It has been recorded as being consumed in this capacity 2 and a half times. It is no longer served in pints after the "half" occasion as this resulted in a fatality. Sidenote: My personal opinion is Blue Aftershock is nasty utterly disgusting tasting stuff, the taste is more likely to kill you than the alcohol content :p

Hearing that the Highlander is next after the Black Knight reminded me about the story of Great Gaffas's ghost and wondered what your favorite ghost mech story is. (Mine is the Black Marader for the potential lovecraftian horror that thing is.) bonus question: from what you have seen of the ilclan era, do you think it's an improvement from the Jihad and Dark Age?

Save voice if you wish. Quick recommendation for the correction of the plumbing situation - at least the funding of such. Look into a personal loan with a bank that you already have a relationship with, since oftentimes whether you get a cash out refinance or a Home equity line of credit you will end up having your mortgage interest rate go up, especially under current market conditions. Personal loans with banks tend to have lower interest rates. Hoping everything is going reasonably well otherwise with you and the rest of the legion.

Zetam

I remember my spain playthrough of UAD, it requires some very good ship design and you really have to prioritize the right places at first. My particular game was dominated by a 15+ year war against the french. Its a very different game compared to like the US or Japan. Edit: The song does go hard. Coolio.

Voice save Thanks for the response Tex, that's a reasonable take. My favorite nuke recovery story is when a team with a minisub recovered one and blew ballast only for the sub to just hang there. Eventually they noticed the sub was just barely raising and they ultimately got the nuke out. The only thing I'd point out is that it would be a Soviet nuke rather than American. As for American nukes going bad, I knew a guy in that space, not sure if I can share stories about it save that due to security rules it may not be physically possible to refurbish the stockpile.

Captain1nsaneo

thanks for the update, it's cool to know some BT shenanigans are coming with Scrombles and crew, and I really like the Admiral Dreadnaughts lets plays. Have enjoyed every one that you put out...HAPSBURG forever! As for the plumbing issue, as others have said do a GoFundMe so we can support you and mike. Let's be honest here Tex...You are cool and all but we're trying to help Mike and Goat. They're good folk, so don't force them to use shitty plumbing to shit. Or sell some merch. I'd love some stickers for my dnd screen for Van Zandt. Think of your friends, Tex. Friends don't let friends shit in shitty plumbing. Together as a community, we punched Cancer in the dickhole. Let us punch your plumbing clear! SCROMBLES SMASH bad PLUMBING!!! Aux4life. Hail Cargonia. High fives to the team and HAWKMEN!!!! DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!

Good evening Mr. Tex. For the pipes, I suggest a Go Fund Me. As you've said before, this community has raised a mountain of money for charity. And helped people when their house was damaged severely. But, if I may be so bold as to lecture you. I'd like to remind you that you are a part of this community. And are no less deserving of its aid. If you are absolutely against that. Then please consider a run of merch. As I've said before, a shirt that says 'GM Autocannons, because fuck THAT guy in particular' would probably sell better than waffles. We want the content you put out, and I do feel this community would be displeased if you can't work your magic because you're too busy with your house falling apart. If not that, than at least claim the Christmas dump charity in your taxes. I don't think anyone that matters will look down on you for doing so, your house rotting from the inside because of bad pipes is no joke. Please, don't fall on your sword for this. Let me throw five bucks your way. I'd probably do something stupid with those five dollars anyways. As to the question, I recall you mentioning a line when you spoke of scripting for the Black Knight, about a knight who all he had left was the determination to keep moving. Could I ask you for the whole quote and where to find it? I have the long term memory of a goldfish and weak google-fu. Thank you for your time, have a good week and stay safe.

Santo

Hey Tex, have you considered a give send go or go fund me to help with the plumbing issues. I would certainly donate or promote it. You have done so much for charity let people help you for a change. Another idea would be pay what your want merch. If you wana give away free stuff like the Magistratum Mundanius book allow people to decide if they want to get it for free or donate some money to you for it.

Luminaire

It's fairly audible on the podcast at 100% volume, though even then the train horn tends to be quite muted. My suspicion is that the uploads here are tweaked (by patreon, most likely) to reduce filesize by using a lower sound quality, which in turn cuts off some of the high/low end and tends to make Mr. Train completely inaudible. Mind you I'm not a professional audio engineer by any stretch, that's just my guesses.

