"It was the straw that broke the dogs Hump over the edge..." that one got me. I'm going to start using that phrase from now on πŸ˜€ Thanks for another good story, Mike!

Kristina Bledsoe

Lynsey Hanratty

OMG That wink and "cuz I love ya "MERRY CHRISTMAS Mike πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸ’ž

Whytwolf

Thank you for covering this one Mike. I watched the documentary on this and was so affected. The survivors strength to come forward was amazing! Such a horrific story, but it must be known.

J

I feel like I’ve said it a dozen times, but you are hands-down the best storyteller on YouTube. True crime stories can get overwhelmingly dark and morbid, but with your sense of humor, and your innate storytelling abilities, they are so much easier to take. Kudos on yet another great video, and the very happiest of holidays to you!

Devin Michael

thanks Mike! Get well soon!

David Procell

Feel better and Happy Holidays, Mike!! We love you! πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’œ

Tanya Ball

Get well soon Mike!

Robert

Drug addiction will take you places you'd never go if sober

murmurzz

I knew I had seen something about this story before and that's it! Really good documentary and touches on an important issue

murmurzz

Since you asked for cites here is one about death penalty stats: https://deathpenaltyinfo.org/facts-and-research/murder-rates/murder-rate-of-death-penalty-states-compared-to-non-death-penalty-states I'm not sure if that'll show up as a clickable link but just copy & paste into your browser if not. Thanks.

murmurzz

If the monster is behind bars for life than the threat has been neutralized ... no need to murder them. People of color have been wrongly convicted on a massive scale. As a true crime fan, I watch shows all the time where a man has spent decades of his life behind bars only to be eventually freed and/or exonerated. Plus, a deterrent means that it's to prevent ppl from doing a particular deed and people are murdering others constantly whether or not their state has capital punishment; therefore the death penalty does not work as it was intended.

murmurzz

I hope you feel better Mike! Thank you for always giving us such great content. We love ya!

Nancy

I am so sorry you are not feeling well. Please take care of yourself as we love you! Loved the video....as always! Can you imagine the stench? We had a mouse die in the walls of our house once and I thought we would die before the smell disappeared.

Rebecca Smithey

How did he have multiple victims with these awful smells?! What woman would even talk to someone who smelled like death?!

SpicyAmyE

Thank you for another Chapter Mike. Please allow yourself to take some time off. Just rest and recoup!

Daisy A.

Happy holidays, Mike! Thanks for everything. We love ya!

Claire

I am so angry, how on earth did this go on for so long? The smell alone should have tipped off the police. Thank you Mike, please take care of yourself and enjoy the festive season.

Sahramon

Feel better soon. Happy Holidays.

Carol Anne

Feel better, Mike! We all love ya!!!

Chelsea Carlson

I wasn't notified of this newest upload!!!!! Hey Mike!!!!!

Expressive Pets

Further, I am a rights activist, who has devoted her life fighting for the innocent (& have had legal encounters; however, I cannot imagine ending up on death row). & since I assume you're a big fan here (as am I), you must have noticed how Canada (the place where death row does not exist) has become an hotbed of homicides & other violent crimes. 'Splain that. Is it the weather, lol? Also, I'd love to see a citation of your sources and stat's, because I really don't believe what you're assuming is true. What I've said is, indeed, true: When you kill a monster, the monster never acts, again (that's a "deterrent").

Dahlia

Well, everyone is entitled to an opinion. The death penalty is INDEED a deterrent (if enforced), the dead arsehole will NEVER commit a crime, again, and most who have been offed by it have been guilty. The old bleeding hearts used to say that they'd rather have no death penalty than one "innocent" guy offed by it. Thing is, 99,???% of citizens, who do the right thing, are the right people and generally behave themselves never end up on death row, and the ones alleged to be "innocent" (which, most aren't...Many are accomplices, in cahoots with the guy who does the killing), are such societal dirt bags that they wind up there. An added benefit these days is that we no longer place as much weight on stranger "eye witnesses". And in response to the bleeding hearts, I say: I'd rather one (allegedly) "innocent" wo/man get offed, than for society to have to tolerate, and carry the weight of thousands of those, who just CANNOT behave in a civilized manner around anyone (& will always be a menace to someone). As far as what you and our buddy, Val says, Ohio's lame/weak use of the death penalty (which, we all know is pretty much, not at all) did nothing to stop Sowell. Had he known he'd be fried after his first violent crime, all those ladies would still be alive.

Dahlia

Mike, it sounds like you need to take a break from being so immersed in so much darkness for a while. We will still be here for you, we love you and you take care xx

Jane Ebbon

If someone ever says systematic racism doesn't exist just show them this. I live in Akron, Ohio which makes Cleveland roughly 40 minutes away from me. My husband's best friend was shot and killed on his daughter's birthday 2 blocks away from his home because he worked hard and had nice things that punks wanted. The cops have done fuck all to find his killer and he is black. Low income, black, or both they really don't give a shit about these people. I see it EVERY SINGLE DAY on the news. This is why people don't even wanna bother with the 5 O around there because they do nothing.

Weezie Tara Crihfield

Love you, Mike. Thank you for honing in on cases in which the folks targeted are underrepresented and ignored by authorities despite them working their arses off to speak up for their communities. Particularly appreciate you seeing those nuances from across the pond. Take care of yourself. No, seriously. We’ll be here.

