Sneak Peeks — A bit of everything

I'm making the SPs vague this time because the update is near and, hopefully, I'll already have the chapter out for you by the next date for SP. These are all from different routes and different parts of the chapter. Enjoy! 😚

“You scare me so much,” you say quietly. “What if I wake up tomorrow and you’re different?”

“Why would I be different?”

[ You lower your hands at last, looking at them, though your eyes are still not dry. ] “I don’t know why you’re like this, so how could I be sure you won’t suddenly change your mind?”

They speak in a low, wobbling voice. “It would be better to focus on finding the real culprit.”

“Do you think you’re innocent? It happened because of you!” [ Name ] releases their collar—only to seize their throat, clenching it tightly.

[ Name ] moves, leaning down, and lies their head on your lap. Your breath catches, and you freeze, afraid to even fidget a little, as if a single move or sound would startle them.

It’s not dark outside. Not anymore. Flames has colored the darkness with an eerie scarlet.

[ Name 1 ] steps into the bright palace, bringing with them the smell of blood and fire. The murmurs in the hallway quieten.

When you see [ Name 2 ] walk behind them, your breath catches.

You raise your hand to their shoulder, your motion deliberately slow and firm. It attracts their attention, and they meet your gaze. They are so close you could count their eyelashes.

“Such a specific question,” you murmur. “Is there a particular answer you want to hear?”

It’s impossible to stop. You don’t even want to think about it. [ Name ] must have the same idea because they press even closer, kissing you with more fervor than you expected. They seem almost impatient, as if they can’t wait to have more of you, to get everything you can give them. As if you have no time left. As if this is your last kiss.
