This Election is About Freedom

Over the past few years Scott Morrison and the Liberals have made unprecedented attacks on the freedom of speech of ordinary Australians and even more vicious attacks on whistleblowers and those who expose the crimes of government.
This election, when you vote, think about Assange, McBride, Collaery and all the other Australians facing prosecution for telling the truth.

The Coalition's failure to provide even the slightest assistance to Assange has been crawling, fawning and disgusting. How could one feel any pride in such a government?

We are a vassal state that can, and should, do better. Ours, much like the British passport, has these words on the first page: "The Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia, being the representative in Australia of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, requests all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer, an Australian Citizen, to pass freely without let or hindrance and to afford him or her every assistance and protection of which he or she may stand in need." Worthless statement, at present.
