Specialist designs don't make a lot of sense in the shitshow TO&Es of Battletech, particularly with the ORBATs being triangular and not square. But something like a Longbow makes a lot more sense in a square company with an Atlas lance as the main assault element, two flanker lances of Nightstars, and a lance of Longbows backing that all up. In a triangular ORBAT, you have to give a mech up in each lance, which has the added problem that one mech is now without a battle buddy in the short to medium range engagement zones.

Do you like stories where a character dies in a tragic sacrifice as the possibility for them to complete the thing they have been striving for, or do you like something much less dark? Pluto isn’t a planet but Pluto and Charon are this cool little binary system with their barycenter, the point around which they orbit each other, in empty space between them. For my money these two planetoids dancing around each other at the edge of the Solar System and orbiting the Sun as if they were one big planet are a lot more interesting than a yet another rocky snowball. Sometimes things are a lot cooler if you look at them in context.

Not only was it more shenanigans from the crew, I got my revenge on a co-worker who subjected me to 4 working days of country music after I told him I didn’t like it. See, he was stuck in a vehicle with me for 2.5 hours driving to a job site and I had control of the radio. Hooked up the phone and watched him squirm in discomfort from the parade of faux pas. “That’d start a fight if they were my guest, I don’t care who or what they were. That ain’t right.” It was great! My only complaint was the newest passenger should have been named Will or William instead of Bob. That way you could Free Willy.
