Hi Tex, Wanted to know if you had anyone who did good Cyberpunk lore videos, similar to your Battletech videos. I’m doing some research, but figured I’d ask you as well. Also, did you see Oppenheimer yet? You mentioned the book was good, but I was unimpressed with the movie. I feel like I’m the only one.
2023-07-25 02:55:19 +0000 UTC"Come on you Apes, you wanna live forever!" So random thought experiment. You are in charge of planning the next muppet movie. Which classic work are you adapting, who is you "human" character. And what muppets are playing which role?

2023-07-24 21:21:54 +0000 UTCHey Tex, thanks again for the hard work you and your team are doing and I can't wait to see what you churn out next. God bless brother😁 Question: So I was wondering how racially segregated do you think humanity will stay if we succeed in colonization of other worlds. I do think that the majority of humanity will probably intermingle to one extent or another but when looking at some cultures which are very isolationist even today I can't help but wonder if we'll still see people trying to keep the bloodlines "pure" in the future. Personally as a mixed race man I think the whole thing is stupid but them's the breaks I guess.

2023-07-24 15:54:28 +0000 UTCHey Tex, I've started listening to your podcasts and I've been hearing you extol the virtues of Warhammer Fantasy RP 2nd edition. My question to you is, which assets from other editions are worth converting and how much work would that be? Third edition in particular looks like hot garbage.

2023-07-21 19:48:58 +0000 UTCWanted to ask this separately from my post above, serious gunsmith question. I got an abundance of 30-06 ammunition, mixed lot from Greek M2 ball to modern Remington hunting ammo. I do own a Garand M1, but honestly I don’t care to shoot it that much. Great historical piece just not cup of tea for a fun shooter. Love the round, not so much the tool especially because it’s picky with modern ammo at higher pressure. Don’t want to inadvertently bend an operating rod. Can you think of or recommend any AR10 pattern rifles that are chambered in the ol’ -06? Know of the Bear Creek Huntmaster and the Noreen BN36 but like you I have champagne tastes and a PBR budget so the HCAR is out.

2023-07-20 17:17:57 +0000 UTCIf we're still debating when is Professor Tex, if the earlier episodes are still completely 'canon' he's probably in Republic/Dark Age era because he mentions the Urbie being produced by Hellespont up to 3081. He also mentions the Bounty Hunter's "Jihad-era" Mad Cat build in the respective episode.

2023-07-20 17:01:11 +0000 UTCDon't really say much because I just don't have much to say. I don't know much anything about the creation process nor have any ideas what to say good or bad on it. I do want to say I do like that you seem like the guy to be a boss that would think "if people under me feel a need for a union, I am failing as a boss". I don't mean this to be political about union or no union either, I just think that's a good attitude for someone who writes paychecks.
2023-07-20 15:06:00 +0000 UTCToday while adding some items to my Amazon shopping list I came across some customer questions that, due I presume to some crossed wires in Amazons web database, indicate that if you paint a ‘Mech with Citadel Nuln Oil it comes to life. Given the chance would you “Indian in the Cupboard” a lance of ‘Mechs or is the risk of shot in the ass with tiny lasers and PPC’s to great?

2023-07-19 16:37:50 +0000 UTC*insert gif of the old man from Master and commander where his knuckles say, "HOLD FAST"*. I'll hold fast with u bud, for as long as possible. I'll be right behind u pulling just like the rest of us. The singalong was great, it was a treat to wake up to a new bpl video. It always is. I'm always here for moar shitposting. I wear my black pants in solidarity with every night I go to work at Walmart. And one more thing, you've definitely proved to me that ur worth my money. And every time I watch any of ur videos, I tell myself that this is a worthwhile investment of my time and money.

2023-07-19 05:41:44 +0000 UTCI may not post regularly, but I am a regular listener to the podcast (this and Spotify) and the Youtubes through the BPL and Courtesy Flush when I get my notifications. I believe that the fuel (money or otherwise) received from supporters is well spent on the quality output I have seen from you and others in the BPL. Yeah, burgers are great - but so is the emotion derived from viewing the BPL's content - including some of those deep thoughts with the Christmas Bullet - I'm still in awe of that video. I'd like to share a little bit from a shy Canadian - I've had the opportunity to enjoy a bigger community thanks to your efforts. I will refer to Battletech as it was a very bright piece of my childhood and is now one of the IPs that I enjoy most. I have been inspired by the depth of your work and wanted to dig in more to this, including the tabletop field. Within the last year and a half, my brother and I have reviewed, learned and went so far as to start teaching others how to play both Classic and Alpha Strike at our local hobby shop. It was successful enough that I've joined a league and will be enjoying my first season with them over many Sundays for the next 6 months. I hope to grind some people into the dirt with well-placed AC20 shots from a Hunchback or two. Some of the people I will be playing with and have met are Catalyst Game Agents - the same people who happen to run Battletech and other IPs officially from Catalyst in a variety of locations. They're pretty cool people, and your passion of this universe helped me start these connections, even if only indirectly. For this - I thank you. Back to more grounded matters - work sucks, but health is super important. Last year I started coordinating maintenance efforts for hospitals, care facilities and for privately owned mobility equipment owners. Maintaining your health is huge when you know that people rely on you to be at a desk, moving parts, making calls, and getting services to people on time. I've been sick a couple times and every time I go back to the desk it feels like a mountain grinds me down 'cause sometimes people don't pick-up the slack when I'm not at work. Deep down I know it's still worth it cause I'm helping people with their livelihood one call at a time. I hope you get on the mend soon Tex. I'm looking forward to more of your streams, videos and wonderful shitposts!

