2025-07-05 06:34:59 +0000 UTCTalking about military procurement, I'm always tickled by the start of Accuracy International and the L96A1. Do you fancy recapping that for the peanut gallery?

2025-07-04 09:05:03 +0000 UTCHey there TEX! I know that my message last week was more of a meme post, but I wanted to do something actually constructive this week As in addition to any possible already mentioned AUX and AUX discord, a whole bunch of us actively play MWO So, as per to this post, I was dropping in that game while I was watching 'Tex Plays BTA 3062' Scrombles Ep 3 You have mentioned in the past that you love the 'Street sweeper Urbanmech' (which I believe is the UM-K9) And in the episode you said that the Vindicator is a 'fine machine' silly thing for us in The AUX, we have a thread (if new comers would like to know) that where we put together these mech builds and another member modifies it and lo and behold, we get some really fantastic and optimized builds https://mwo.nav-alpha.com/mechlab?b=3900631d_UM-K9 https://mwo.nav-alpha.com/mechlab?b=fb24488c_VND-1AA (I've been told by people whom spectated me piloting the Vindy 1aa that I might've been born to pilot that machine) I just wanted to post this because, there are ALOT of people not just in the AUX but more out there who could play this free game, and we're active here just on the Discord (We have ALOT of builds) Cheers

2025-07-01 04:33:14 +0000 UTCG'day Tex. In latest podcast you were talking about how 40K ripped off many other settings. You were saying that if you like a thing, then you should go to the source. So my question is: Since I like BattleTech, do you have any recommendations for material that may have inspired BattleTech?

2025-07-01 01:12:54 +0000 UTCdo you see battletech adapt to current tactics like the explosion in drone use and more mobile artillery or what ever the real big thing is if those are wrong observations.

2025-06-30 22:25:00 +0000 UTCHey Tex. Save voice as needed Glad the crew is back home safe. Agree with you about travel in that it’s essentially rolling the dice on “what disease am I gonna have today”. Patton Oswald was right about the devolution of the plane into the “rocket bus in the sky”. Definitely glad to hear about the change in pacing for the Black Knight. Keeping things fresh and honing your craft is what separates us from the machines. Looking forward to seeing the results. My buddy from the 101st can tell you tons of stories about wasted resources. One example would be how his platoon was used to escort humanitarian workers on tours to hand out candy and gatoraid to the people in the whole “win hearts and minds” campaign when they could’ve used anyone else. Another being how they had to escort Airforce personnel to a new base and then back again because the new base “didn’t have air conditioning and thus was uninhabitable”. “Could’ve used 10th mountain for that.” Using paratroopers for guard duty was just one of the thousands of moronic tactics used in Iraq and Afghanistan. It really put things into perspective as to why so many vets were so bitter after they came home and the aftermath of the Afghanistan evacuation only made that worse. So it doesn’t shock me to know that there would’ve been millions upon millions upon millions in wasted equipment and resources misallocated. And that’s not even getting into the fun of the equipment that was issued that didn’t function properly like a side arm they issued him that had ZERO RIFLING IN THE BARREL. Real fun would be to bring up the mefloquine these guys were issued that not only didn’t treat the strain of malaria in that region but also caused brain damage and fugue states. This dude could write a whole sitcom about the nonsense he went through. What are your thoughts on the Hermes 2. Specifically as a skirmisher. Have to deal with some capellans soon and could use a tip on this war crime machine.
