Dangerous Games: Chapter 13

The next morning Ethan went to go see his mother like usual, his body was aching from both the terrible motel bed he had slept on and the strain from pushing his ability to its limit. To avoid being tracked by Sera, Ethan and Joe had spent the night at a busy motel on the west side of town. They had gone there after leaving Diane with the file so that she could study it and hopefully figure out a cure not just for his mother, but for everyone. Walking into his mothers’ room, Ethan finds Diane already there chatting away with his mother. She looked calm, relaxed, and well rested; nothing like him.

“Helen, I’m telling you, you will love it.” Diane proclaims brightly.

“I’ll just have to take your word for it.” Ethan’s mother replies before looking over at Ethan. “Oh my god Ethan, you look horrible, are you okay?”

I’m fine.” Ethan answers as he rolls his neck. “I just had a rough night.”

“Did something happen?” She asks.

“Nothing you need to worry about.” Ethan answers.

Helen worriedly eyes her son but accepts his words, she then tries to get up but can’t seem to find the strength.

“Mom!” Ethan shouts as he rushes to her side.

“It’s nothing, I’m fine.” Helen states ignoring her son’s panicked expression. “Diane, can you help me to the bathroom please?”

“Of course.”

Ethan clenches his fists as he watches Diane help his mother to the bathroom, angry at her worsening condition and his inability to help her. After helping his mother, Diane exits the bathroom to give her some privacy.

“Diane, please tell me you’ve made progress.” Ethan whispers.

“I was only able to skim through the file last night, but I do have a rough idea of what this illness might be and a possible cure.” Diane whispers back.

“Then what the hell are you waiting for, cure her!” Ethan angrily whispers.

“Ethan calm down, nothing good will come from rushing this, I have to make sure or else I could end up making things worse.” Diane calmly whispers back.

Ethan takes a deep breath; he knew Diane was right.

“Or are you still doubting me after what Joe said?” Diane whispers.

Last night when Ethan was handing Diane the file, Joe stopped him and brought up the possibility that Diane could be playing them and that she might be working for the apostate. Diane in turn said she understood Joe’s concern and suspicion but stated that should he ever imply such an insulting thing ever again; she would castrate him. Ethan knew she had been serious too because just like when Sera got upset, Diane’s irises glowed for a few seconds before going back to normal.

“No, I’m sorry. It’s just seeing my mom like that hit me pretty hard.” Ethan answers.

Diane gives Ethan a sympathetic look and puts her hand on his shoulder, “I understand, and I promise you, I’ll do everything I can to cure your mom as quick as possible.”

Without warning the door to the room is flung open revealing a seething Sera on the other side, she was still in the same clothes Ethan saw her in last night. It was the same outfit he saw her in when they were at the warehouse, minus the gloves and utility belt. Sera eyes them both before her eyes lock on to the hand Ethan’s shoulder. This clearly angered her further, as evident by the blackening of her eyes and the glowing of her irises. Diane slowly lowers her hand from Ethan’s shoulder, with Ethan moving to stand between Sera and Diane. But this seemed to only upset Sera even more, making her scowl and the tension surrounding them almost palpable. Seeing Sera like this once again reminded Ethan of the height difference between them and how easily she could overpower him. The sudden sound of the toilet flushing causes the three of them to look toward the bathroom, breaking the tension. Sera’s eyes go back to normal and soon after the bathroom door opens with Ethan’s mother coming out.

Upon seeing Sera, Ethan’s mother smiles, “Dr. Umbra, I didn’t know you would be stopping by today.”

Before Sera could say anything, Ethan jumps in, “I called her, I wanted to talk to her about your treatment.”

“Treatment? But we haven’t even decided any of that yet.” Ethan’s mother states in confusion.

Diane walks over to Ethan’s mother, “Come now Helen, can’t you see what this is really about?”

Diane then gives Ethan’s mother a meaningful look.

“Oh? OH!” Ethan’s mother exclaims as she realizes what Diane is implying.

“Now I believe the room next door is currently empty so while you guys talk in there I’ll stay here and keep Helen company.” Diane hurriedly suggests.

“Perfect we’ll be right back.” Ethan nods.

