Does History Really Repeat Itself?

This video was suggested by Patreon supporter Andrew B. Glad I finally got around to making it! I'm still working through that suggestions list. I appreciate your patience as I try to balance making videos about stuff I know will do well for the channel, stuff needed for my curriculum at school, stuff I just plain like, and stuff you suggest.

Do you agree with my assessment that we're probably in the longest conservative stretch in American history? Or, perhaps all those cycles are absolutely wrong? :)

Thanks for your continued support!

Does History Really Repeat Itself?

Yeah, the Democratic Party was largely still been part of the establishment for decades. Until a a political revolution of some sort happens, we might be stuck in this phase for awhile.

So this is an interesting topic, and a nice way to pull us back a little and get some perspective especially given what just happened in Louisville. I agree that the Clinton administration, and the Obama, were not liberal in the classical sense. In the grand scheme of things, goverment sposored health care is a centrist position, and Clinton could not even attain that, and it looks like, in the end, neither could Obama. The draconian policing encouraged by Clinton was certainly conservative. And funding for more police, might have been his single biggest domestic accomplishment. In pushing Biden past Bernie Sanders, I think the Democrats have done it again. They continue to be the party of the not so bad. But the memory of Thomas Eagleton, Jimmy Carter, and Walter Mondale still looms large wiith the Baby Boomer controlled party, which is making them afraid to make the nessesary changes to really effect the change they espose to desire. As a GenXer, I really dislike the melba toast, hippy dippy Democratic Party that we now see. I hope Schlesinger (s) were right.
