Sangun: Concept Sketches
Added 2023-03-19 14:59:02 +0000 UTCI'm currently in a long-term RP community (lasting for 10 weeks, been about 3 weeks so far) and the theme is Asian exorcism. An exorcist can either be human or dokkebi (도깨비, Korean goblin) so I created a tiger dokkebi named Sangun.
Sangun actually is an old Korean term for tiger because tigers were believed to be gods that protect the mountains. They also ate humans alot so that's probably where the fear came from.
There are 3 types of exorcism in this RP community: martial-arts focused, spell-focused, and spirit-focused. Spirit-focused exorcists can summon spirits to aid them and Sangun's spirit is a female ghost that he consumed back when he was just a tiger before he came a goblin.
These are the initial concept sketches that I made while designing him. I wanted to create just a normal smoker with a huge ghost behind him with a Korean twist. The mask that the ghost has is for newlywed brides.
Since the community is on-going for awhile, expect to see him interacting with other characters!