Sera eyes Ethan carefully; deciding to play along she calmly leads him to the empty room next door just like Diane suggested. But as soon as Ethan closes the door behind him Sera grabs him and tosses them both on top of the empty bed, pinning him down with her body and holding his hands beside his head.

“Where’s the file?” Sera demands.

Ethan didn’t answer, not because he didn’t want to, but because he was distracted by the suggestive position Sera had put them in. She was straddling him, and her face was hovering only a few inches away from his own.

“Where is it?” Sera demands again.

“What file?” Ethan coyly asks.

“You’re playing a dangerous game beloved, we both know it was you, and I know it was Diane that helped you.” Sera growls through her teeth, showing her fangs.

“I will not have you risking my mother’s life.” Ethan replies coldly.

Sera seems taken aback by Ethan’s words, which surprises him.

“I would have never let anything happen to your mother.” Sera declares with sincerity.

Looking into Sera’s eyes, Ethan could see that her sincerity was genuine, and realizes a truth he had didn’t want to admit. A surge of emotion fills Ethan’s chest, but he pushes it down, he couldn’t risk his burgeoning feelings for Sera sway him.

“Ethan, give me the file, there’s more to that file than just research on your mother’s illness.”

“No.”

Sera’s eyes begin to glow ever so slightly, she leans in close, “I don’t think you realize the position you’re in.”

Ethan’s mouth went dry, Sera’s double meaning was not lost on him, sending a deliciously sensual chill down his spine in response.

“You’re forgetting, I still have the necklace you want.” Ethan reminds Sera, not shying away her lustful gaze.

Sera’s eyes harden.

“And don’t bother threatening my friends, we both know you won’t kill them.”

Ethan preemptively calls her bluff because he knew the truth now, a truth Sera herself had admitted when she spared DeMarco and avoided hurting Erik.

“Oh, what makes you so sure?” Sera questions, getting right in Ethan’s face.

“Because you care about me too much.”

Ethan lifts his head and quickly captures Sera’s mouth with his own, the surprise on Sera’s face lasted only a second, as she began kissing him back with a fervor that shook them both. Ethan lost all thought as Sera began to take charge of the kiss, he could feel her tongue prodding at his lips asking to be let in, and he obliges. Ethan watches as white of Sera’s eyes go black, surrounding her violet irises. But there was no anger in them, only need, a need he knew matched his own.

Ethan then struggles to free his hands from Sera’s grip, he needed to touch her to feel her body, but her grip only tightened as she raised his hands over his head. Reveling in her power over him; Sera kisses and nips at Ethan’s neck as he continues to struggle. She then proceeds to run her tongue along Ethan’s jaw causing him to let out a low moan. Finally having pity on him; Sera releases Ethan’s hands allowing him to finally touch her. Ethan wastes no time; his hands begin exploring Sera’s body as he recaptures her mouth with his own. With some leverage he’s finally able to lift himself up to a seated position with Sera still straddling him, all while never breaking their kiss.

The door to the room opens startling Ethan and Sera, breaking their kiss, reminding them of where they were and their conflicting agendas. Diane walks in; her eyes going wide at the sight of Sera still straddling Ethan.

Diane turns her head away, her cheeks now red, “Sorry, I told Helen I was going to get some food from the cafeteria and thought I should check in and make sure you were okay. I’m sorry, I’ll leave.”

Regaining his composure Ethan calls out to Diane, “Wait!”

Ethan slowly extricates himself from under Sera and moves to stand by the door with Diane, with Sera frowning as he does.

“The point is I have something you want.” Ethan states.

Sera’s eyes dart to Ethan’s groin, causing Diane to look away with red cheeks once again.

“The necklace! I’m referring to the necklace.” Ethan quickly clarifies. “Look either work with us or stay out of the way, either way you don’t hold all the cards anymore.”

“Really, and what’s to stop me from just taking you right here right now back to my place and making you do what I want?” Sera asks as she slowly stands up.

Once again, a shiver runs down Ethan’s spine at her dark and sensual tone.

“I am.” Diane boldly states.

“You? You and I both know you can’t beat me.” Sera coldly smiles.

“True, not in a straight fight, but there’s a reason I suggested this room.” Diane smiles back.

Sera looks around as circular symbols start appearing on the walls around the room. Sera reaches out and tries touching one of the symbols, but a small spark shoots out and zaps Sera’s finger just before she can touch it.

