Crub Weekly Newsletter - Feb. 24th 2025

It's a light week in the crubberverse (patent pending) to close out February, but we still have some updates for you.

Boolatro Episode 1 released today for early podcast/video tier Patrons. The premise is simple, Nicco plays Balatro while pulling cards from https://itskindofafunstory.com/ to get us to open up about various life topics. This first episode features the famous Jtart9. This is not a tie-in with the Friends of Jimbo 4 pack that released today, but we're going to tell ourselves it is.

 In anticipation of Pokémon Day later this week, this Friday's Crubcast will have Kevin quizzing Justin, Sean, and Chris about the names of Pokémon in the series. Specifically, about their names in other languages. Did you know that Snorlax is called Relaxo in Germany? Yeah, that's pretty sick. This episode will be recorded offline, so it'll be new to everyone when it is uploaded first to the Patreon. Expect the worst.

Aw geez, y-you're really gonna talk about this in Book Crub? The one in the Discord? Belch? High On Life for PlayStation Game Pass? I-i-i dunno about this one, belch.

I think that's how Roiland characters spoke. Yes, reminder that if you want to take place in this month's Book Crub, to get some time in playing High On Life! Heck, even if you don't want to play it but want to hear what others think, you can still join in and listen. We'll be getting a day on this soon, so there's still some time.

Finally, next week the final (for now) episode of our Makoto Shinkai rewatch audio series releases. When Chris and Justin first started recording these, they were curious to see how 'Your Name' would hold up after experiencing most of Shinkai's other work. In the time since, Justin has been to the famous staircase from the movie, and Chris went to the kitchen a few times. Rewatch the movie so you're ready for their ultimate thoughts!
