Can You Fire Someone For Being Transgender? | Bostock v. Clayton County

No, you can't. But this case is why. In this video, I explain this important Supreme Court case. That's right, folks. SUPREME COURT BRIEFS RETURNS.

This one might get demonetized and has no sponsor, so thank you again for your supporting me on here. Patreon support is a big reason why I occasionally release videos about important topics even though I may not have a sponsor, ad revenue, or even that many views. Yep, this video probably won't get that many views, but I don't freaking care.

Yes I have! Especially with someone like David Souter. Thanks for the comment, Nate. I hope you are doing well.

I wasn’t aware of this case. I am sure it is one of your more polarizing videos out there. Thank you for bringing much need attention to cases like these in an objective fashion. I was actually surprised by the 6-3 ruling. Every once in a while the Supreme Court makes the right call. Have you ever considered a series of videos examining the justices and how their rulings on cases have evolved ideologically during their tenure on the court? As always thank you for the great content !

I'll never forget first hearing that Gorsuch wrote the majority opinion for this case. It definitely caught me off guard at the time. To answer your question, yep. The dissent argued the same has the Appeals Court before it- applying sexual orientation and gender identity to Civil Rights Act employment protections was a too loose of interpretation in their minds. Happy Election to you, too.

Mr. Beat

Once again fantastic video, surprised a conservative justice like Gorsuch would vote with the liberal justices in a case such as this. I do have a question though 1. Did the justices in the dissent vote the way they did because gay rights weren't specifically listed in the Civil Rights Act It's a great video, so sorry that this series gets less attention because it's one of my favorite series. Happy Election Day

Woah! That's amazing to hear. Thank you so much, Edward. That means a lot. :)

Mr. Beat

I just watched and it's good... though I wonder if it would be decided in the same manner today. That said, I've been wanting to report that I was able to get a copy of "The Power of Our Supreme Court" from our state library network and enjoyed it enough to buy a copy. Your summaries of the individual cases are well done, but the rest is particularly worthwhile. Bravo!