“Hmph, clever.” Sera admits.

“Think about it.” Ethan tells Sera.

As Ethan and Diane move to leave the room Ethan stops, a question he’d had for a while now bubbling up.

“One thing before I go, why were you avoiding Diane the night of Eckhart’s party?”

Sera looks over at Diane with a chagrin expression, “You didn’t tell him?”

Ethan looks between Sera and Diane, “Tell me what?”

“You made it abundantly clear last time that I was not to refer to you in that way.” Diane tells Sera, ignoring Ethan’s question.

Ethan looks over at Sera who now has a cold expression etched on her face.

“Well beloved, the truth is Diane here is my mother.”

Ethan’s eyes widen in shock as he looks over at Diane.

“Am I?” Diane questions. “Last we spoke you screamed that I wasn’t your real mother and to stop acting as such.”

“You aren’t.” Sera coldly replies.

“Well, which is it, am I your mother or not? Because you can’t have it both ways!” Diane shoots back.

Sera scowls.

The silence between Sera and Diane filled the room, leaving Ethan uncomfortably in the middle. He had not expected this, the whole situation had veered in an awkward direction, and he was to blame.

‘Why couldn’t you keep your big mouth shut?’ Ethan thinks to himself.

Having had enough Diane slowly shakes her head and throws her hands in the air in defeat before turning away. Diane opens the door and walks out; Ethan follows but looks back to Sera one more time. Ethan watches as a look of frustration and regret passes through Sera’s eyes, she clearly wanted to say something but instead turns away. Ethan wanted to go to her and comfort her, but she clearly wanted to be left alone. Walking out the door; Ethan quickly follows after Diane and reaches her as she wipes away the beginning of tears.

“Sera is your adopted daughter?” Ethan softly asks.

Diane wipes her eyes again before answering, “Yes, her birth mother died sometime after childbirth.”

“What about her father?”

Diane stayed silent for a moment, “Her father…he was not a good man. He was a researcher of sorts, and he hid Sera’s existence for his own personal gain. He…I shouldn’t say anymore, it’s not for me to tell. Just know that Sera was twelve when we took her in, and by then she was already angry.”

“Angry at what?”

Diane lets out a short chuckle and sigh, “Everything.”

Ethan and Diane walk into the hospital cafeteria and sit themselves down at one of the tables away from people.

Seeing Diane still clearly upset; Ethan decides to change the topic. “What where those symbols in the room back there?”

Diane was surprised by the sudden change in conversation, but happily accepted it, “Oh, umm, what is the easiest way for me to explain it.” Diane muses to herself. “Don’t think of them as symbols think of them as circuits like a computer.”

“You mean a circuit board, like the ones you program?” Ethan corrects.

“Yes, exactly!”

“Okay, and what where they programed to do?” Ethan questions.

“It was a containment spell of sorts; it would have held Sera long enough for us to get away, at least hoped.” Diane admits.

“You hoped? You mean it might not have held her?” Ethan asks incredulously.

“Probably not, she is just too powerful.”

“Jesus.” Ethan sighs, sitting back in his chair, now realizing how much of a close call he just had.

“I better get back to Helen, she’s probably wondering where I am with the food.”

“Oh, geez mom!”

Ethan gets up from his chair but then hesitates, wondering if Sera was still nearby.

“It should be fine; I doubt she would have left us alone if she was still here.” Diane states.

Figuring Diane was right, Ethan nods in agreement and heads back to his mother’s room while Diane gets the food she had promised to get. Upon entering the room, his mother wasted no time bombarding him with questions about Sera. But figuring the less she knew the better, Ethan kept his answers vague and side-stepped others all together. Once Diane returned with the food, Ethan kissed his mother on the head and made his escape, much to his mother’s annoyance.

Once outside he goes over what happened with Sera in his head, now that she knew she didn’t have the upper hand anymore, going home was probably not the best idea. It was the first place she would check for the necklace if she wasn’t already there looking for it. But Ethan had expected this, so he had stashed the necklace someplace safe for the time being. The smart play would be to wait her out until she contacted him or Diane to make a deal. Ethan leans against the side of the hospital and lets out a deep sigh.

“Idiot.” He mumbles to himself.

Pushing himself off the wall, Ethan heads home.

