The madness Continues, and other things
Added 2023-07-11 19:44:03 +0000 UTCA little fun commercial is in the works. It is funny. It has a singalong. You will singalong.
I don't care if people hate singalongs. You will do the singalong and be merry.
More details soon enough. :)
Hunchback - Doing.

Solid commercial, easily 5 out of 7. Sing along was a bit awkward as it was very similar to a camp song I knew as a kid and the lyric timing were close, but different around the “I’m tired and want to go to bed” bit. Still cool seeing OC high effort shit posting, so well done. In other news, the road trip has taken us near Cincinnati and we’re contemplating getting some Skyline Chili. Is this a mistake?

2023-07-18 15:54:44 +0000 UTCI'm super excited. The Hunchback was my goto mech in MWO, my first real mech as I was clambering back into the fandom on the release of MWO's Beta and as life has kept punching at me, has become the mech that I feel most attached to. Its small, its loud, its stocky. Its an easy target but it will punch back even as it falls. I identify with the little shit so much. I am incredibly excited.
2023-07-17 17:03:28 +0000 UTCHeya Tex. Being that ASD is just that, a spectrum, and not knowing the extent to which yours manifests in a physical way, I was curious if you stim. Having been a caretaker to an autistic kid, I know all too well the difference between Capital-A Autism and Hollywood Autism. If you do stim, have you noticed an increase or decrease in stimming when you're focusing on things like sight-picture or focusing on your trigger pull. That being said, being a lifelong naked bacon cooker... the trick is to use the back burner. Things splatter on ...other things with somewhat less frequency. Anyway, be well, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
2023-07-17 04:26:05 +0000 UTChmm... perhaps, though i would imagine that that the Hunchback already has some pretty serious recoil compensation to be mounting an AC20 on a medium platform. Those things usually go on assault mechs or very heavy tanks. Plus, you could probably brace the mech, for example by kneeling down. I imagine it functioning similar to firing a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher for example.

2023-07-14 22:18:44 +0000 UTCOffhand, I think your biggest problem would be the stability (or lack thereof) of the bipedal platform.

2023-07-14 20:38:05 +0000 UTCG’Day Tex I feel I need to explain my use of LEGO (lego) in all caps. I have been in the LEGO community for decades, and as such I have dealt with the company. LEGO actually ask that to correctly refer to the company and the bricks, it is LEGO in all caps. So much so that all my devices autocorrect that now. Sorry for that. I should add that I too have had to deal with ‘Agile project management’ and it has a very specific use-case, which is some instances of software development, that no-one seems to understand and applies it to everything because “it’s new and cool” (well, it is actually 22 years old, so…) And let’s not forget the ‘joy’ of “Planning Poker”, which is a real thing. Think “Bioshock Infinite” bidding for a contract. Anyway, I hope you are having a perfectly acceptable day.

2023-07-14 06:23:49 +0000 UTCHey Tex, hearing your speech on you and leadership. Most leaders that don't want leadership and has it thrust upon, make the best leaders. They tend to understand more about caring about those "under" them. You be you, we'll be us! See you in the Funny Pages!

2023-07-13 19:35:48 +0000 UTCI love the BPL battletech music, so a singalong is gonna be great fun :D Speaking of the hunchback, and therefor big guns: Do you think the hunchback would work as an artillery platform? While i enjoy MLRS for the lightshow they put on at night, i'm thinking throw on a big howitzer, enough armor to survive counter-battery, and it'd be punchy enough to defend itself up close against scouts who decide to come looking.

2023-07-13 17:43:59 +0000 UTCThe Stallone quote about 'nothing hitting you harder than life will' comes to mind. So keep hanging in there. Looking back over that 4.0 line, I'm not gonna lie to you and tell you it gets easier. You wouldn't believe that anyway. But if nothing else, there are people out here who want to see you hack it. So keep eating that whale, one bite at a time.

