The Chilling Affair of Christa Worthington

The Chilling Affair of Christa Worthington

Comments

My comment wasn’t made to offend anyone at all. It was made for someone like you. (Someone who ‘gets the joke,’ without having to guide them towards it. Then it ruins it. You know?) Actually, I think what really makes me love this channel so much is Mikes references to Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and now, Arrested Development.). Don’t you think? 🤗

Stan

"Bullshitely" lmao, my new favorite word. Also I HIGHLY recommend Stephanie Harlow's videos about this case, pretty damn riveting imo.

Liz C

I loved the "cat behind your ear" trick, that was a fun surprise!

Rhonda Jockisch Tisdale

I wanted to know to, so I looked up the daughter. She was adopted by a friend of her mothers, had regular contact with her dad and his family, and is now in college.

Rhonda Jockisch Tisdale

Yes, babies do instinctively nurse, but in this case the baby was 2 1/2 years old, so would definitely know how to do it.

Rhonda Jockisch Tisdale

But what happened to the daughter, the gold-digger & daddy? I need closure 😩

Beelicious

Thank you for briefly adding GOB's "illusion" theme music!

Jess Stanley

This case is so interesting..Is he saying that they had consensual sex and then later she was found killed the same night? And that she was having consensual sex in front of her daughter? I'm confused on the timeline. But, from my experience just because someone seems gentle and smooth taking and charming does not mean they couldn't kill someone..that could be their MO. And the neighbor seems flaky for sure, but, maybe he was just too emotionally attached to her and her daughter and was finding ways to check on them? Wish I knew..I hope her daughter is ok.

Found Girl

...and he was just returning a flashlight..? I think once nobody else found her and he knew the baby was alone with a corpse he made up a reason that could maybe justify why he came over so they would finally be discovered

murmurzz

I agree we don't have gbe volume. You would think we could keep them in there for a good 25 years for their actions and make it a reality check for those people who act so carlessly or ruthlessly

Natasha

I think the neighbor did it. Who comes upon a scene like that and says “I think she fell down”? WTF!!!!

Julia Dez

This story background reminded me of American Horror Story Double Feature. So sad all the way around. Just hearing that baby was nursing on her mom - I was no more good. Excellent job as always

Heather M

Yes, especially at that age and if she was hungry/thirsty. They know.

Batman Jeph

Sounds like racial profiling to me

James Herington

Boston police are legendarily corrupt. Cape Cod is a very very very rich enclive of Boston

Peri Lyons

Also cape cod up to some racist ass shit i feel like it has to be the weirdo ex bf leaving her all the voicemails he’s sus as hell or the heroin squad trying to keep that money for themselves

Jordan Genetti

My gf accidentally let my cat out and it’s supposed to snow three inches tonight so seeing conspiracy captain and your kitty was a nice reprieve from thinking about that, thank you, Mike

Jordan Genetti

wow. echelon! <3

Oslo Zeimantz

Thanks for the video 💜. West Memphis Three is an outrageous case, miiiiight be something you're interested in looking into.

AW

First off, how do you quantify "too many"? Was it because, eventually one of her sex partners murdered her? Will we only know a woman has had the single, critical fuck that put her in the "oopsie woopsie you did too many fuckies and now you go in the forever box" zone once she's dead? Or is there an actual number, or hell, even a helpful guesstimate or rule of thumb to save women's lives? Or is having sex always a death sentence? My guy, the vast majority of women murdered in America, are murdered by those shining knights "in the home" with them you speak of. They beat, abuse their wives, kids, and sometimes kill them, so stop letting your crippling fear of female sexuality make you sound like a moron. In your mind, are men just inherently bad? Will they always be capable of raping and stabbing a woman to death with her baby in the room? Cuz they ain't, sweetpea. And that "boys will be boys" fallacy is exactly why women are still dying terrible, unnecessary deaths. We simply have to raise our sons better. Lastly, if we're going to place blame on Crista, let's take a look at the other men in her life too, who failed her from it's very beginning by never teaching her about danger, and the need to stay armed. She also clearly dated losers, despite being gorgeous, kind, and intelligent... I suspect no one had instilled her with much real self worth. So lets throw a chunk of the blame at those men along with her and her murderer, maybe a nice 30 30 40 split? Now excuse me, I'm going to clean my G23 and go find myself some particularly libertine sex. God bless America.

