Generations, Explained

This is perhaps the most epic video I have made since the Truman video. I went all-in, even hitting the streets again and even interview my daughter and...wait for it...my PARENTS. I had so much fun producing it. I hope you enjoy it.

Have a wonderful 4th of July (Independence Day as we call it here in the United States) and thank you for your continued support!

Generations, Explained

Comments

haha I don't associate with Disney stuff or Harry Potter at all, either!

Mr. Beat

It was cool to see you interview someone born in 1997. That was the year I was born and I get labeled something different every week between Gen Z and Millennial. That experience has left me thinking generations are more arbitrary than they maybe are. It does feel like a unique place to exist having a personality that pulls from stereotypes of both generations. But mostly Gen Z, I don't fw Disney or Harry Potter lol. Great video as always!

Chums McGuffey

yessssssir

Daniel Kolbin

It is stupid and lazy to call a generation stupid and lazy. Stereotypes, bad reasoning, and overreacting are the simple reasons so many think that. And that as only been amplified by the Internet. On the contrary, Gen Z is one of the smartest.

Update- I deleted the sponsor, Betterhelp. I am no longer working with them. It's a long story, but apparently they are very shady company. So this video no longer has a sponsor other than you all. Thank you for sponsoring it. :) The new link is now posted. If you commented on the other video, I'm sorry but I'm deleting that one.

Mr. Beat

I'm mixed with that statement on my generation. Being in a busy retail job, stupidity isn't just a Gen Z issue.

Adam Christians

I think moderation is the key for everything.

Mr. Beat

You definitely don't fit the stereotype, Gael!

Mr. Beat

LOL!

Gael Guerard

No one wants to be a "Beta".

Gael Guerard

That's interesting because I am a Boomer and relate more to the Gen X'ers. Also I find Boomers are underestimated in technology use but are blamed for the current financial and political mess we are in. Doh!

Gael Guerard

Gen Z is stupidest and laziest of the generations. Starting to see it in EMS with new hires.

Erik Hernandez

My wife and I have agreed our kid isn't going to be brain washed with a tablet.

Erik Hernandez

The generations topic is interesting. I feel unfairly judged sometimes as a "Boomer". Granted Boomers have been careless in some things. I think we are all a product of what came before us.

Gael Guerard

Lol, before your video, I heard that generation names are starting over from Z to Alpha in the Greek Alphabet, so that’s why I predicted that Gen Beta would be the next gen’s name, too. πŸ˜‚

Jesse Bakken

Yay, you made it there! I have been a couple times and absolutely adore it. What did you think of the actual house?

Mr. Beat

Thanks for sharing all that, Jesse. An excellent rant. I gotta say, though, your comment just affirms how important generations are to our identities these days. I am barely a Millennial, but feel like I have nothing in common with Gen X. In fact, I feel like I have way more in common with Gen Z than Gen X.

Mr. Beat

Beta? Wait a second, I don't think that will fly. hahaha

Mr. Beat

Looking forward to watching it after work. Wanted to mention really quickly that I went to the Hermitage in Nashville last week. Awesome place?

Michael Burt

I was anticipating that you would make this video one day, and of course, it's another great one. Long rant comment here from all the stress about this over the years, so sorry to act a little negative, but I gotta say one thing I appreciate out of this video. Thank you so very much for getting the millennial timeline correct. I was born in 1996, and I associate myself with the gen I'm assigned in. I've even seen the cutoff throughout school, long before the Pew Research Center even declared 1996 and earlier as millennials and 1997 and later as Gen Z. I felt the differences by looking at it all. Classes of 2014 & earlier and Classes of 2015 & later were two complete different worlds, and I couldn't help but be utterly annoyed with the class of 2015 kids and younger back in school. I felt like I belonged to people my age or older. My feelings for it all since then are still the same. So, I also can't help but be utterly annoyed by people who associate me as Gen Z due to them wrongfully thinking 1996 is Gen Z. I even got angry to death at my older sister for calling me a "zillennial" when I just want to align with millennials ONLY since I personally deem micro-gens as unofficial. I took it as her not wanting to be as accepting of me being a millennial as much as I wish myself to be, and I hate it when nobody else gets it right. And I hate that it's a trend to hate us the most; so much that my uncle and aunt even stereotyped my generation to my face. It's a hard life being a millennial, especially the younger you are as one...

Jesse Bakken

Wonder what the next Generation will be called after Alpha is over, what do you think Matt?

Derek Ray

lol you have a good memory :)

Mr. Beat

1981, you said election night 1984 was your 3rd BDAY.
