I get in these moods were I get really into a topic and really excited by it so I want to upload it as soon as possible. I always want to be honest with you all because you support me so much, so to make up for it I'll be putting up another video here either today or tomorrow that'll be a Patreon exclusive video. Also I'll start posting some links to older videos that I private. Reason I privated them being this channel started out kinda science/general before becoming mysteries/unsolved but they'll be here if you wanna have a gander. They're not very good lol. 2019-05-09 20:41:43 +0000 UTCWell another YouTuber I watch, Jim Sterling, does not make his videos exclusive and still has gotten pretty big in terms of membership and Patreon support. Yes he has some exclusive things like Q & A and other podcast stuff but to me holding off main content which is videos here for Mike is not what I want as a Patreon supporter. I think seeing it early is good enough and that is enough to stick with. In the past I followed one very large YouTube channel, Linus Tech Tips, and they never have gated off content. Now yes LTT has annoying adds like said by Linus in every single one of their videos from sponsorship but it wasn't what had them get big. Once they got big they could do whatever they wanted and they decided to do that. As for what Mike does he can do what he likes but gating off main content is definitely not something I want to see. Now I see that the channel you mentioned has about 8,000 patrons per year so $96,000 minimum from that but he doesn't share home much he gets which disturbs me. The people I mentioned ... Jim Sterling has 6671 patrons giving a total of $12,777 per month and Linus Tech Tips does Floatplane which as quoted from the LTT website link to Floatplane from their lowest tier ($5) "Membership to the Floatplane Club with early access to Linus Media Group videos" and even when you go the highest tier which is $25 it says we want people to have access to all their videos and so no exclusive videos. So the point is making big money can be done without excluding people from content / main content. My two cents ...

2019-05-08 04:39:16 +0000 UTCI think Jessica said it perfectly. We support you because we love your work, and want more of it! Not so we can hold on to exclusive videos for a short while! But as your audience continues to grow, I think it would be great for you to have some Patreon exclusive videos. If you have ever seen Jim Can’t Swim’s channel, as soon as his channel started to blow up, he began advertising Patreon exclusives at the start of his normal videos, which brought in a TON of patrons because people craved his content so much. Watch some of his recent video intros to get an idea of how he advertises it so effectively, because I think a similar style would be great for you. Something to think about... good luck!
