Hi Tex, hope you are doing well. It's good to hear you're fighting back against Mr. Train - be it with insulating windows... or, if push comes to shove, that Stove Pipe... which looks impressive, btw, do you know if that thing ever got used at all? It seemed to look like it came straight out of an armory. Been enjoying the podcast interviews, once I clear some backlog in videos I'll have to go give Big Red's a shot. Recently our navy announced their future plans to replace the De Zeven Provinciën frigates, and to have the replacements built by Damen. This was shortly after you mentioned them before, which made me look up what they actually build, and was surprised to see how much they actually made for the international market. I don't think most people here know either, and for how much we praise our seafaring heritage it seems like we don't value our shipyards as much as we should. I was also surprised to see that the US navy bought an Italian frigate, of all things, with options to buy more.. Do you know if this was because the LCS were such expensive (g)rafts they decided to pass on US designs, or is there something else at play there? Would this be the first time in a long time they didn't go for US designs? Speaking of, while I'm sad to see the Italian navy didn't get to rule the world, I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do as Austria-Hungary, if you've recorded that.

2024-03-12 14:57:06 +0000 UTCI think I need some time management advice. I also think that once you get covid, it leaves its mark and makes you susceptible to different strains. Think I'm on round two. Rather than be a downer on that thought, let's look at it as a rough patch from which we can ultimately become stronger. But... I can't help but think of that Nietzsche quote, "That which does not kill you.." but with the added "leaves you horribly crippled." lol Darn, they're ain't no super powers in this world.
