The End is Nigh (QLD Election)

[Early Access]

The Queensland election is only one week away. With that in mind Jordan wanted to do an extended, unscripted video speaking his mind on the issues. This has a bit more of a personal feel than our regular scripted content and hits differently.

Next Friday we've got one of our longest scripted videos ever coming out too. It also has a long segment dedicated to the QLD election as well so rest assured, we're doing as much as we can in this final week even though things aren't looking good.

Also, you may have seen a video come out yesterday only for it to be hidden immediately afterwards. That video had an environmental fundraiser attached to it but immediately after release it was made clear that there were a few technical issues. By the time they had been sorted it would have been too late in the day for the video to have a significant impact. That video is slated to come out on Monday morning. But if you've been paying attention to the early patreon releases you would have already seen most of the video way back in June. We're excited to finally release it.

It's going to be a big week, thank you all for your support,
The FJ Crew

(Insert sixth Kevin Rudd Joke) will you do a more in depth Analysis / Vid (90 mins + on the Coup and the following events from the night of 24th 2010 to June 26th 2013? Could you go into detail about the Seven main people that were critical to the creation and execution of the coup, Arbib's straight up abuse to Rudd during the flight back from Copenhagen, the events of how the day and night of the coup actually happened and the infamous 'Hand shake", The asking of Rudd to be the foreign minister in the lodge after the coup, The three phases of Gillard's attack of Rudd's character, the importance of John Faulkner's role during the entire saga, who were the key players in the false "revolution vote" in Feb 2012, Simon Crean's attempt the seize the deputy PM in march 2013, Richard Marles approaching Rudd during the Mid Winters Ball in 2013, how the revolution vote happened and finally the leaks and sabotage by the Gillard camp during the 2013 election. Could be a great chance to remove all doubt on happened that night and set the record straight on Gillard's evilness.

Crisafulli, MP of Broadwater. International human rights violations in his electorate have been on going for more than a year and a half and he doesn't seem to care at all and hasn't said anything about it in his election campaign. Couran Cove residents have been without water, gas, electricity, sewerage all this time. If he can't/wont protect the people of his own electorate after them begging for help for more than a year and a half, why should we expect him to do better for the state? TLDR: Australia ratified the UN - ICESCR treaty/covenant, which includes the right to water. This includes the obligation of the government to protect the right to water from disconnection from third parties. Third parties cut off the water completely for more than a year and a half already. It comes down to a loophole in some legislation. Crisafulli doesn't seem to care. His offices best recommendation was to go to the other party. Many MP's on the other side said it's not their electorate, or said they were interested and later disappeared. Take this information and do with it what you can/want. Crisafulli's record when he was in as Local Government minister was to butcher Labor's amalgamated sustainable councils. He's killed the growth of the port Douglas region by ignoring the 2012 boundary commissioner report which strongly advised against allowing a deamalgamation vote to be held citing financial unsustainability. What has happened since is a council unable to support water security, unable to support the Mossman mill and unable to maintain public ownership of the vital Daintree river ferry.

Probably the nsw thing, gold coast has quite a few electorates and it's pretty much the same pattern everywhere

Yes I am not inQld but I follow Miles I guess I dont follow any others I dont see any other candidates around and about or maybe its because I am in NSW. It does feel as though the bulk of Labor have given up maybe spooked by the polls....

Maggie

Unfortunately as Kevin07 put it, Newscunt have a 100% monopoly in QLD, especially regions. Looking at Jordies' stark comparison of the Courier Mail's pitch of 50c fares story in this vid, it's no wonder some locals are totally comfortable with the idea. Reference yesterday: https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2024/oct/20/peter-dutton-nuclear-plan-queensland-power-stations

Claudia J

As a Gold Coaster, I'm noticing around the streets wherever they put those signs of the candidates' faces up, the ratio is 10 Liberal posters to 1 Labor. Now, while a face and name means nothing by way of policies they support, they're getting their names front of mind for drivers, therefore on the ballot paper. It feels as if Labor already feels they've lost the election looking at the effort disparity, even in our lovely Meghan Scanlon's area where she's been gunning it on a federal level.

Claudia J

Hey Jordie what about the Nuclear plants where are they going to land???? in QLD Aren't queenslanders concerned for their tourist dollars and businesses???

Maggie

I voted this weekend. I asked the LNP guys handing out the how to vote card "Are you going to cut the nuts off the Crime and Corruption Commision again?". He recoiled and said they never have. I said "Yes you did, and you are promising to do it again if you get in." He denied it and then put me on to the guy who is on the ticket for the LNP. I asked him directly, at first he too denied that they are making any changes to the Crime and Corruption Commision, but then he did one of those uncontrolled nervous laughs and then said, "Oh, we are, but we are just going to make it more transparent."

Pheonix_Harrrison

I’m a Queenslander who works in conservation. We are really fucking scared, really scared

Gough Whitlams beautiful taint

Nailed it with the coal royalties being the key reason the powers that be are after Labor.

cobweb

We're not too bright here in Queensland.

Dog With No Collar

Time to break out the ‘Death to Qld’ placards and fire sticks.

Jeremey Richardson

What is it with Crisafullis little sonic the hedgehog mouth that slides to the side of his face whenever he's talking? Also, yeah it's going to suck if the LNP get in. Living in Queensland is sweet right now and there's a lot of stuff that's going to get wrecked if they're elected.

Choblee

I truly hope we get videos coving the LNP and their "progress" once they're elected... mainly so I can say I told you so to my LNP voting mates

Tony Parker

Short memory syndrome, we forget 9 years ago. Privatisation of electricity hasn't been mentioned this year, after the election it will be a Mandate???? Abortion wasn't even an issue at that time. Who thought of this LNP?

Chris Rains

Hey mate, look, sorry to be the bearer of bad newsm but I think you and the team have missed the most obvious opportunity they have to make the money They will take that 500+ million, take it to star casino (which after they win their election will immediately be freed from these oppressive laws) put it all on the roulette table, and either lose it all, and then it just becomes a lost profit, or they win, an they’re even better off! Until, of course star can’t pay such a cost, so they start writ8ng I.o.u.s , dumb and dumber style, and so technically Queensland has more money, whilst also not

Sam M

Fantastic video this is what I love about jordies

Jo Stewart

As being someone in Steven miles Electorate hes awsome

Joshua

The end result of Murdoch having a virtual monopoly, more than any other state on Queensland's media and the Libs will be keen for that in Victoria especially by November 2026
