The First Flame part 19

They talked for a while longer, with Ran repeatedly asking if he had enough food and water.

“It is that time again.”

She frowned, because he was right. “Maybe I can risk staying a bit longer?” she suggested. She greedily wanted to spend more time with him.

“No. Kiss me and go home.”

“But–”

He tugged her arm, and then his mouth was on hers. He tasted minty, and his chest cool under her palms.

“Be careful,” he warned against her lips.

“Careful of what? The outside, or you?” she panted.

Eon made a guttural sound and slipped his hands down to her butt. With a squeeze, he answered, “both.”

“We have time for some…”

“No,” he grunted. “No time for messing around. You need to get home.”

She pouted and considered rebelling.

“Mothers, Ran. Listen to me just this once.”

“Will I be rewarded if I do?” she grinned. “Next time?”

His muscles contorted. His instinct was begging him to fuck Ran into submission. He wanted the challenge, and since Ran was on her knees, eagerly gripping the bars of the cell, he knew that she wanted it too.

“Next time,” he promised.

Ran saw him fist his hands to cage his desire. Both of them were burning too hot. The second Eon was free from those bars, they were going to fuck like rabid animals.

“I’ll be back,” she told him, and then picked up her things to leave. The darkness had thickened, and she hurt her ankle as she fought one of the jungle’s horrors. She shrugged the pain off on her way home and was careful to not be seen as she snuck back into her room.

“Terra, help me,” she whispered.

A feminine hand grabbed her wrist but it was definitely not Terra’s. She looked up and gulped, because Kira was standing in her room with her guilty sisters standing behind her.

“Welcome home, Ran.”

She groaned and slid inside. “Hi mom.”

“Do you want to do this the easy way, or the hard way?”

Ran looked at her sisters, who looked tired. Kira must have given them an earful, but they didn’t spill the beans.

She supposed they got lucky because it was Kira that found them and not Vrox. Their mother was much more reasonable.

“I’m waiting,” Kira said.

Ran groaned. Kira was the smallest woman in the room– harmless, but she had authority as their mother and queen.

“I’m sorry, okay?” Ran put her bloody blade against the wall.

Kira looked at it with displeasure. “If Vrox saw that thing… if he knew you snuck out in the night, he wouldn’t let you hold a sword ever again.”

“I’ve noticed he’s crazy already,” Ran sat on the bed beside Terra.

“Not as crazy as I’ll get if you girls don’t start talking. I taught you all to not keep secrets from me. When did you lose trust in me?” her eyes watered, and Ran felt like she got punched in the gut.

“When did I become a bad mother?”

Apollo hugged her from behind to support her.

“This has nothing to do with you,” Ran tried to assure. “It’s just… dad. I’m trying to escape his tight hold.”

“And you think I’m on his side? I haven’t spoken to him since I found out what he did to that poor boy.”

Ran sighed. “Okay. I’ll tell you. Sit down.”

Apollo and Eve sat on the floor, and Terra moved off the bed to give Kira her place. Not wanting her pregnant sister on the floor, Ran grabbed her hand.

Kira sat snugly between the twins and waited.

“So dad isn’t an asshole after all. He didn’t leave Eon on Earth.”

“What?” Kira frowned. “But…”

“I know. I was surprised too, but I found him when I went to scout the spaceship. He’s locked up in there, and dad is planning on transporting him to an island.”

“You snuck out to see him?” Kira asked.

Ran nodded.

“You really like this kid, don’t you?”

“We survived Tulis together, and he’s the bravest, most loyal and wholesome guy I’ve ever met. Of course I like him.””

“Can’t you help her, mom? Apollo asked. Can’t you talk to dad?”

Kira looked at her kids. “Of course I can.”

“Would that be the best thing, though?” Terra asked. “Will it be okay for dad to give in just because he wants to please mom? Will he learn anything that way? Will he accept that his girls became women, and he has to loosen his hold?”

Ran thought over the questions. They made sense. She didn’t want Vrox to release Eon because he was forced to, but because he was willing.

“I’ll convince him,” Ran decided. “But mom, I need your help. I need you to find out when dad plans on moving Eon. Can you do that?”

Kira rolled her eyes. “Of course I can. Vrox is only a man. “I’ll visit him tonight and have the date by tomorrow morning,” she promised.

The thought of their parents having sexy-time made them cringe.

“Thanks mom.”

“You’re welcome, knucklehead. Stop sneaking out.” She kissed all the girls and left. The second the door closed, all eyes turned to Terra.

“When are you telling her about the…”

Terra crossed her arms over her stomach. “Not yet, but soon.”

“She’ll be happy,” Ran told her. “She loves you as much as we do.”

“I know. I just want to straighten my shit out first,” Terra sighed. “So what’s your plan? How are you going to change dad’s mind?”

“Talking to him,” Ran shrugged. “That’s really my only option.”

“But if he knows that you located Eon, he’s going to get rid of him sooner.”

“I know. I’ll have to be careful with what I say. Hopefully mom’s…. charms, are enough to stall him from a while as I try to get through to him.”

“Fates, why are Ezronian men so hard-headed?”

“I know right,” Ran said.

Her sisters stared.

“What?”

“You’re the most hard-headed out of all of us, so you shouldn’t be talking.”

She grinned. “Whoops.”

The next morning, she cleaned her blade and went in search of Vrox. He was in a great mood– probably because Kira slept with him.

When he swept in to kiss her cheek, she cringed. Only the fates knew where his mouth had been last night.

“Hello Ran.”

“Hi. I was wondering if you wanted to spar?”

He laughed. “Spar? It has been so long.”

“What? Are you afraid I’ll embarrass you?”

He grinned and removed his cape. With his sword in-hand, he took stance and waited for her to make the first move. Vrox was much larger than her, so his brute strength was her weakness. She used her speed to dance around him until they were both panting and laughing.

They sat on the dirt, their swords gleaming under the sun.

“I want to tell you about what happened in Tulis.”

Vrox raised an eyebrow. “I already know.”

“No. The Federation or Tulis leaders might have given you a summary, but I want you to hear my version.”

Vrox didn’t reply, so she began to talk– about the crash, dessert, fatigue, the irritation she felt for Eon, and the anger for Siox.

She told him about their adventures up until the tournaments. Vrox didn’t seem to like the words she was using. She praised Eon. Painted him as a hero.

When Vrox heard enough, he excused himself and left in a rush. She was upset to see him go, but glad that she stirred some unease in him. Soon, he would change his mind.

She took a bath and tracked down Neil, reminding him that they had another “date” the following day. Then, she went to her bedroom and tore through her underwear. She cut strip after slip off until her undies and chest bindings were barely there.

When she saw Eon again, she would make sure they made good use of their time. After all, he had a promise to fulfill.

I think this story will end around chapter 30 after some hot sex, family makeups, and happily ever afters.
