The best thing about their offer is that it doesn't come with strings attached. It would have given us the increased ability to defend ourselves whilst needing to rely on alliances less. This nuclear sub deal has tied us further to the US, to the point where we are now having to get US to approve OUR defence strategy. The French subs were far better for our situation. I am not opposed to military purchases per se, but I AM pretty keen on Australian sovereignty from foreign powers whether China or America.

Could you please cover the mass bee (native and European) exterminations in NSW?

These sub are only useful for the Americans to stick it too China. We are the easiest target and those subs won’t save us. They don’t fit in most of our coastal waters. Pretty straight forward really.

Right or wrong,Keating’s interview was piss funny and had some valid points.Let the old bloke have a rant and stick it up to some journalists.Correct me if I’m wrong,but didn’t we have a submarine deal with Japan before we reneged on that to go the French ones then settle with U.S subs?Not a good look with our defence decision making on the world scale if this was the case.

Nuclear Submarines are great for national defence. Worth the money, aswell as all the other shit that comes with it. We want to be able to deter attacks from anyone. The more you can depend on yourself the less you need to rely on alliances
