Welcome to Crubber Games Fest. I've always dreamed of being able to write this newsletter...and...sniff...it's just, such an honor to finally be able to bring this content to you. For our first announcement, there will likely be Odd Scheduling this week. Yesterday we released a Crubcast deepdive on the Japanese gaming industry, but tomorrow we'll be livestreaming an episode breaking down Summer Games Fest. To keep it as timely as we can, we'll almost certainly be releasing the video version on Wednesday instead of our usual Friday slot. Frankly, I'm undecided on if that will come out on podcast platforms at the same time forgoing our Monday slot next week. Let us know if that would bother you or be acceptable to you! We listen.
That said, there's a chance we just show up tomorrow and talk about the most emotional moments in games that made our eyes piss instead, so who knows. Maybe we won't even talk about Geoff's wild ride.

Over on our premium feeds, Podcastémon has finally made it to the start of the Johto episodes. We're 24 episodes into our show, and 121 episodes into the main anime series. I'll also take this moment to announce an announcement. Me, Kevin, and Justin may have decided to take on some more work and expand Podcastémon some. We'll leave that announcement on the horizon for now.
Announced last week but shared here in case you missed it, CRANKIN OUR HOGS!
You may remember the Playdate handheld console, the little yellow device with a crank. It's currently releasing its second Season of games, two each week. Kevin and Nicco decided to get together each Wednesday to show them off. It's a neat device that doesn't get a lot of spotlight, so if you just want to see something unique come check these out! We'll be posting them for the public each week here on Patreon, so even if you aren't a Crubscriber you can still "Join" for free and get these. You should throw us a few bucks, though, we're hungry.

Someday one of the guys will probably pull me aside and tell me to stop leaking things in these, but so far, I've gotten away with it. So I'm going to keep doing it. Here's our next month of premium content if you DO throw us a few bucks. $5 gets you access to 6+ hours of video here alone, 4 of those being very in-depth Spyro 2 discussion. It's also necessary viewing for what Brody did to me after...which was another 4 hours of actual hell. That will come later. I hate Jak II.
$10 gets you access to our premium audio feed featuring a couple dozen episodes of hit podcast series Podcastémon as well as plenty of spoilercasts. Yes, we're selling you hard this week, but we put the time in and seriously. Justin is starving. He's already a thin boy, let him buy a sandwich.
TOO MANY GAMES!!!
...still won't give us a panel, despite our happy faces advertising their website. We'll be in the area smiling even wider if you come by to see us. You may even see us around the con over the weekend, but we will be organizing a formal "come say hey" on one of the days. Likely at the entrance to the convention like last time. We'll organize it with you in our Discord and post it on our Bluesky account, so join up and hit follow to keep up with things! We want to meet you and thank you for enjoying what we do. I (Chris) and Brody likely won't be there, but the rest of Crub is slated to attend.
As for the Crub Cinematic Universe, Kevin has released a few videos that you will enjoy. One on the first Ape Escape game talking about how cool it is, and how it was like lightning in a bottle that can't be replicated. Another reviewing Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, an awesome GBA Zelda-y / Metroidvania-y game that more people should know about. And finally, he tested all kinds of gaming cameras to see what can work with the newly released Switch 2. Watch it to watch him suffer for his art. As for me, I've spun up Off The Radar. It's a short-form article and podcast series showcasing games I've enjoyed that no one in my circles are talking about. The article versions will have audio narration by me as well as GIFs from my time with the game to help illustrate what makes them neat. I've given some time to Pipistrello, as well as Keita Takashi's to a T. You can subscribe to my Beehiiv to get a roundup post of them at the end of each month delivered to your e-mail inbox. You can also find it on podcast services if you'd just prefer to listen. If you feel like you're always playing the same kinds of games, follow along!
Okay, that's all from us for now. Bye bye, go enjoy all of this stuff that we have provided for you, thank you. Bye bye! Go away!!!
