He should do this before the event and his mother changes her mind, seeing that her son is in love, and in turn has everyone kiss Kenna’s feet instead!

I think Kaden's mom will be OK with giving it to Kenna if she holds her ground coz she'll see that her son has someone fighting for him and not using him for Luna position and crying and playing victim. I'm assuming Kaden's mom knows his history and somehow knew that Sylvie was initially chosen without any real future in mind.
