Similarly to how the British will refer to cola as Coke, regardless of brand, the term hoover is frequently used to describe a vacuum cleaner. By extension, vacuuming becomes hoovering. The French have a similar relationship with Orangina and orange juice.

2025-06-12 13:15:12 +0000 UTCA couple of years ago I was prescribed sleeping pills, and one of the side effects was actually ‘sleep telephoning’. I didn’t get that, but I did have an episode of sleep texting, when I texted whatever was in my subconscious. It was embarrassing, but surprisingly not as scandalous as it might have been. I haven’t used them since.

Oh how fun, will have to remember him for when we (I think) will be eventually watching The Young Ones. 😂😂 most episodes seem to have one part that just slays 🤣 Is it like an actual cold medicine drink, or something that just seems to help? Oh my gosh, I love that she’s watching with you. Most of our viewers (to my knowledge anyway) watch solo (I like to imagine us like a dirty little secret) but it’s really cool she’s watching with you. Hope she continues to enjoy them. It’s our pleasure. We’ve got it on the books today to get the next one watched 😊

Didn’t seem to be as many references that you missed in this episode or you was just so sucked in to the episode that you didn’t pause to question it. The burglar they sellotape to the chair is also in 2 episodes of another comedy starring Rik and Ade called The Young Ones. We also got another Rik breaks Taylor moment 🤣. Lemsip is a lemon flavoured drink that us brits typically use when we have a cold/flu. I started by watching your Bottom reactions after work or after a long day to relax and treat myself but my wife has now started watching it with me. I showed her you both losing it to the Jaffa Cake line from Bottom’s Up and she became a fan. Thank you again. Constantly refresh my phone for your Bottom reactions.