Once there, Ethan went about as if it was a normal day, he didn’t check the apartment for Sera, he didn’t check or lock any of his windows, he didn’t even bother checking in Joe. He calmly went into the kitchen and went about making himself some lunch. After that he changed into a pair of shorts and a muscle shirt and began to work out. His body was still a bit sore from last night, an after effect of pushing his ability to its limit, so Ethan just did some stretches and simple calisthenics. Midway through a set of sit-ups Ethan felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, he was being watched and he knew who by, but he ignores it and continues his workout. After two hours Ethan finishes up and having not broken much of a sweat decides to forego the shower, instead taking out his laptop and paying the bills that were due. Once he was finished with that, he decides to go to the grocery store to buy what he was going to cook for dinner. The entire trip to the store and back Ethan felt her eyes watching him, but still he did nothing and continued to ignore it. Once back home Ethan finally showers and puts on a pair of gray sweatpants and a white tee, he then goes about making dinner. He kept it simple with a premade pasta that just needed water and two pieces of salmon which he cooked and seasoned himself. He made to plates and set them both on the table, after a few minutes of waiting Ethan says a quick prayer and eats one of the plates. Once done he sits on the couch and begins watching television, leaving the other plate on the table.

Hours go by and it was getting dark; turning off the tv Ethan goes over to the table and grabs the leftover plate, taking it to the kitchen and wrapping it in tin foil before putting it in the fridge. He then proceeds to wash all the dishes, drying them by hand before putting them all away again. Making his way to the bathroom; Ethan washes his mouth and face again before going to his room. Walking into his room; he isn’t surprised when he sees Sera standing there at the other end of the room still wearing the same black clothes from before watching him with a look of suspicion.

“’What are you doing?” Sera asks.

“Getting ready for bed.” Ethan replies nonchalantly.

“I know you noticed me watching.” Sera states.

“Why do you think I made two dinner plates.” Ethan replies.

“Again, what are you doing?” Sera asks again.

Ethan faces Sera and answers honestly, “Nothing.”

“What no plans to run or traps to hold me?” Sera asks, as she steps closer to Ethan.

Ethan doesn’t move or flinch as Sera approaches him, “Nope.”

“So, I could take you right now, make you give me the necklace and force Diane to hand over the file?” Sera questions as she come to stand in front of Ethan.

“Probably.” Ethan answers honestly.

“Why?”

Ethan looks up at Sera’s face, the height difference between them apparent once again, “It looked like you needed me.”

Ethan watched as a look of understanding and gratefulness washes over Sera, she quickly leans forward and captures Ethan’s mouth with her own. Her arms wrap round Ethan pulling him closer, while his instinctively wrap around her neck. Once again, the feel of her mouth against his was intoxicating.

‘How can a kiss feel this good?’ Ethan thought to himself.

Breaking the kiss Ethan whispers into Sera’s ear, “I want to taste you.”

Ethan pulls back to see Sera’s face; her lips were slightly parted and her eyes which had already been glowing grew brighter as the white of her eyes went black. Sera quickly kicks off her shows and begins fumbling with her belt.

Ethan places his hand on top of hers to stop her, “Let me.”

Sera complies letting her hand fall to her sides, Ethan gets on his knees and calmly removes her belt and unbuttons her pants, revealing a pair of black lacey underwear underneath. Ethan pulls her pants down to her feet, gently lifting each leg to completely remove them. Sera quickly pulls her shirt over her head exposing a matching black lacey bra. Unable to help himself Ethan kisses Sera’s core through her underwear, eliciting a low moan from Sera. Ethan then pulls down her underwear revealing a small perfectly trimmed strip of hair that Ethan couldn’t help but find sexy. So many women now a days are completely bare, seeing this refreshing change of pace had Ethan’s mouth watering more than it already was. Taking her already wet core into his mouth, Ethan slowly began sucking, licking, and kissing every inch of her.

Sera gasps as Ethan’s mouth slowly brings her to ecstasy, her hands reach down to Ethan’s head kneading her fingers through his hair massaging and pulling on it. Unconsciously, Sera’s hips begin to move against Ethan’s mouth, she lifts her left leg and lays it over Ethan’s shoulder to give him better access to her core. Ethan was glad for it, Sera was indescribably delicious, he was lost in her taste, she was like a drug, and he was addicted.

