You move to snuggle them, throwing your leg over them, your cheek resting on their shoulder. Laz releases a satisfied sigh, their chest heaving slowly.
They don’t extinguish the lights yet. Perhaps they want to read before sleep—there are some work papers lying on their nightstand. Before they can reach for them, you place your hand on their heart and edge forward, tilting your head to press soft kisses to their neck.
“You haven’t changed your mind,” they murmur.
“Why would I?” You bite their skin and suck it into your mouth. “Will you make it easy?” You raise your face to look at them just as they move to meet your gaze. “Or will you keep pretending you don’t want me?”
“I’m not pretending I don’t want you. I want you. But that’s not the point, isn’t it?”
“You’re smart. What do you think?”
They chuckle, rolling their eyes, but you interrupt their amusement with a kiss to their lips. Your hand rises to the back of their head, tangling in their soft hair, and you pull them closer, sighing into their mouth. Laz answers you eagerly, their tongue exploring your mouth with languid strokes.
You’ve missed this, but it’s not enough. Every taste makes you crave what you can have—but what they refuse to give to you.