2023-07-13 05:46:56 +0000 UTCI remember one of the intermission BPL Facts (ZeFrank voice optional, but encouraged) mentioning you weren't overly fond of the current crop of Star Trek stuff. Discovery and Picard were specifically mentioned, but Lower Decks wasn't, neither Strange New Worlds or Prodigy (though, in fairness, SNW hadn't even been announced, I don't think, and Prodigy wasn't out yet). Has your opinion changed on any of those? Or was the bad taste of early Discovery enough to drive you from the current crop of Trek shows? Or, a secret, third thing (read: you haven't got the time and/or resources to sit and watch them just now)

2023-07-13 05:38:14 +0000 UTCTex. Tex you just said the words, "He lost his leg, and he needs some support" without so much as a smirk. I feel you on the management thing, but unfortunately the pay's too much better to turn down. Every time I start a new job at the floor I'm satisfied and competent, then fuckers keep promoting me. re: BT horror, I'm a pretty big fan of the Black Marauder. It's a later era than I usually play, but it's some spoooky stuff.

2023-07-13 04:12:09 +0000 UTCSide note, but people who are obsessed with the whole, "Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Sigma" stuff tend to have other things wrong with them... Not saying there might not be some valid points there, but if someone is obsessed with it, that's a bad sign. Especially in management

2023-07-12 15:29:48 +0000 UTCNot wanting to be a leader probably makes you a good leader. It's a lot of power, so having a sober outlook on the subject and being cautious with it seems pretty darned responsible to me. Self-defense training sounds very, ah, holistic. It makes sense. Violence abhors planning, so best to be ready to adapt on the fly. And I will not deep-fry naked, don't worry. Since you noted you wanted to hear it, I have been regularly receiving your community posts, it's how I found out about the good causes you've pointed us all at. I also get youtube recommendations I actually like, sometimes from small channels even. I think my youtube account might be broken. Hope they never fix it. You're really right about there being some amazing gems on there the site just doesn't want to push. Not familiar with the Hunchback, looking forward to meeting this little guy everyone seems to love so dearly. :) And looking forward to more stupid.

2023-07-12 03:56:58 +0000 UTCTex Talks Music: Synthwave Bolero Definitely not as a spirit of Dr Christmas, either I try to listen to those anti tinnitus videos on Youtube, don't really work much Tex gun loading ASMR Tex would only shoot the tv if it was a Clanner or Cappellan TV Oh, that reload guy isn't meant to be realistic, Tex. You don't reload a toaster with fresh bread and cock it like a gun and be concerned with realism. It's understated gamer comedy. Nothing more. (In case it isn't clear by now a lot of my comments reflect my particular flavor of autism; that is a lot of my comments are stream of consciousness responses to what you said last time, a la my commentary on Magistratum Mundanus)

2023-07-12 02:51:59 +0000 UTCHey Tex, at the risk of jinxing it, I hope you're doing well - or at least a little better each week. Sorry I'm late, but still: thanks for the book recommendations the week before this. For some reason I completely forgot about Arthur C. Clarke , despite him being on the Discovery channel, back when I was a kid, and the DC was still interesting, making him quite influential in my interests in technology and science fiction. Made sure to add him to the list, though! Recovery from illness sometimes still feels way too much like guesswork from doctors than I'd like, coupled with a worrying dose of 'let's do pills about it and see what happens!'... Just gotta keep on moving forward, I guess. No rest for the wicked. Again, hope you guys are doing well. Take care.

2023-07-11 22:57:08 +0000 UTCA singalong? Are you serious???? A sing...a...long.... Eh, sounds like fun! I'm in. Here, have my money! I am soooo excited the LL is making stuff for the video! They do the good stuff. Like Mike and his sound/editing awesomeness. High five to Mike and other mike (Hutz Fan-fabulous-dango). Glad you are taking the time to do it right. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. HAWKMEN!!!!! DIIIIIIIVE!!!

2023-07-11 22:50:19 +0000 UTCAll jobs are temporary. You will either quit, get fired, get laid off, end up being the guy who turns out the lights when the place gets bought out, retire or die. I’m not saying don’t be a professional. Take pride in your work but letting your profession be your sole source of self worth is an express train to Crazy Town.

2023-07-11 21:20:51 +0000 UTCTex just being Tex is always a high point of my week. Can’t wait to see the commercial and eventually the Hunchback video. And I may just be built different but I’ve cooked bacon shirtless so many times that I almost don’t feel it anymore, whether or not that’s good for me is up for question. Also I know the answer is most certainly “no” but I’ve always wanted to get into voice acting, if you ever want an amateur with a little range to speak into a microphone my DMs are always open.
