Behind the Scenes: Comics Process Part 7 (FINAL)

After saving the lineart, I make a copy of the file and prep to do the colors. I made a palette of all the main characters so I can just pick the colors easily. I pretty much just paintbucket everything, both to retain the "Sunday Comics" look, and also because it's the fastest.

Normally I color 5 pages at a time. I would color, say, Kat first on all the pages first, then move to Felicia, than Jordan, etc. When all the characters are colored, I work on props, BGs, etc.

I save the files as CMYK 600dpi. For the web version I convert to RGB and save as 72dpi PNG files, which is what I upload on the site.

There you go! Hope I did a good job showing how I make the comic! Lemme know if you have more questions, or there are something I'm unclear on.
