Those posters were all over the county. I only hitch-hiked once after that. OT was a pile of shite. The Fionas were killed by their partners. Lisa by someone she knew. Re Annie, I am intrigued re the Sandymount connection, but I think there is CCTV footage of her on the bus to Enniskerry? Of all of them I suspect Deirdre might have been LM's victim. There is credible evidence of Jo Jo being dragged to a car by men with English accents en route to Rosslare Port. As to the others (I've read one of the books you referenced), most are too early to be LM's victims. He would have been v young and as far as I can remember there is reason to believe, as fucking always, that a partner was involved in some. Maybe do Raonaid Murray some time? I believe it is well known in the community who it was. Ditto the Annabel's boys.

2024-07-08 07:24:36 +0000 UTCIt's crazy...I'm from Long Island and my grandparents came from Ireland, and my other grandparents came on Ellis Island from Italy. Parents raised in Brooklyn and Harlem and then moved out to Long Island to raise a family. I think easy 75% of the kids I grew up with were Irish/Italian and were only first or 2nd generation in America. I still have a lot of family in Ireland though.

I lived about half mile/1 kilometer away and a couple blocks away from school I noticed a pickup truck behaving strangely. I changed my route slightly, just to see if my senses were correct. They were. The truck kept going around blocks (there were some one ways so they had to drive around) and I hid behind houses and bushes. I made it home, scared the bejeezes out of my roommates coming in the back door. When I looked out onto the street the truck was there, just sitting, like they/he were waiting for me. The next morning they called my parents home multiple times, spoke vulgarly to my 10 yo sister and left a voicemail saying numerous nasty revolting things. That means they knew my identity (because they called my parents, not because of the revolting claims). I spent the week of finals driving around the back of a squad car trying to find the truck and being asked vile questions like “have you ever had a*al sex”. I was 19-20 yo. I’m 61 now and I’ll never forget it. Never found the guy but my boyfriend at the time eventually told me his suspicions.

2024-07-07 20:49:29 +0000 UTCMe too. It's scary isn't it. I've found myself in some tricky terrifying situations. Once stuck in Wembley & last train cancelled. I asked a young black guy, who has also alighted the train, if there were cabs anywhere. I was dressed like a tart straight from dancing the night away at the Watford Paradise lost club (no internet back then or mobiles). He escorted me on a long trek across back of the high street ignoring my indecent apparel, I thought 'this is it as we walked into the gloom' He led me, eventually, to a tiny cab place. I could have kissed his feet. I have never been so relieved. I still think of that night decades later & feel lucky.

I'll bet his dad left the cross there as he helped his son, be it reluctantly, hide Fiona's body carrying his grandchild & couldn't come to terms with that. Makes me sick that they couldn't charge him. They should have worked on the dad, He'd have probably broke under questioning. Possible he poisoned her & her indigestion she thought from pregnancy was more sinister.
