Alpha Adrian part 27

She sat on his lap with her back straight for so long that it began to ache. As if reading her mind, Adrian sat up to press his chest to her back and support her weight. They were now so close that his breath tickled her hair.

It took some time before he put the pen down and stood. Eva turned to face him. His eyes were still hazy, but his smile was sure.

“Are you hungry?” he asked.

Yes. Hungry for both food and a taste of this man.

She dipped her chin. And the next thing she knew, they were working around each other in the kitchen to make breakfast. They were silent for most of the time, but it gave her plenty of time to think. The Stockholm Syndrome must be kicking in hard because she found she was at peace.

The only stress she had was having to arch her back to put emphasis on her barely there curves. She wanted to look good in case the male behind her eyed her over.

She glanced at him. He hovered over the stove, frying bacon, and it was then that she noticed grease was popping all over his arms.

“Adrian!”

She reached for his forearm to pull him away, and a blotch of grease exploded right then.

She shrieked when the burning liquid sparked on her skin, and her brain rattled in her skull when was yanked away. Her feet dangled in the air as Adrian crushed her between his body and the sink to hold her hand under cold water.

Eva let out a shaky breath. “I’m ok. It just caught me by surprise,” she laughed and tugged her hand. “You can let go.”

He didn’t listen. He kept her hand where it was and glared. “What were you thinking? You could have easily tipped the pot over and burned your whole arm.”

“I was only trying to pull you away. You were letting the grease pop on you.”

Adrian’s angry glare moved to his own arms. “Eva, I don’t feel pain like you do.”

“But it was hot!”

“I know, baby, but I’m built differently. A little grease only tickles me. Even if I burned, I would heal at drastic rates. It is not the same story with you. You need to be more careful.”

She hesitated.

“I promise you I can take care of myself.” His lips fell on her forehead. “So don’t worry if I’m working late in the morning, or get too close to fire.”

It was odd, knowing that this man was practically invincible. It was odd knowing that she was embracing the madness.

They stared into eachother’s eyes and their fingers intertwined as the cool water cascaded on them. When she caught herself staring at his lips, she blinked once, twice, and came to her senses.

“Right. Sorry. I’m okay too. Can you set me down?”

When she was back on her feet, she turned to shut the water off and was painfully aware of how close their pelvises were.

She wiped her hand dry.

“So anyway… when will we go down to the city?”

“Tonight.” Adrian cleared his throat and moved back to the stove.

The silence returned after that, and Eva shoved slightly burned bacon into her mouth. She could only hope that the taste distracted her from the sweet throb in her chest.

It didn’t.

She dressed in snug jeans and a t-shirt that evening. Adrian was on the phone for most of the day, organizing for departure.

When he finally led her outside, he shut the front door but didn’t bother to lock it.

Eva stood by the doorframe and reminded him, “You didn’t lock the door.”

“My office is locked. It’s fine. There’s not much of importance in there.”

She knew that wasn’t true, though. She caught a glimpse of his ridiculously expensive watches when she snuck into his room.

“But your things…”

A thick arm snared around her waist and pulled her to a sturdy chest. Adrian hugged her tight as he carried her to his car.

“You’re the single most important part of my life, Eva. I would burn that house down if you asked me to. There is only you.”

After taking her breath with his hold and his words, he sat her in the passenger seat of his sports car and buckled her in. All she could do was focus on breathing to avoid a heart attack.

“Are you alright?” he asked as he began pulling out. “Are you hot?”

“Mhm,” she choked.

He turned on the AC and rejected an incoming phone call.

“We’ll be there soon.”

She leaned back and looked out the window. Another call came through, and Adrian picked it up. For the next hour, he droned on and on about business.

At one point, his hand touched a button on the dashboard and instead of returning to his side, it absentmindedly covered her thigh. She was wearing jeans so there was no skin-to-skin touch, but the contact still sent her into another possible breakdown.

Adrian kept talking, not realizing that his enormous hand was swallowing her thigh.

She began trembling— not of fear or disgust, but because her nerves were pulsing with lust.

Adrian must have noticed, because he glanced at her.

“Just a verbal approval of yours will be enough to proceed with the investment. Do you accept?”

Adrian ignored the question and focused on her. “Are you cold?”

She shook her head.

“What?” the man on the line asked. “Sorry, sir. Perhaps there was some confusion. I need your verbal approval. That’s all.”

Adrian turned off the air conditioning. “Is that better?”

She nodded, although she really hadn’t been cold.

“Sir?”

Adrian hung up the call.

“Did you want me to lower the windows instead?”

Oh moons, his hand felt so heavy on her.

He frowned. “Eva? Are you upset with me?”

“Huh? No!”

“Are you sure?.”

“I’m just thinking. Sorry.”

He scanned her, and his hand finally lifted to re-dial the dropped call.

She looked at her thigh, and then at the hand gripping the wheel. She had never noticed how large his hands were.

How large would his dick…

Oh, no.

Her head was going to places it had no business being in. Too many PornHub videos were flashing through her mind, all because of that damn touch of her thigh, his careful gestures in the kitchen that morning, his words, and the mystery of what was in his pants.

Just when she became aware of the warmth in her belly, the car swerved violently and came to a sharp stop. Adrian looked at her, then at her belly with nostrils flared and eyes on fire.

“Stay here,” he growled.

His seatbelt snapped once he ripped it off, and the window shattered from how hard he slammed the door.

A mortified Eva only watched him from the rearview mirror as he ran away from the car, going down the road.

He didn’t… he couldn’t… did he smell her?!

“Sir? Mr. Miller?” the caller ranted.

Eva crossed her arms over her chest and squeezed her legs shut.

Damn, damn, damn. This was so mortifying she could dip into a frying pan and die.

Frantically, she looked for some sort of air freshener. Was she supposed to wipe the slick between her legs? Should she ditch her panties?

Hopeless, she covered her face with her hands.
