What PragerU Gets Wrong About U.S. Immigration

If I had more time, I'd go after PragerU more often. I'll never forget stumbling upon them as a fifth-year teacher thinking they had legitimate educational videos. That's my biggest gripe with them- they pretend they are not propaganda, and now they are trying to get into school curriculums across the country.

Anyway, it was great to work with Define American for this one. They helped a lot. It actually looks like a professional video. lol

Back to lame animations next week, but I do think you'll enjoy next week's video. :)

Thank you for your continued support!

What PragerU Gets Wrong About U.S. Immigration

Comments

Yeah, their immigration videos are particularly misleading.

Mr. Beat

I think consumerism has largely hurt families. (just my opinion) Living in big houses and only being on social media, for example, has kept us more isolated.

Mr. Beat

I find so many YouTubers like PragerU are strongly biased with their presentation and information. It's like walking thru a land mine trying to get truth in media and on the internet.

Gael Guerard

I hope we can return to a family oriented culture. It seems in the last couple of decades the family unit has suffered.

Gael Guerard

That's pretty smart. Yeah Crowder is a comedian who is entertaining, but definitely should be looked at critically with regards to informative content.

Mr. Beat

Very good points, and you got me thinking about the border wall in a different way.

Mr. Beat

I never knew about that. Thanks for sharing. Every PragerU video I've seen makes it come across as if they are just trying to inform.

Mr. Beat

Yeah, I think immigrants are only a net positive for our country, and one of the big reasons why the United States has found so much success through its history. If we want to compete with China, we're going to have to allow for more immigration.

Mr. Beat

Well thank you. :)

Mr. Beat

Last comment. I knew PragerU was untrustworthy the moment they had Steven Crowder teach history. I love Crowder but I watch his show and he said he finds history boring. so I knew when he spoke of something historical it wasn't reliable. In the video, he did I agreed with the premise that we shouldn't condemn Christopher Columbas but when he talked about other parts of that video to make his point his nuances were overblown, or outright unfactual. So when I watch a PregerU video nowadays I first read who is speaking and what their credentials are first. which is something I normally don't worry about as I self study a lot and understand others who do too. PragerU I make exceptions for this and check credintals.

Immigrating legally to any country is hard. I tried immigrating to Zambia Africa,it is smoother on paper but much harder in action then the US. it takes 10 years to get citizenship and you can only apply after 5 years of being a resident. which sounds easy till you talk to the immigration officals and then find out that is really 5 +10= 15. and your like. "why couldnt you be clearer on that? im thinking resedent for 5 years then apply and since ive been here for 5 years that leaves me 5 years left to become a citizen." The United States i think should have borders, should have strong border control to help rescue those being sold into sex trafficking as slaves. So im for a wall as it helps deter the type of illegal immigration i am concerned with. People overstaying their visas im not so worried about. The United States is also a creedal nation. what that means is that we are not a nation based one race or ethnicity, but based on a set of creeds or values. those creds are laid out plainly in the bill of rights, and the declaration of independence. If someone values those things and show understanding of it and the basics of how our government works and why then i see no problem with them immigrating no matter the income. I don't want people coming in just because they want a job, or just because they want to get wealthy. if they use that as their soul reason they tend to reject the creed and often advocate for the same mistakes the places they left committed. I believe we should declare English as our primary national language and Spanish as secondary. the reason why I believe this is that communication between citizens is important for the building of community and the exchange of ideas. we cant depend on English being a dominant global language forever in which every immigrant coming in can speak the majority language or is willing to learn it.

I dont know if it is still up. but one of the early PragerU videos i have seen, they said they are not a legit teaching source and shouldnt be treated that way. i have also seen Dennis Prager say in interviews that he is a bias source. PragerU shouldnt try to say otherwise. and if they are they are making a major mestake. one of the things that sets Conservative media apart is the admition of bias. They will point out we are bias and admit it test what we say and research yourself. and the leftest media says "we are truth and unbiased you can trust us." So if Preger U is calling themselves unbiased or saying they are purely education then they are making a mistake that will shake trust in them from their own core audiance.

Watching you rip into PragerU is euphoric, great video once again!

My grandfather immigrated to this country in the 1910s from Sicily. He was embarrassed about his heritage, changed his last name, and moved to the west coast from New York. All of this was due multiple rules and social constructs which would have not allowed him to succeed. He did succeed, he became an Army Cornel, and President of a large engineering company. He even held the patent for Register Heat. But because of the shame associated with his ancestry we ate ham, with Wonder bread, and Twinkies at the grandparents, even though they were born in the Mediterranean. Videos like the one you just debunked are why we haven't really changed much at all in 100 years.
