It was a sister school to Paradise Cove in that they were both operated under the under the same umbrella organization World Wide Association of Specialty Schools (WWASP) the owner and director of Midwest Academy where I was at was a man named Brian Viafanua who was the former director of Paradise Cove years earlier before it was shuttered after multiple suicides. I think this supposed "rehabilitation (from drugs ou just bad behavior) camps" are the worst (and don't get me talking about those that "cure" homossexuality or atheism...). And also think this kind of action reveals laziness and disresponsiveness from the parents: let's ship the troublesome kid to the middle of nowhere and commit him to people we don't even know, who'll submit him to a treatment we DON'T WANT to know, and that's it - no more trouble for us (the parents). This being said, I'm totally horrified with Christopher's actions - and he didn't even had the guts to do it himself (wich I think would be what he'd do, if rage and desire for vengeance were the main feelings present - at this point, greed was probably the main factor). Anyway, thanks a lot, Mike, for working for us even when you're abroad and should be resting (and partying). Hope Christmas was full of joy, and I wish you an extremely happy New Year, with all your wishes coming true! Love ya!

2022-12-26 10:14:28 +0000 UTCOh man, I can relate to this guy, to a point. When I was 17 my parents put me in a drug rehab for teenagers. I was there for 7 months and missed my senior year of high school over it. I didn’t get a senior prom or to even graduate with my class. I was pissed, so was my adult sister who felt it was too extreme. When I got out of that place I went back to my parents house and moved out the night I turned 18. In their defense I was doing a lot of cocaine, but my grades were still good and I worked a little bullshit job to pay for my partying, along with being a high school student. I went on to become an Iv heroin addict about 10 years later. The truth is that my dad could see what I was going to become and tried to stop it. But I had to learn the hard way. It took me a few years to get over it, but I did eventually. But it made me really value my freedom, and I can relate to the rage that kid felt when he learned they had obtained a court order. So did my dad, he was ready for me to come home after about 4 months, but the judge ordered me to complete the program ( with no criminal charges, just the words on a Marchman act) so I had to stay a full 6 months. It was the worst. And I have been to jail, for much longer than 6 months,and that teen program was still much more difficult, the loss of my freedom.
