Tex, Save voice as needed. I thought you might like to hear something nice. I recently ended up going on a date that went well and has lead to something ongoing. The topic we both agreed to discuss on that first date was Traveler. You might say that, in these troubled times..."Love can Bloom". I hope that got a chuckle or at least a good-natured groan out of you. I enjoy a good "if you know, then you know", especially when it refers to things from the older internet. I directed her to your Amaris Civil War and Clans series for additional shared interests, but she ended up going and looking up your Battletech 101 Great Houses video because she kept stopping to look things up while watching Amaris Civil War 1. So my question is this: Short of telling her "Go read all of Sarna", where might I direct someone who needs a good primer on the basics of the Battletech setting, at least enough to understand all the factions at play in the Amaris Civil War? The more I hear about the Black Knight and Traveler documentary, the more I look forward to them. I hope you are feeling better than you were last week. I know how these seasonal changes can act on our bodies as we age. I tell myself that if you can push through, so can I. Thank you, as always, to you and everyone over there for everything you all do.

Hey Tex. Save voice as needed Nifty little thing. My dad showed me something from his collection that I think you’d find interesting. He has an Old M-1 Cabine from World War Two he used to have as a truck gun. Bought it way back when he was starting out as a deputy sheriff in the 70’s. (Oh yeah he’s old school mustache and choke hold era). Anyway we did a little digging and found out that that specific weapon was built by GM in 44 and saw service in the pacific. Here’s where things get really interesting. My grandfather (who I never got to meet as he passed away in 73) served in the pacific in the navy aboard a carrier. So in a distant way this weapon is connected to my granddad. (Also a fun fact my granddad was stationed in the Philippines as his port of call which is all kinda of funny because my wife was a marine in the Philippines.) Funnier still the fact that my father has always been a GM guy (literally built from junk his first car which was a Chevy Belair 55 coup) and drove it fir decades afterwards) only making exceptions for Jeeps. Anyway I figured you’d get a kick outta that. (And yes my grandfather and father were Coca-Cola men who refused to drink non Coke products because “they were there for our boys to pep em up for free when everyone else wanted a nickel for em. Coke is americas brand”! ). Since then my dad keeps that rifle in a place of pride and pampers it more than his own kids 😂. Which leads me into my next question What would the BattleMech equivalent of an M-1 Carbine be? My thoughts were something second line or for paratroopers so something with jump jets, close quarters and meant for quick engagements. So maybe the Enforcer? What are your thoughts? (I may have to make a character for FedSuns as well. 😂 The tism demands it). Anyway kinda random tism rambling this week of something neat. You know how it is. Hope everything is doing well. Keep up the good work.
