After Cyrus the Great of Persia died, his second son Bardya was given rule over the Bactrian province, home to the highest concentration of Selaiki. His province was also exempted from taxes to ensure his loyalty to his eldest son Cambyses who was to succeed to the Persian throne. As a political move, Bardya married a Selaiki princess, who was the fourth daughter of the current Queen of Selga, along with two Persian princesses. Eventually, Bardiya became the new king of the Persian empire after succeeding his brother. It was the first significant feudal interaction between the Selaiki and Human dynasties.
