Great episode, I wanted to share a short story on the point of side events and first round opponents being less competitive generally. I'm an FNM level player but my buddy lives in Vegas and invited me to hang out with him and do some side events with him at GP vegas a few months ago. One of the events we signed up for was the beta qualifier, first round was posted and I find my table. My opponent was already sitting, sticks out his hand and introduces himself as Huey....My jaw dropped and I said ...Jensen? Huey Jensen? It was. He crushed me but was super gracious despite the obvious chasm in our playing level. I asked him to sign a card to commemorate the time I got destroyed by the world champ.

I found it very interesting watching the Reid Duke coverage this weekend after listening to this episode. Specifically 1) he and his opponents seemed to be pile shuffling before most games and 2) after most in-game shuffles, the other player would just cut the deck instead of randomizing. Do these differences from what you and TBS recommend stem from it being a Legacy Constructed tournament? I can imagine both players having to fully shuffle after each fetch land would swiftly become impractical.

This was great! Listening to TBS is always fun, and I wouldn’t mind if once a month Luis can take a break and we could have a rotation of Ben Stark, TBS, Woody, and someone else, maybe Siggy or Paulo. I’m a hardcore Owen fan, but I understand he may have contractual obligations that could prevent him from being on the podcast these days. Appreciate the awesome content, Marshall!

Some of the things I enjoyed about this episode: - LSV is absolute gas but it is nice to have guests like Ben S and other Ben S. I love how Marshall explained his understanding of life balance and arrangement with Luis. (not that he owed us an explanation) - All of the strategies discussed are spot on. That being said I have heard most of this on LR before having listened to every episode at least once. And I loved hearing it again. I cannot get enough LR. - Super excited for the Marshall and Reid show at the GP this weekend. Loved the comparison to Poker After Dark. Hype!!
