Sara N - The rule was created because the Indonesian health authority recommends babies & infants are breast fed until the age of 2. The imprisoned mothers also have to use their own money to buy their babies formula/solid food outside of their milk, it's not provided by the prison.

A friend of mine with to the Dominican Republic a buncha years back, and they decided to go to a shopping area outside of hotels grounds. They were warned *not* to do that. She then went to a bathroom without her boyfriend and another woman followed her in and started talking to her, and then followed her out and wanted to introduce her to her boyfriend, who was quickly walking towards them both and looked like he had intent. She luckily spotted her BF and ran to him quickly saying "Baby help me I think that man is going to take me" or something, and then they saw the man and woman already disappearing into the crowd. If the host tells you their area is dangerous, best believe it.
