For what it's worth I'll back up James statement (and your worries) about coming in without having heard Sam Harris... it does feel very in jokey. I felt the same way about the Peterson one you did recently; not ashamed to say it went completely over my head as I didn't know who the people involved were. The response in comments seemed favorable though so clearly a winner... Then again I also don't know who Grant is (or what Love Island is)... but damn he's got me laughing. I think everyone in Australia has met someone like that.

Dave Rubin impression was good but Harris one didn't really get over the line. Some of the jokes were good but not mentioning the Dark web or drugs might have been a mistake. Releasing this one would so close after the Shapiro vs Peterson might be shooting you guys in the foot because it will be directly compared to that vid (Shap vs Pson) and since you guys nailed it people will have high expectations. Only my opinion though, and since I dont make vidoes on yt I prob have no idea what I am talking about.

I think it's great to have these debates between characters. Having known some of them - the impressions were spot on. But even for those who I don't know - it makes it interesting to look them up. Either way I'm supporting this for the purpose of unlimited creativity and don't want to stop you guys from experimenting in any way. Please, keep producing, come ooon!

Lol, I used to watch a fair bit of Rubin report, and TYT in general. But even I missed the in-jokes on this one. Dave impression was pretty good though.

miriam - this is great feedback. It's true that this video is hugely narrow in that we're hoping people who watch it are fans of both Sam Harris AND Love Island which hahahaha in hindsight might be like 34 people

Not sure if you want feedback, but I'm gonna post it anyway! I didn't know any of the people being portrayed in this sketch so it didn't make me laugh. Sorry :( I'm not clever enough to know the smart dude, and not bogan enough to know the reality star. I found this was missing what I enjoyed about the last interview style sketch, in which I was familiar with the people. The missing bit was that the intellectual didn't stoop to criticising the non-intellectual character. Last time I found the non-intellectual person just sat there stupefied while the intellectuals talked about abstract ideas, which was hilarious enough in its own right. This is super anecdotal, but some of the smartest folks I've seen out there seem not to put off by what some people consider "stupid questions". I think the last vid was more reflective of that. Feel free to disregard this! Keep on posting. Love yo stuff.

thanks for your comment James! We are worried that these videos are a little in-jokey and if you're coming in with no prior knowledge of Sam Harris - it might make the video WAY less funny. It's certainly something we're thinking about. In terms of the "debate" format we've done twice now - we just find the situation of two people who would never normally talk to one another trying to find some common ground. But again, thanks for the feedback!

I haven't heard of Love Island but the Rubin and Harris impressions are great and I'm digging this approach to demonstrating what is available online as apposed to tele. The recent Shapiro impression was so good it made me like him a little more!

as someone who hasn't heard sam harris talk, the start was confusing and mostly the entertainment all came from the bloke playing grant. not sure of the point of these 'debates' videos.
