Sorry to be "Captain Pedantic" but I have to correct a couple of things: Queensryche's EP came out in 1983, The Warning came out in 1984 and Rage for Order was 1986. Yes, QR and Fates Warning absolutely were the pioneers of Progressive Metal and you REALLY need to hear the John Arch (vocals) era of Fates Warning, much darker and heavier. "Awaken the Guardian" is a Prog-METAL masterpiece (Metal in caps because it's really heavy for 1986, one of the very few bands that tuned down a whole step back then). The Sorceress and Guardian are both great introductions to that album, you will be blown away by John's voice and the incredible vocal melodies he wrote. The Warning and Awaken the Guardian are both worthy of full album playthroughs, you will be impressed, I guarantee it.

I love your Daily Doug reactions to video game/anime music, so I joined for the express purpose of hopefully exposing you to more – needless to say I was beyond thrilled I already got a start on it 😁 There'll be more to come, and I hope you enjoy!

Great recording and great songs! sad I missed it! Of course, when I’m all geared up and gung-ho to join in this week, I have a thing come up and can’t, and that’s when my tune gets played. 🤣