Evonne Acevedo

Val Rendel is correct in stating that capital punishment states have enormous rates of homicides. That's not to say that other states don't have serial killers and random murders because of course they do .. every place does at one point or another. Since justice is blind and measured, the death penalty was supposed to be a DETERRENT and not REVENGE and it's been proven again and again that it is not a deterrent in the slightest. Plus, if there's the chance of executing an innocent person (which has happened) then it shouldn't exist at all. Can you imagine being convicted and eventually executed for a crime you didn't commit? It's frightening. The US is supposed to be great (or whatever), we shouldn't be letting states murder ppl under the guise of "justice"

murmurzz

Hello, Mike, and thanks for keep posting videos, even when you don't feel well. YOU must take care of yourself! Your vacation was too short, and probably you didn't rest as much as you needed. Love you back!

Paula Bernardes-Silva

Merci Mike!

Irene Veronica

Thanks for upload Mike .My god all those families left without mum's daughters / sisters. Police should have done more ...just as an afterthought how he hell did he remain in the house with those bodies . He's a super twisted, murderous piece of crap .

Eileen Fothergill

One wrong pin prick & there you are.

Dahlia

Hope you feel better soon.

Capt. Rick Allen

Mike you need to get some rest dude, you seem under the weather quite a bit. Take care of you and your family. Happy Holidays πŸŽ„πŸ™

jennifer h

Fuckin' hell man. The fact that so many women feel too ashamed or unsafe to report heinous attacks like these is just as sad as how few authorities seem to give a damn, imo. Sad so many died before this SOB got caught.

Liz C

Did anyone else think it said 'The Striking Cleveland Steamer' at first glance? Lol

Wade

I'm not sure what you are referring to in terms of people who work with people with HIV being at high risk? We are well past the days when people were frightened of getting the virus from a handshake for one thing.

Sara N

You weren't kidding, Mike, this really was a house of horrors. Those poor women. And the survivors, scarred for life. Evil walks amongst us. 😞 I hope you get to feeling better in no time, Mike. Take care of yourself. Cuz I love ya.

Deanna D

feel better mike. xo

Analyn Camacho

Cleveland has an inordinate share of serial killers. This isn't the first house they've bulldozed and it won't be the last, sadly.

Laura Jane

Ain't no menacing going on here. The truth is what it is & how about you cite your sources & stats about death penalty states (now, I'm laughing). CA may say it has one, but it doesn't (they have to volunteer). Remember Richard Ramirez? How about Rodney Alcala? What about Lawrence Bittaker? Wasn't it cuddly that they all got to die of "natural causes"? & isn't CA, land of the limp wrist, where most of our psycho killers come from? The death penalty means nothing to them. Wake up.

Dahlia

Mike day!❀️

Diane Hering

Uh, no. "High risk of danger" is nowhere near the same category as "high risk of danger and of being targeted by some psycho AND society/the law not giving a single fuck." States with the death penalty have higher homicide rates. This is because there is less incentive to leave the victims alive. But go on fulminating, it's funny.

Val Rendel

We love you too and wishing well. This is so horrible, poor families and victims.

Wanda Morales

Cops: 0/10 would not recommend

Val Rendel

I love you MORE!!

Leesa Bloom

Aww. Take care of yourself too Mike, cuz we love you too!!! <3

Elizabeth Chancellor

Thank your for helping ease the school day before winter break.

S. Noelle Melton

Ahhhhhh you were so charming Mike at the end! Thanks and very we’ll done for wrapping up such a troubling horror and officials negligence story once again. I can’t think of any other creations as fabulous as yours. Boy you’re good! And please take some time off to get better!

Mme Z

Great, Great show man! Thanks!

Michael Morten

I been refreshing this page for 🌳 hrs waiting for todays video u never disappoint mike u have quite a talent for making great videos out of horrible stories thanx for the content keep it comin.

Thomas Joseph

I live in Ohio & really have hated all of it but Cleveland, until now. It's definitely the serial killer capital of OH, so I guess, Ohio sucks, in general. I may have mentioned this before but the governor is my neighbor...Really would be great if he'd fire up "ol' sparky", again. And another thing, folks are always using the old "high risk lifestyle" to degrade poor & desperate victims of crime. Don't firefighters & folks who work with HIV patients fall under that "high risk" label, too?

Dahlia

Hope you feel better soon!

Amethyst

Unfortunately for me, this guy is a real hometown zero...thanks for another great video Mike!!

SaucyAssNippleChops

Great thumbnail! πŸ˜‚ Thanks Mike, can't wait to watch later, something to look forward to to end a long day.

Alessia

This video isn't loading at all for me, all I can see is the title. Strange! *Edit* does now work on browser, not on Patreon app.

Vanessa Gordon

Zebra out.

Zebra

Thank you for doing more videos on diverse victims, i.e. people of color or GLBTQ folx. It's refreshing and so needed. They never get as much coverage.

Johanna

Another interesting story, thanks, Mike. I like the garden. That’s nice.

Zebra

I remember this story so welI. I remember seeing that footage of the lady falling from the window for the first time. I can't imagine how he could live with all of those bodies. At least John Bunting lost his sense of smell.

Marty_61

human beings need to be regulated. They can’t manage themselves.

Zebra

What are people?

Zebra

Feel better soon, Mike!

Dear Prudence

Haha I just decided to wear my winter jumper!
