THE END OF JANUARY, AND REMINDERS!

Tex, please save voice as always. Sorry to hear last week that your back is screwed up like mine. Have you ever found anything to manage the pain/fatigue? I finally feel a little better after getting an Intrathecal Pump last year, but that was a last ditch option; even opiates weren't working anymore. Thanks to you and the BPL for all your fantastic content over the years. It's certainly been a boon to my sanity between surgeries. I know you're a private guy, but I'm here if you want to discuss treatments/doctors/whatever. Just trying to help where I can. That aside: I just started on Star Track, after loving the awesome that was the Magistratum Mundanus. I'm wondering, are the Session Zeroes for either series online anywhere? I keep hearing them mentioned, but wonder if they were lost like the beginning of Traveller.

2026-02-07 05:12:41 +0000 UTCThank you for the end of the month reminder (though I saw it after the start of Feb). Decided that I would actually up tier my donation since you can't stop me and no you can't downvote a patreon comment.

2026-02-05 20:37:19 +0000 UTCI haven’t checked in since before the Black Knight & man it’s a hell of an awesome film! I’ll continue to fund this fun ship till I crash into the rocks. If Patreon folds & we must use a barter system, I can pay you in bullets & gasoline! As always, find a lil time to be well to yourself . Cheers! 🍻

2026-02-05 00:08:21 +0000 UTCTex and BPL - Still stoked on the Black Knight and sharing it out with appreciative folks. Sorry to hear about the work hours man, I did that post seperation/divorce for 4 years and it was brutal but I eventually was able to slide out (and took a near 40k a year pay cut). Can't wait to see whats up and out next.

2026-02-04 02:41:49 +0000 UTCHey Tex, hope you're doing well. (Save voice as needed) I was struck by your conversation regarding going back and revisiting earlier works you did. Gotta say...DON'T...yes, the UrbieMech redux was a gift that keeps on giving, especially the Urbie Durbie afterwards. However, I agree with you. Going back and redoing things because you suddenly think, "I could do that better" is exactly like George Lucas. Is it cool, well...yeah, but is it necessary? No. With everything Lucas did to A New Hope, it's no wonder that people are asking to see the ORIGINAL Theater edition that Disney won't put out, because when you strip all the extras, reshoots, and CGI goodies, it is a different creature entirely. If you were to do the same thing for say...the MadCat or the Thor, or even the Awesome, it would be cool, but it would take away from what you did because THAT is what got many of us to watch you (in my humble opinion). The videos you release NOW are productions of epic scale that we love to sit down and watch, because they're practically movies now. But the ones you did early on were the foundations upon which you built not only yourself, but where you brought in all the other people who have so greatly added to the greatness that has become Tex Talks Battletech. So stick to your guns and thank you for yet another great production in the Black Knight...and looking forward to the Highlander, hopefully with lots of references to the bagpipe wailing of the God-damn Black Watch!

2026-02-03 18:42:19 +0000 UTCI will continue to fund this while I am able, as I appreciate the content and approach of all of your content. Please continue to take care of yourself as you are best able.

2026-02-02 14:04:26 +0000 UTCTex, save ur voice I've recently been playing Fallout 1 and I've been really enjoying it. I've already found the water chip and figured out the mutant invasion is going on, but I haven't gotten as far as finding the Master. I'm currently trying to join the Brotherhood of Steel mainly to get power armor and potentially to see something i haven't seen in ur Scrombles playthrough. Speaking of which, is there something that u feel that every new player should experience in Fallout 1?

2026-02-02 03:06:33 +0000 UTCNah see you're doing it all wrong. You gotta pour the patreonbux into building a time machine, then you'll have all the time and money you could ever want! But more seriously, as far as affordance goes, the way I see it is this; I can't give much, but if, over the course of a production, the amount I've given adds up to enough that it might have bought someone on the team something when they really needed it, even if it was something small - that's a win, no matter how small, and these days you gotta take every win you can get. Anyone who says money can't buy happiness hasn't had to deal with a sour mood that would've been resolved by a well-timed tub of ice cream (or bacon (or bacon ice-cream)). It may be fleeting, but most things are.

2026-02-01 18:19:51 +0000 UTCTex, save your voice. I think it's come up before, but I live in Minneapolis. I live in a neighborhood that is a big mix of every sort. I have neighbors who have lived here since their house was built in the 50s or 60s, I have neighbors who are young families who want to raise their kids here, and a good bit of my neighbors are people who moved to Minnesota, or to the United States, to find a good life. As you can probably guess, this month has been A Lot (tm). We're doing what we can to help each other out. We watch out for each other. We are coming together and becoming a stronger community for it. You're one of my neighbors too, if a virtual one. I'm proud to know you. One of the important things I've learned from this is that we can survive anything - but we also need to live. A little sabbatical sounds to me like a good way for you to get a little vocal rest while the choir sings, to give yourself a moment to take a nice deep breath from your diaphragm, and do a few things to help you recharge. Live, ok? Don't just survive. Live. I think you know this, but sometimes we just need to hear it from the outside. Keep your head up and your knees loose, in the words of the good Dr. Thompson. Mahalo, and of course, FUCK ICE.