2023-07-19 04:58:06 +0000 UTCAh Tex, Tex, Tex, you are a great dude, I love your perspective on life, I like your no quit attitude and nobody...and I mean NOBODY can make me do any damn thing I don't want to after I spent 8 years earning TWO blackbelts (Kempo karate and Tae kwon do) and then making some dumb ass mistakes I'll be paying for, for the rest of my life, I've been ground down into the dust, spit on, crapped on and laughed at. I work a shit job for shit money. But I find the BPL are my kind of crazy. So instead of giving Hollywood (as I used to in the past) my money for entertainment I will GLADLY...GLADLY give you my money for the HIGH quality entertainment you and your team create. Holy crap you guys are talented assholes and I lovvvve it. Magistratum Mundanus...I'm listening to it all again and laughing just as hard. I look forward to Traveller. Hell I listened to you playing a tiefling monk punching Owlbears in the beak and thought it was worth it. So. With all that shit said. Thank you. Thank you for entertaining me these last few years and if you keep plugging away, I'll keep throwing my movie theater money at you every month. Hawkmen......DIIIIIIIIIVVVVVE!!!!

2023-07-19 03:38:16 +0000 UTC" If that is luck, then it is luck every time a batter hits a ball." -- Robert Heinlein. You made yourself a somebody, Tex. Even if you don't want to admit it. Ah yes, Weaponized Eggbeater I am not half the historian you are, but I am enough of one to recognize that it is cyclical, and it rhymes. We are in a low point in the cycle, and the pause between lyrics. We will get to a better place, but this is one of the bad ones, and we all know why. I'll leave it at that. Got some clues about Van Zandt in the entertaining video; the fact that the emerald chicken mech was the one they downed being the most obvious. But I loved the opening narration about Van Zandt itself the most. I can do a stereotypical syrupy southern accent, and an Irish brogue. Let's see how many jobs...library, fast food, fast food again, electronics store, dishwasher/busboy, office, convenience store, video arcade, pharmacy, dishwasher/busboy again, office again, dishwasher again, office again, convenience store again, office again, seasonal mall store, mall kiosk, dishwasher again, mall kiosk again, doughnut shop, clothing wholesale, work from home office, work from home office again, work from home office again, office again, and finally hybrid work from home office currently. And I might have forgotten a few and maybe got a couple in the wrong order. I usually receive your community posts and notifications. Not always, but mostly. Discovery had one thing going for it, the clever Mirror Universe arc. And while the Mirror Universe is a fun thing to play with, if you *need* it to be good, you don't have anything. Agreed that the 80s and 90s didn't handle Autism well, but the modern "Better living through chemistry" approach is, in the long term, even worse. But yes, I stim on Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 all the damn time. And this, of course. Skyline Chili is....eh. It's no more or less a colon explosion for me than many other things, But as food it's eh.

2023-07-19 02:04:52 +0000 UTCG’Day Tex (I love the twang you put on this, so 👍 from an Aussie) I have been a Trek fan for a while, I was at university in the 90’s when DS9 & Voyager were on TV (we got it later than the US so this was (95-2000) At the time I didn’t really think much of DS9, as I was all about Babylon 5. In later years I did go back through DS9 and realised as a whole, it was a far cleverer series than I had given it credit for. Still think B5 is better through but DS9 is probably the most underrated Trek show But, and I might be on the outer in this, I really enjoyed Voyager. I mean, you are not wrong about Kathryn “War Crimes” Janeway, but Kate Mulgrew was quite good at portraying her. Voyager is one of those shows I often go back and rewatch again. You are correct that Discovery is weird and doesn’t fit though A few Star Trek actors appear in Bruce Timm Batman/Superman/Justice League. That was always fun to spot, FYI Anyway, have yourself an acceptable day

2023-07-18 22:48:33 +0000 UTCHey, as one of those silent ones who got a response to a question once in an e-mail... Thanks for inspiring me via talks like this and podcast to actually be a better person when I am dealing with my fellow players and how I try to reach out to others. So, while you thank us, thank you.

2023-07-18 21:08:43 +0000 UTCHi Tex. Was listening to a random US Army War College video on YouTube, and just learned that Alexander Kerensky (1881-1970) lead the Russian Provisional Government during WWI. I now wonder if a certain fictional Battletech character was named after him.

2023-07-18 21:01:03 +0000 UTCRandom voice actor story time; I was on a TF2 official 2fort server when a guy started doing a pitch perfect Hank Hill voice over all chat. It was amazing; so amazing in fact that a random Valve employee who happened to be on the server gave him an unique developer quality weapon which are rarer than gold. I know it's hard to believe others when they tell you something intrinsic about you is good, but given how many of us like your voice, it's probably reasonable to take some joy in it and what you can do with it despite how it got there. David Attenborough probably doesn't sing much anymore either.

2023-07-18 20:31:54 +0000 UTCNow this update hit a spot. Specifically the part about defining your selfworth via your job. I lost my job a year ago and it really took me down, but you gotta keep fighting, i did find something new, i don't enjoy it but it pays the bills. I applied for something new recently and still hope it works out. I also try to improve my drawing skills since, like you said, crearting stuff feels good. Through all this is was always nice to be able to listen to your soothing voice and words of wisdom, it really helped me out and for that i will forever be grateful so keep up the good work and don't let life grind you down
