Doug on Demand: Episode 3

Comments

That King Crimson performance was awesome! thanks to whom recommended it!

Robert Thornton

Doug - have you done any of the Peter Gabriel songs from his newest album?

MikeCarr

He always likes Kansas when he reviews them, but still doesn't get around to them very often.

peter drysdale

Thank you for doing that! Yeah, that combo would definitely be good for the channel. He needs to do Leftoverture, and then he can take the two songs on the list from that album and use them in Daily Doug later.

peter drysdale

I'd also love for him to get to Leftoverture as an EPL along with Lamplight Symphony and Icarus (BOWS), but I'm trying to ration myself!

Ross Pollack

I got JfM into Doug on Demand simply because I loved your recommendation and was disappointed it didn't make it onto the master list. It's one of my top 3 Kansas songs. I'd love to get both Mysteries and Mayhem / The Pinnacle in there back to back, but not quite sure how I will make that happen.

Ross Pollack

I like that they're playing A Glimpse of Home on this tour. Monolith has some great songs.

peter drysdale

Apercu - Death of Mother Nature Suite would be very cool… I think a great EPL would be Monolith!

Steve Hartke

On a side note… I know I’m not in The Council of Dougs, and do not get to request a tune, but it would be cool to hang out with you all, and listen and chat along… ✌️

Steve Hartke

This album is the John Paul Jones album, a very different sounding Led Zeppelin album. Story, rumor, is that Jimmy Page was battling heroin at the time, well enough to produce the album, but his writing and playing, in my opinion are subpar. Doug, you would know Fool in the Rain. As far as the song played, the middle, slow section, Plant is referencing Page not coming to Plant’s son’s funeral, “ Where was your word, where did you go? Where was your helping, where was your bow?” As in his violin bow, used in Dazed and Confused. Had Bonham not died, it would have been interesting to see where Zeppelin would have gone with their music…

Steve Hartke

The Pinnacle needs to be on his list.

peter drysdale

Someday. I was annoyed when I submitted JfM that he said something about having several from Kansas already. I love Yes, but he's done probably 20 videos of their songs and albums. And two of the songs on the list are from Leftoverture, which is also on the list. Oh well, he managed to get to it anyway.

peter drysdale

I was able to get Apercu - Death of Mother Nature Suite on the master list, so we'll get that someday soon we hope!

Matthew Hackbert

That's become my favorite Kansas song in the past couple of years. And you're right, lots of great songs from the early days.

peter drysdale

Always thought that would be a good one… So much good early Kansas!

Steve Hartke

Saw Lindisfarne a couple of months back in Scotland. Sooperb music from mostly my youth. The chap who does most of the vocals is the son in law of one the bands original songwriters. His voice is so like Allan Hull’s it is unreal. If any body hasn’t heard much of the band, try Fog on the Tyne. Wonderful music

John Baird

I was the one who had submitted Journey from Mariabronn on Discord last year. I knew Doug would enjoy it if he heard it. I'm glad he got the chance. Would still be great to hear it on Daily Doug one of these days.
