Questions for Ben Stark about Dominaria!
Added 2018-05-24 02:43:02 +0000 UTCHey All!
I have BenS coming on the show tonight to talk Dominaria! I have a bunch of questions lined up for him, but if you have any to add to the pile, get them in now and I'll get to as many as I can!

Hi Guys! I had a question about the allure of mill. I know mill is often a trap as a finishing strategy, but I can’t shake feeling like it’s an effective way to disrupt the opponent’s strategy. Every card in the opponent’s deck has a purpose, and if I can mill a few of those cards incidentally, isn’t that a good way to mess up their game plan? For example, we all agree that Caligo Skin-Witch is a good card. You never know which two cards will get discarded, but you know that making them lose any 2 cards is powerful, so it’s a good pick. On the other hand, Diligent Excavator has the potential to bin much more than 2 cards for a lower mana cost, but it’s considered a bad pick. They have the same body size, so the Excavator seems like a better card for disrupting the opponent. What am I not seeing here? Thanks for helping us all level up!

2018-05-24 14:12:08 +0000 UTCEpisode update: This afternoon I chatted with Ben and we agreed to do the show after the NBA game tonight. He said he'd message me right after and we'd do it. I just messaged him (the game ended like almost an hour ago). He said he forgot he was coming on and asked if it was ok if he finished his match on modo or if he should scoop. Never change Ben lol

2018-05-24 03:41:35 +0000 UTCWelp, I just erased like 5 of my questions because you all came up with better ones. You never let me down!

2018-05-24 03:39:46 +0000 UTCG'day Ben, love watching your content on CFB. My question is: if you open Icy Manipulator pick 1 pack 1, are there any cards you would take over it and, if so, which ones?

2018-05-24 03:31:16 +0000 UTCHow early do you like taking Saproling Migration now, and do you consider it primarily a 2-drop or 6-drop?

2018-05-24 03:30:42 +0000 UTCThis isn't a dom specific question but I really wanted to ask a seasoned pro this for a while. When, if ever, do you choose to forfeit and go on to the next game/round? You lose 100% of the games you FF, but sometimes I feel like it can be a good idea to forfeit so you have enough time to playout and win game 3. I've started making myself play until the final points of damage kill me since it forces me to be more considered and to avoid a rage-quit mentality which negatively affects my play in future rounds/games. What are you thoughts?

2018-05-24 03:26:23 +0000 UTCWould you rather fight one Yargle-sized Squee, or 100 Squee-sized Yargles?

2018-05-24 03:23:06 +0000 UTCBen, you've mentioned that it's better to draw first in this set if you're a control deck. If the two drops in the set were very powerful, would you consider playing instead, so that you can syncopate or cast down the two drop on time and then have mana for a three drop the next turn?

2018-05-24 03:11:51 +0000 UTCHow do you think splashing in this format compared to other formats? I am finding that the temptation to go into a third color often results in more losses because of bad mana, even in sealed.

2018-05-24 03:11:30 +0000 UTCOn your draft videos (which are great) you have gushed about how much you like this format, mostly because of its slower pace and increased complexity, which allows for more interesting decisions. Is there anything in the format you wish you could change or improve or you think is bad?

2018-05-24 03:11:02 +0000 UTCAh, well, maybe you two can find some juicy card to debate! (I only specified LSV because I enjoy that particular clash of titans and I wanted to stoke the flames.)

2018-05-24 02:59:34 +0000 UTCHey Ben, can you quick run down the top 5 draft formats in the Modern era? And why?

2018-05-24 02:58:34 +0000 UTCHey Ben - Love your draft content on CFB! In a recent video, you mentioned that any given draft pod can support 2-3 BG drafters. Which other archetypes go that deep, and which can't support multiple drafters? Thanks!

2018-05-24 02:58:22 +0000 UTCIt's just Ben and me tonight! Luis had a busy week so we let him have the time off :)

2018-05-24 02:56:12 +0000 UTCHey Ben, thanks for joining our hosts! Is the GB slimefoot deck you posted to channel fireball the best version of it or would you make changes (either picks you made or cards you would rather have seen) Thanks again!
John Pickens-Green
2018-05-24 02:55:58 +0000 UTCIf you happen to unfortunately get stuck drafting green/blue, what cards do you think make it viable other than Tatyova? Do you think that a G/U drafter might have to prioritize fixing in the form of Grow From the Ashes and Skittering Surveyor more highly to accommodate colors with good removal? Or can the color pair stand on it’s own? Marshall, see you this weekend at the GP with a German box for you.

2018-05-24 02:50:36 +0000 UTCHey Ben, wanted to say you make the best draft videos out there (sorry Marshall and Luis), but they are few and far between. Any chance of you making weekly limited content for CFB?

2018-05-24 02:49:47 +0000 UTCHi Ben, I don't have a particular question. I just want to hear you and LSV have a heated argument about any specific card in Dominaria. Anything fit the bill?
Matt Schneeweiss
2018-05-24 02:47:20 +0000 UTCHi Ben, What would you say the most underrated card is in the set and why? Thanks