Killian

Sounds like an interesting year ahead of us already! Such plans. Having fully caught up on the podcast (I didn't want to wind up commenting on stuff that happened three years ago like it was yesterday) now I can say the Legion sounds like one hell of a place, and the reasons for its foundation and exclusivity are ones I understand through personal experience. That said, there was one question that occurred to me in the course of listening to the podcast. It might be better as a podquestion, but anchor.fm got assimilated so I'm not sure where else to drop it in the meantime. Feel free to save or recycle it for a proper episode, Q: What's a setting or franchise you'd like to see get a tabletop/RPG adaptation? Be it an all-new system, a 'rules hack'/total conversion, or whatever. The talk of Mr. Welch's Mystara revival and various homebrewings got me thinking, 'cause I do love me a bit of homebrew. I could ramble a bit about my adventures in that field, but this little comment box really isn't the place. I've already abused the poor thing with all these words as it is. In any case, here's to making the most of 2025, despite what may loom on the horizon.

Killian

REST VOICE!!! Damn you Tex. I don't have enough time as it is but now I'm forced to invest my time in Xenonauts, after bingeing on many, many, many hours of your playthrough videos. You really sounded like you had a massive vendetta against the alimows. Hope your rage has settled.

Adrian

Happy New Year Tex. Hail Cargonia!

stephen rickman

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Geoffrey Heathcote

That is reassuring. Though I don't think I have *ever* heard Mr. Train. But then again for a long time I was listening to the podcast on very low volume and that's probably it.

Berthold

The horn is very quiet, but is there. It's a lower noise.

Zetam

Fret not, it's not just you. There have been some episodes where Mr. Train decides to sound off close enough that it's very easy to pick up but most of the time it isn't loud enough for me to pick up at least, and most of my high frequency threshold is still intact.

Brooks

{Feel free to save your voice Tex} Firstly, SIR, that music, similar to most of the music ya'll put out, goes harder than it has any business going. Secondly I already know the suggestion will most likely be declined, but it must be said. You and the legion have raised so much money to help others, you should allow the community to help you. Somewhat the pot calling the kettle black as I have allowed my pride to stop me from seeking help in the past, but call it I shall, because if assistance with funding the piping rework would help, allow those of us that wish help to have the chance to.

Brooks

Howdy Tex! [Save your voice!] Happy New Year AND HELL YEAH CRIME AGAINST CANCER [in Payday 2]! Hell Yeah Spain and Black Knight, I am EXCITED For the Traveler Interview/Future Pod Episodes. Also, Yes the Battlemaster is an Over-Heavy Heavy Mech. I have a favorite from the Songbook, 15 Mechs, I gotta hunt down the lads who worked on that and give them some thanks. I have MANY Ideas on projects to work on this year, and another pair of semesters to work through, I Aced Finals last semester, next one starts the 22nd, so I'm getting locked and loaded for that.

Grimos

Not a question for Tex but to you other folks listening: am I the only one who can never hear anything when he says to listen for the train? I had generally assumed it was just very low volume but I had things fairly loud today and did not catch a hint. (I ask this with a slight bit of worry/paranoia because I have recalled that later in his life my great uncle lost all hearing in specific higher frequency ranges and I am now around the age that happened to him).

Berthold

Hey Tex ! Happy 2025 to everyone at the BPL. (voice reminder) The Traveller documentary sounds like it will be pretty amazing. Looking forward to seeing all your projects for this year. Also a suggestion, would you do a series on the BT weapons both small arms and Mech sized weapons and compare them to current equivalents.

Nonkel Bob

Tex, please save voice. 🙏 I loved the Christmas Dump, the Battletech songs especially. Is there any chance we might see the songs released individually? My grateful thanks to you and everyone who worked on the songs etc. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 God bless you and the team. Seyla 🫂 🤗

Nerd_Power

Tex, good to hear your voice. Happy New Year

Nerd_Power

*listens to the music* Why do I suddenly see Meme-Tex wearing a Conquistador helmet and breastplate with Adidas trackpants while waving Toledo Steel from the bow of a tumblehome?

Molly McAllister

We worry because we care, Tex NOW will you let us give you more money? Of course you won't. Once again, if you are a voice in the choir, then that voice is Avi Kaplan's. yes, we know you're tired my man

Jay McIntyre

Happy New Year and will you continue the van zandt battletech playthrough? just wondering cool either way

russell marsh

Hey Tex, good to hear your voice. Have never considered poetry a "thing", but have to say I've enjoyed it so far. Thank you!

Tempest Crow

The test for my town's tornado alarm began the moment I started listening, that's a memorable enough start for the year I guess. Thanks for the patches Tex!

The Clag