Liz C

do babies instinctively know to nurse? i've never thought about it and i don't have kids but i found that part interesting that ava would know how to nurse on her own without being assisted. that part broke my heart. also i lean more towards it being the neighbor he gave off serious weird vibes and his voicemails make it seem like she was ghosting him so why would she have loaned him a flashlight? seems suspish

Rebecca

I don't know he might have done it but there is definitely reasonable doubt!!

Tiff De Jong

Ahoy there Captain Mike matey 🏴‍☠️ ⛵ another great episode, thank you for making the time and effort to cover the cases you do it's really appreciated hon. I think the neighbour is really suspicious, those voicemails he left sounded like he didn't want or couldn't let her go. Stay safe my friend x 🤗 x

Andrea Nash

You are amazing at how you can bring so many aspects of a case forward. There’s definitely something not

Terri Benson

Natasha: you’re not wrong. The Brentwood 5 killer: out. The “Runaway Devil” family killer n Medicine Hat: out. Karla Homolka: out.

Terri Benson

I remember when I was going through my divorce & the husband of my good friend commented that if I killed him (my ex) I would get out of jail faster than going through my divorce. Of course he was kidding but not wrong. The most I would have spent in jail is 7yrs… life: it’s a max of 25yrs. I’m not sure the Canadian system is better, but we don’t deal we the volume that other countries do.

Terri Benson

@Evonne—Yup. We’ve all been watching too much true crime when we clean our places so they won’t look messy in potential crime scene photos. 😆

Lisa Bourgault

That first voicemail from the guy next door—that’s the thing that made me suspicious of him. He sounded petulant and angry and childishly manipulative, and set off alarm bells in my head. I think the guy in prison was royally screwed over and Mr Creepo next door was the one who dunnit.

Lisa Bourgault

It always surprises me how many people in America have unjust trials and everyone just carries on like it's no big deal and appeals are denied. On the other hand, in Canada, you can murder someone and be out in 3 years if you're mentally ill and 10 years if you're fine and show "good behaviors" in jail.

Natasha

I also found the "saliva on the breast" troubling, because it hearkened back to poor little Ava nursing . . . is there some DNA crossover? And the only account of Ava nursing from her mom's body was from the clingy neighbor. Hmmmmmmmm.

Evonne Acevedo

@Emma honestly sometimes it's my only motivation to clean. XX

Evonne Acevedo

I hope pictures of my messy messy house never make it online due to my untimely homicide. People's messy homes make me feel even sadder though because it's just such an honest, intimate view. An intrusion they never asked for, nor wanted. As always, Mike covers these tragedies best ... never forgetting the victims and those harmed. Love ya guys. <3

Emma Evans

Right? The only evidence that I find troubling is the salvia on her breast. He would've had to had contact with her that night if that evidence is accurate...because she would've showered. I just don't know if even the evidence or labs could be trusted. Poor poor Ava.

Emma Evans

As a sex worker...I'm not at all offended that show was brilliant (but I'd suggest putting it in quotes so people know it's a quote and not your opinion)

Emma Evans

Poor little Ava. This is such a tragic case.

S. Noelle Melton

Cable Guy!!!

Joel Herdell

Illusions Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money.

Stan

No way. I don’t believe they got the right guy. Not at all!

Tessa Jones

People love throwing the word misogynistic out like it’s nothing. I’m just saying more often women are the target of most of these types of crimes and the numbers get worse when it’s a women that lives alone. Nothing misogynistic about that just a fact.

Red Face

If this isn’t the single most misogynistic comment I’ve ever seen....idk what is🤦🏻‍♀️

Anne Miner-Slothower

thankyou

naja_yukii

You said it! Yeesh.

Catherine DeWitt

Hey Mike, hope your day’s going great!!

Heidi Pitsch

Sure men are targeted too, but killers have repeatedly targeted women who are single or while their male partner isn’t home. If I was a single mother I’d keep a glock at home.

Red Face

Errr, idk man. Men get murdered, too. Not having knives in her house could have saved her, too, but she shouldn't have to do that to NOT get murdered.

murmurzz

Thanks your videos always make my day!

Andrea Dennis

😱

Devin Michael

Innnnnteresting hypothesis!