Sera pulls Ethan’s head back to look at him, the sight of him breathless with his mouth covered in her juices filled her with ecstasy and a feral need to take him.

“Get on the bed, now.” Sera commands.

Ethan complies, sitting down on the bed Ethan takes of his shirt but before he could go for his pants Sera stops him.

“My turn, lay back.” Sera purrs.

Ethan does as he’s told, and Sera quickly finishes disrobing him, his engorged member was already throbbing with need and Sera was all too happy to give it attention. She peppers it with small kisses before taking it into her mouth, causing Ethan to let out a hiss. As Sera slowly strokes and sucks on the tip of him, Ethan fights to control his labored breathing.

“Look at me.” Sera commands in a sexual tone.

Ethan looks down and locks eyes with Sera as she continues to go down on him, the white of her eyes were still black and her violet irises glowed with sexual need. Ethan tried telling Sera he needed her, but her continuing sexual assault robbed him off his voice except for moan of pleasure that escaped his lips. Ethan then tries pulling away, but Sera wouldn’t let him, he could see the pleasure she got from watching him squirm in her darkly glowing eyes.

“Please!” Ethan finally manages to grunt.

Satisfied, Sera stops her oral assault and climbs on top of Ethan; reaching behind her back Sera unclasps her bra taking it off revealing her gorgeous breasts eliciting a groan of appreciation from Ethan. Sera then slowly lowers herself onto Ethan causing them both to cry out in pleasure, despite this Sera made no attempt quicken her pace and slowly begins riding Ethan. Once again Ethan is awe struck by the beautiful creature on top of him. He reaches out to touch her just to make sure she was real; his hands travel up and down her body. Wanting more Ethan sits up and tries kissing Sera, but she pushes him back down and hold his hands above his head. Ethan struggles to free his hands while Sera just smile before leaning down and giving Ethan a deep long kiss, all while never breaking her stride.

Ethan suddenly feels himself on the edge of release, “Sera…I…”

Sera stops him, “It’s okay, let go.”

Sera proceeds to move her hips at a harder pace; Ethan struggled to maintain control as he felt Sera tighten around him hinting at her own impending release.

“Look at me Ethan, look at me.” Sera calls out in a low whisper.

Once again, his vibrant blues eyes lock on to her glowing violet ones the blacks of her eyes only emphasizing the violet color even more.

“You belong to me.” Sera states in a darkly sexual tone.

Ethan’s body shakes as his release rockets through him with a guttural yell, his release sets off Sera own as her body begins to shake and a purr of satisfaction escapes her lips. Sera releases her grip on Ethan’s hands finally allowing him to sit up and kiss her, a kiss which she happily reciprocates. Despite his release Ethan was still hard and in Sera raring to go, without breaking their kiss, he grabs hold of her buttocks and begins lifting her up and down. Sera moans into his mouth and he suddenly feels her fangs elongate with his tongue. But instead of being afraid like he thought he would, he found they excited him even more and scraps his tongue against them.

Sera suddenly breaks the kiss and lets out a cry of pleasure as her whole-body shakes from a second sudden and unexpected release. The feel of Ethan’s tongue on her fangs had sent her speeding over the edge and was quickly followed by an urge and hunger she couldn’t resist. Without warning she bites down and sinks her fangs into Ethan’s neck causing him to cry out, but it was mostly from shock as he was soon overwhelmed with pleasure. Ethan let out a moan as Sera pushes him down and begins moving her hips hard and slow as she continues to feed on him. Ethan is quickly pushed over the edge, his release rocketing through him for a second time, Sera as well is sent over the edge for the third time letting go of Ethan’s neck to let out a cry of pleasure as small droplets of blood drip from her mouth.

Exhausted and spent Ethan could barely keep his eyes open, he watches as Sera leans down again, at first, he thought she was going to feed some more but instead feels her tongue licking the wounds she had made. Seemingly exhausted herself Sera collapse next to Ethan, mustering his remaining strength, Ethan grabs the bed covers and covers both him and Sera. Sera quickly cuddles up next to Ethan and rests her head on his chest. Seconds later he was surprised to hear a subtle and cute snore coming from Sera’s lips, which he couldn’t help smiling at. Following her lead, Ethan lets his exhaustion take him and quickly falls asleep.
