Hey Tex, once I want to thank you and your team for all the hard work you guys do. I have been play the Tex Talks Battletech playlist again and I’ve got to say I love the Racing Hearts opening in the Mackie video. It’s just so 80’s I love it. I have two questions that if you have time to answer I would love your opinion, if not that’s okay too. First if you had the chance would you go back and redo the Awesome video to be more in the style of the current TTB’s. Second I’ve been seeing some wild stuff from Baldurs Gate 3. I know you not a fan of Laurian Studios, but from my perspective it looks like they tried their best to capture the Tabletop experience. Thanks for your time and I apologize for the long post.

2023-08-08 14:05:05 +0000 UTCData point: The one showing of Oppenheimer in an Oregon Regal theater didn't have a hand holding explanation at the start of the film. But it may have been in the 40 minutes of commercials before the alleged start time and those commercials.

2023-08-08 13:47:52 +0000 UTCHeya Tex, Really enjoyed the podcast with your friend who is clearly The Official Spokesperson of The US DoD and West Point in particular, so if you don't mind, I have a letter set up with questions about his comments.. Seriously though, really cool stuff, and I really enjoy the levelheaded approach with these conversations. (Social) media is generally exhausting and your down to earth conversations with guys (and gals) who are just very much human, with great senses of humor (those stories about the MLP crossover and Todd Howard were amazing) are very much appreciated in these times of doom and gloom, and general misinformation, be that intentional or not. Lacking any very particular set of skills that may help you guys in making videos, I figure the best I can do is add my 2ct (give or take) and some moral support. >thumbsup.gif here< Take care, all of you magnificent (fellow) weirdos.

2023-08-05 03:14:19 +0000 UTCHowdy Tex, folks of the Patreon Legion here. Your note on musical tastes is right on the money. My best friend and I played a lot of Counter Strike growing up as teenagers. Know what song we had on while we played? Baby Got Back. Don’t ask me why, or how, but our stats were better with that song on. Question for you on the BattleTech front. Do you have any favorite factions’ paint schemes for your minis? I’ve been jumping around between a few Davion and Merc schemes and was thinking MWO Hero mechs might be a fun next project, but I’m curious what you like to do. Keep up the great work, that Hunchback video has got me pumped!

2023-08-05 01:05:02 +0000 UTCThat's funny. I like that. Out of curiosity, did she say what commercial (or which company or product) she thought she'd heard Tex in?

2023-08-04 02:26:51 +0000 UTCCommenting again because my mother, while not watching any of your documentaries, has heard your poetry and became convinced she heard you doing a commercial. I had to explain that no, you were very selective outside of your own works. Amusing though.

2023-08-04 01:47:30 +0000 UTCWhat you said at þe end reminded me of þe "problem of barter" which is often brought up as þe cause for switching to currency-based economies. Why would someone in a relatively small community, such as one found in most pre-currency economies, worry about getting immediate return on someþing þey'd given? Why would economists assume you wouldn't just *give a gift* or trade favors to your neighbor to help þem out? Why would you need to trade a goat for a loaf of bread instead of simply sharing þe bread and perhaps getting a different gift later? My answer is: economists are trained to be sociopaþs and don't understand Human emotion; þat's why þey constantly are wrong about þe economy þe second normal people get þe chance to interfere.

2023-08-03 15:57:04 +0000 UTCTex, Thank you for answering my question with so much thought and grace. The "Phil" err Comment? (for lack of better terms), was touching. My best friend's name is Phil, and it made me step back a bit. I hope we all can strive for/toward a better world. Here's to a better world to live in. On a lighter note, I have been thinking about a comedy story in the BT world. It's about a planet thought to be dead by nuke in (a) Succession War. Hiding in a Fallout style bunker and staying there until after and all the SLDF and other remnants of info has faded away. They end up rebuilding the planet and population, and all they really know is that this outside space group will be back and they will be ready. lots more to explain but not here. Do you think it could work as a comedy? I see the "Eff off" factor as they develop better tech by accident. Pistol6699! THX

2023-08-02 01:20:14 +0000 UTCTex? Take Breaks? Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh It was Animaniacs who made the sound joke, "THX: THE AUDIENCE IS NOW DEAF" As for out of sequence storytelling, Nolan did fine with that in his first Batman film, but if I wanted that kind of thing I'd watch Quentin Tarentino. Speaking of youtube, a let's player I know is having the experience of comments on his videos being randomly turned off. (Got the Red Faction stream playing with lower volume in the background, made a small donation.) Not trying to lay rose petals at your feet, just asking you to stop pouring ashes on your *own* head. @Czarvak I found the Awesome video by searching specifically for it. Oh hey, almost forgot, in the Van Zandt Flak and Carbide video, "A pervasive and unchecked (some word here) movement". What movement?

2023-08-01 23:00:22 +0000 UTCI've really been enjoying your podcast. Especially the bit you did about the Bradley. Is there any Battletech armor you might say has had a similar production history and prolific fielding (or misuse, even) as the Bradley? Second, the bit about the BMP's fuel door had to have been the strangest and most hysterical design quirk I've ever heard of. I guess there's no such thing as a "full pucker" moment once you've been in a combat situation, and the only thing between you and incoming fire is choc-full of combustibles. I guess they're not supposed to retreat, eh? Finally, I'd personally love to see the removal of all but ... one infantry seat in favor of a Phalanx CIWS on the rear in conjunction with your twin M134's, cow-catcher, and glame-thrower crazy-tank. Because let's just go full-manic. I'll be goddamned if my ridiculous fuck-off ANGRY MARINES guns-tank gets taken out by an RPG. They're going to have to commit depleted uranium if they don't want to see the BRRRT.
2023-08-01 22:52:21 +0000 UTCHey Tex, I'm about to GM for the first time. Twilight 2000 4th Edition is the system and i wanted to ask if you got some advice. I thought up a simple scenario where the players have to link up with their Battalion HQ after the nukes fell. The Battalion commander being a southern gentleman, so some tips on how to portray a person like that would be appreceated