Evonne Acevedo

Good lord, this case is messier than Christa’s house, and more ratchet than Toppy’s girlfriend. I’ve no idea what to make of it, except that Chris’s trial and conviction were definitely bullshitely handled.

Evonne Acevedo

Those white people making bad rap music is indeed pretty chilling

Jared C Bly

P.S. - Your cat is a magnificent specimen!

Paula Bernardes-Silva

Two things were most chilling in this case: the poor baby alone with her dead mother, trying to comfort her, picking a video, searching for some food... She must be 22, now... I wonder how much this affected her and if she's been capable to cope with all that horror. And the second thing, the phone with the number 9 dialed... She tried to call for help, and couldn't even dial the rest of the numbers... So terrified she must have been... But I don't believe they convicted the right guy. Just the fact of the police not recording the interrogation... and presenting only 27 pages of notes from a 6 hours long interrogation... It's soooooooooo suspicious. Anyway, thanks Mike for another great video. Have a lovely weekend. Love ya!

Paula Bernardes-Silva

🤦🏻‍♀️ I just love your sea captain alter-ego there SpongeBob 🤣

Andrea

What happened to her daughter?

Lisa Margherio

This is why being a single mother can be dangerous. Having a man her own in the house could have saved her. Also, she had too many relations imo. Lots of weird men would love to capitalize on a situation like that

Red Face

Hmmm…. Indeed a tricky one. I reckon it was the neighbor with the flashlight. He came over earlier to return the flashlight, saw/caught her sleeping with Chris, waited til he left (cause who would want to pick a fight with him?! Not a dainty children’s books author) then he came back and confronted her, ended up killing her. Then he returns again and calls 911 cause he feels guilty about the child.

Carla

Thanks Mike

Jane Pohl

This reminds me a lot of the Davontae Sanford case. It's just so wrong!!

Laura Jane

Thanks for upload Mike, Terrible that the poor baby was there throughout the whole thing .

Eileen Fothergill

Wow, another good one. Interesting. Wth.

Zebra

Omg

Zebra

wow this was a great video!! the supreme court of ma needs to reconsider this case immediately!!

Jeanne Astolfi

Thanks Mike.

Capt. Rick Allen

Been having a good day now its a Gr8 day !!!!

Travis McIntyer

Wow, what a shitshow that investigation was. I kind of think they got the wrong person there. Her poor little girl! Also, kind of interesting that this one was in Truro, home of Tony Costa. There’s an awesome book called The Babysitter that came I think a year or two ago about him. By Liza Rodman, if anyone interested. Awesome video as always!

BoredDinobot

Arrested Development references!!!

Riss Young

That was hard...

Susana M.

The captain! And mad muddling case!

Dominique Bennett -Tripp

That bit where it said her toddler had been nursing her dead body broke me 😕😢😢😢😢

Alun Rhydderch

In all honesty I think he deserves a new trial.

Bryce Tapps

I believe it was called Murder On The Cape

Tasha Duperron

This is one of my favorite episodes ever. Just really good. The more you covered , the more it sounded familiar and then I realized as someone said above there was a movie made about this. That's not why I liked your episode though - it was just darned entertaining and funny.

dougie

Was good to see you in your old El Capitan get up!!! Reminded me of the early Mike days. Thanks again!!

jennifer h

Do you know the name of the movie? I’d be interested

jennifer h

That was one seriously pissed off cat!

Lorna Mangan

Aww Charlie 😻

Abby

I remember seeing a movie they had actually made about this crazy case.

Tasha Duperron

Yay!! <3

Oslo Zeimantz

Brilliant video! Loved it, thank you. Also i wanna know what happened to her dad lol

Lucy Matthews

Ok, I had heard of this crime before, but I never heard the nursing part. Jesus fucking Christ.

Catherine DeWitt

Aye, Aye Captain!

Thalia Brown

Charlie, too!!!

Catherine DeWitt

I remember this when it happened!! I don't think the right person was convicted.

Alicia Hoverson

Luv ya back!

Kerri Docherty

The Captain is back! Heck yeah!!

Catherine DeWitt

Thanks, Mike!! I really appreciate the fact that when I'm having a shitty day, I can always count on you to make it all better. You're the best!!

Misty Major

Thank u so much!

Christina Lanham
